  1. Slips in to check if the Jets forum still exists....leaves immediately
  2. If it's just going to continue filling the general revenue coffers, then I would actually agree with scrapping it. It could be revamped into a positive good that no one could argue against.
  3. Exactly. The money should be used for green initiatives: 1. Plant trees 2. Research and develop biomass/carbon neutral energy sources Etc. Etc.
  4. Throw in a sour apple sucker...and you've got a deal.
  5. 12% of the world's total. Which makes them the world's largest oil exporter. They supply more than half of Europe's oil.
  6. No. Staff can choose whether we wear masks or not.
  7. I am not so sure about that. Germany gets 1/3 of their raw oil from Russia, and 1/2 of their gas (I heard this in a German newscast, that I use for German language instruction: https://www.zdf.de/kinder/logo/logo-vom-freitag-4-maerz-2022-102.html) That's just one European nation. How much extra cost is Europe willing (or able) to absorb?
  8. My point being - there are water shortage issues in places other than the prairies.
  9. Water adundance is not just a myth on the prairies.
  10. Excuse me if this was already posted elsewhere
  11. The Holocaust and WWII also get pretty complicated, the more you look into them The Allies were not innocent, and I would also include the Canadian Government in that statement But - none of that changed the fact that Hitler needed to be shut down
  12. Indeed. Canada (BNA at the time) carries the honour (sarcasm) of having deliberately infected Aboriginals with small pox My point being, you can find an excuse to invade pretty much every nation on the globe
  13. One night of feeling like I couldn't get enough air - was enough to convince me of the same.
  14. Good luck. I had Delta and I wouldn't have wanted to get too much sicker. But apparentlly omicron is pretty mild if you're boosted.
  15. Same thing with any party - they have their long - term people who come in and take over - whenever there's a regime change. Even opposition back benchers - have 3 to 5 people working in their office.
  16. We'll hear a speech about that...soon.
  17. The long term civil servants are really doing the work.
  18. Sure. I can't imagine a similar protest bring allowed or tolerated in Russia or Ukraine. Thus, they were priveleged. I did say it was mind numbing.
  19. ^^ It's about time the media is saying this...it sure took them long enough It's almost like Winnipeg is supposed to be thankful to just have the NHL...no room for criticism
  20. ^^ Meanwhile in Canada - we spend three weeks parking trucks to supposedly protest vaccine mandates That is just - mind numbingly privileged
  21. I would say more than half.
  22. The key is...to just not...think too hard...
  23. Yes. The bumper crops that we saw in the years previous to 2021, had more to do with drainage than with fertilizer application or any other factors Farmers have drained their land so they can seed earlier and not have as much standing water after a heavy rain. But if the soil thaws early enough in spring, none of that will matter, in terms of flooding
  24. Right - some Police probably did support them, but when their boss tells them to do tbeir job, they have to go do it. Unlike the protestors who refused to leave their trucks. Respect for authority seems to be a concept that is lost on them.
