  1. It was interesting. He randomly completed some long throws, then started throwing downfield more, but the Als adjusted and picked him off. It was, at best, a steep learning curve - not aided by a subpar OL in front of him
  2. He definitely wasn't getting the protection. And inexperienced QB, minus your 1st, 2nd, and 3rd offensive tackles His performance was disappointing, but not entirely unexpected.
  3. Not too many surprises to today. Any DC worth his salt would scheme to minimize the run and force McGuire to throw.
  4. I suspect the biggest problem is unvaxxed pockets, even if we did have 90% fully vaxxed.
  5. 84.4% fully vaxxed.
  6. That is beyond sad, and that kind of attitude is not an exception.
  7. For April, May and June of 2020 - things are mostly shut down Masks became a thing that summer, and were mandated for public places in July / August and then for grades 4 - 12 when school started
  8. My grandfather planted plenty of elm trees in his day. But now we have that bloody dutch elm disease I spend plenty of time in the bush. The wild elm trees get to a certain size and then start dying out, just like clock work But at least we still have younger elm growing. Now I see the same thing happening with ash. Big beautiful trees being destroyed by the ash beetle But so far, poplar, oak and maple appear to be as resilient as a ever.
  9. Yes, plenty of criticism is warranted when it comes to the government approach... But to say it was abysmal right from the start, is inaccurate. In the spring of 2020 when it all started - I fail to see what they could have done differently The entire province was shut down and all schools were closed. The lead doctors were dithering about masks - you couldn't expect politicians to mandate them at that point
  10. They are hinting about more restrictions - I guess we shall see. There are actually rural schools (Pine Creek School Div.) that are completely shuttered as we speak, due to outbreaks. Staff is not even able to deliver remote learning, as everything happened quickly and with little notice.
  11. Personally, I am surprised at how big of an impact the unvaccinated pockets are having. With the large urban centres mostly vaxxed, I thought MB. would fair better. Assume made an ass out of me again.
  12. Sorry about that. I spent just about a decade milking cows and raising hogs - it has only one meaning to me.
  13. They seem to have overestimated a couple of things: a) the effectiveness of vaccines in lowering case counts b) the amount of people choosing to get vaccinated
  14. Gestate? 9 months for humans, 11 months for horses, 4 months for pigs.
  15. Some go through a phase where they're very aggressive - because they believe they know more than those around them - it's gut wrenching.
  16. Lol - how precious.
  17. I think our OL gets 3 All - Star nods, Bryant and Dejarlais are shoo - ins, and either Couture or Hardrick will get the third. I don't see how you can give all - star nods to any OL other than the Stamps and Bombers. Bryant is a lock for most outstanding OL - there'a gonna be a drop off when that guy retires.
  18. If I had a vote, it would go to Jeffcoat. That motor never stops and he plays very disciplined ball.
  19. And he's not wrong about him.
  20. I don't know if there is a 'worst' way to age, that has to be near the top of the list.
  21. And - same old story with Trevor Harris - plays pretty well but folds in the clutch - Doug B. was thesaurusising about him.
  22. 1. Biggie - heat seeking missile out there 2. Jeffcoat - Mr. Consistent 3. Collaros - Als were getting pressure and he still delivered HH: Jake Thomas - nice to see Jake feast tonight HH #2: the Lark that crapped on Patrick Levels
  23. They were using 6 DBs late in the 4th Q - I guess Jones was a DI.
  24. I said the same thing last week: what an amazing Grey Cup weekend this would be.
