Not even going to comment on how stupid he is because of bitterness, I'm just going to say that if that's what he wanted, that's an absolute mishandling of the situation. If Walters had done that deal I'd have called him about buying the bridge here in Kelowna. Then I would have jumped off of it.

It's a lot like Reilly last year - small sample size, hard to justify gambling the entire year on an unproven guy. I guess we'll see how it goes. Reilly turned out to be a good QB but still ended up losing a lot of games and taking a severe pummelling.

Signing Burris seems to be a fore-gone conclusion. Reminds me of 1988 when we signed a washed up Roy Dewalt to be our starter as the era of Clements/Hufnagel had finally come to an end. I couldn't stand Dewalt given how many times BC had beaten us and I really couldn't stand seeing him in our uniform. The difference is that Dewalt was washed up by the time he came here and ended up being released during the season, while I think Burris is still able to compete. I was at the game in August where Hank thrashed us and man did he still have a gun for an arm. It's just the brain I am concerned with, he has a tendency to screw up at the worst possible times. You could see how fed up Austin was with some of Hank's bad plays during last season. And he can be a complete jack-arse and not much of a team guy, at least that's what it appears sometimes, maybe that's just a bum rap I don't know. But if he wins for us, all that will be forgotten. I'm just so tired of losing. Beyond tired.

I was watching the game last night and was struck by how much Scheifele is looking like old #10 Dale Hawerchuk out there. He's really gaining a lot of confidence and I am expecting a big year out of him next year.

Anyway, with what we now know about Mack, I don't think it would have mattered anyway, Seleepy Joe wouldn't have got the job done anyway, even if Reilly had given us a shot at signing him in FA. I think that players need to look at all options and do what is best for them. In that regard I will be sad if Collaros signs with someone else, but I'll understand that he and his agent weighed all options and did what was best. I didn't get that feeling with Reilly, I think he had tunnel vision for Edmonton, and look how that worked out, the guy is lucky to be alive right now. Of course, so is Max Hall.

Definitely should not have still been playing in 2013 for sure. When Trestman walked to the NFL Calvillo should have pulled the plug. All he did last year was unnecessarily endanger himself in a broken system. And his childish behavior while walking off the field after yet another two and out didn't win him any points either. This retirement is a year or even two years too late.

He won back to back Grey cups against the Mustache Riders, and for that alone we should be throwing a retirement party for AC in Winnipeg. Can you imagine how insufferable those Rider d-bags would be if they had won back to back cups?
