  1. And the interim leader has now flip flopped for the nth time, and asked them to leave. People love to make fun of Trudeau, but Bergen sounds like a 4th grader. Seriously, an MP across the floor explains jurisdiction in answer to a question. She then accuses him of 'mansplaining' things to her.
  2. ^^ MB had best be joining the party.
  3. It would be nice if AH33 were still here... But I always think about what happened after 2007. The MO was to keep the team together, and go get a championship next year That DID NOT work out - they clearly retained some players that they needed to move on from I have found this off-season to be a nice balance of retention and recruitment...so far.
  4. When challenged by the opposition - he needs to state precisely what is within federal jurisdiction - and what is not Also - most provinces are already working towards changing and relaxing restrictions - Trudeau is not preventing them from doing this This is a very simple rebuttal - and would pretty much render the Candice Bergen et. al. grandstanding - moot. And - this could all have been done virtually while he was in isolation - quickly and efficiently. Or - Freeland et. al. should have done it That then narrows the focus down to just the border vaccine mandate, which the U.S. has also imposed The question for the opposition would be: "exactly which concerns is he supposed to listen to and address?" He could also ask: "would you speak in person to a group - where there are individuals who clearly threaten your safety?" Again - all of this needed to be done very early in the game - before the convoy could gain any 'traction.'
  5. It seems he's the one 'watching'...this time It looks like the puppet masters are not sure which string to pull...on this one...
  6. I am not a supporter of any of this, but let's get real: 1. A resident saw these people lighting the fire, and their response was to get in the elevator? Not to leave the building or call 911? 2. The arsonists would actually identify themselves as being 'from the convoy'? 3. It was not reported to the police - they saw it on Twitter?
  7. Those are not mutually exclusive events.
  8. That one useless week of remote learning after Christmas - that was the breaking point for me. When you're doing things just for the sake of appearances - it's time for change. That change is now happening.
  9. This. The Liberals are not strong at all. They just don't have any real opposition. We don't have a Chretien at the helm this time.
  10. My understanding is, unless you're doing long haul into the US on a consistent basis, the $$ are not that great.
  11. They are supposedly doing this to make a point about how essential they are in the supply chain. But - how long can the average trucker afford to not work - due to some of their co-workers blocking routes? I'd imagine they are not overflowing with disposable income. Maybe they could ask Tamara Lich for some #gofundme support...
  12. ^^ brilliant commentary.
  13. People who cross regularly say the U.S. mandate is not really being enforced.
  14. They can always say 'don't trust the mainstream media.'
  15. I would stash BA on the IR until about game 12 Then he comes back, and a D that has already been knocking the snot out of everybody, takes it to the next level...
  16. Reports of an injured ACL.
  17. They've got the trenches filled now, which should always be the priority Methinks some of the rest will be filled in by scouting and possibly the draft
  18. Yes. I got that as first hand info from our local Public Health Nurse. She also said they knew far about Delta than they know about Omicron.
  19. 3 doses are 60 - 70% effective at preventing infection. Preventing severe out comes - over 90%. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/saskatchewan/scott-moe-vaccination-covid-19-not-reducing-transmission-1.6332710 I think we need to understand that the Covid vaccine has similarities to the regular flu shot, which also has break through infections, and has had for a long time.
  20. Is that for infection or severe outcomes?
  21. I was not arguing for teachers, I think teachers should be vaccinated. But it's a double standard to mandate vaccinations for truckers crossing the border, when teachers can be exempt in their classrooms. From a public health point of view, teachers should be a far higher priority than truckers.
  22. That is all I'm saying. It's been mostly window dressing for several months, we may as well do away with every thing. Keep vaccinating, keep asking people to isolate as needed. And I see no real purpose in getting the last 10% of truckers vaccinated Unvaccinated teachers can continue to work, as long as they take a rapid test several times a week. This is true both in Canada and across the border. But we're going to mandate vaccination for one of the most isolated segments of the population?
  23. That's the sad part of the whole thing. I know people who talked to some of the truckers. They're good people, they mean well, but this is not going to achieve anything close to what they believe it will. It reminds of a book by Bryce Courtney (Sylvia) about the Children's Crusade. They were on their way to the Holy Land, and they were convinced that their leader would walk on water, right across the Mediterranean.
  24. Fair enough. Randomly picked restrictions are not sustainable. Such as - one week periods of remote learning - just for the sake of appearances.
