Under the new rules, players that have been with the same team for ____ years can count as NI if you want them to (we don't use it and Booch LOVES it...lol) but yes they could claim citizenship. Burris is one of the only ones I can remember that did it....

I’m familiar with the NI rule as it pertains to team loyalty. Just wondering why citizenship can’t be considered. Didn’t know that about Burris.

kind of goes with the whole "Canadian Mafia" vibe doesn't it?

Which caused my brain to have a thought (damn you!).

Why don't imports who have moved to Canada for a number of years and gained citizenship (I'm assuming) count as Nationals?  Don't know why that can't be a thing given the loose rules that allow the Cahoons and Wolitarskys to be called Nationals.

Seems like the rule as it stands is a little outdated and actually discourages American stars from putting down roots up here.

I mean, Zach's lived in Canada for quite some time now.

The lack of Kolankowski love is an outrage - John Hodge (probably).

And yet Kolankowski looked a lot better than Couture in the West Final.

Not that I know what I'm talking about.

I'm really surprised at how nonsensical the PA All Star choices are. Christ sakes it's like they all based their votes off what the media were droning on about...

  4. “He’s a mobster, bro. He’s a Greek Mobster,” said Drew Wolitarsky. “I think Zach might be the most competitive guy on the team. You may not always think that because of how cordial and relaxed he is off the field, but that boy loves to win. And he does it for the people around him. That’s why I call him the Mobster because he’ll do anything for family.

I recommend reading up on Disney and it's current situation, it is fascinating.

The theme parks are at an all time low,    the stock is currently plummeting,  Bob Iger is fighting a hostile takeover,    Disney is reported to be shopping around Lucas/Marvel/ESPN/ABC because they are in desperate need of cash.     Rumour has it Apple might buy a lot of them out.     Disney Plus isn't working out,  they are losing billions and are hurting for cash.

Whatever info you received is dead wrong,   They havn't been in this much financial trouble since the early 80's.

It's not the same as Bud Light/Nike.  Those companies dropped in sales but still were making billions... Disney is losing like 100 - 300 million dollars per movie which is crazy.

I've never been one to defend Disney, but their problems aren't due to them being "woke".

  7. From Jeff Hamilton in today's Free Press:

"I had an interesting exchange with Oliveira this week about his future. He’s on an expiring contract and while he loves his time in Winnipeg and can’t imagine playing anywhere else in the CFL, his plan is to pursue the NFL next season. While that would be an awesome opportunity for Oliveira, what a loss that would be for Winnipeg, seeing how much he does for his home province both on and off the field."

  8. Let's just be honest with ourselves.  Very few awards in Sports & Entertainment aren't popularity awards.  Once in awhile, the award winner is very much deserving -  but they really are mostly horsehockey.

I've always thought that and it only got awkward once my wife started winning awards for TV productions.

Counter point, Brady. Who’s a viral sensation for rescuing tons of animals all over. No better, or bigger diplomat for charity and being a good person in the league. That’s not to mention his countless hours of charity work with groups like variety. Time>money. Other wise Zach could but that award every year if he so desired. Or Chris jones.
Also, the toxic waste dump that has been the riders with a zillion fines and suspensions for dirty hits and attempts to injure. Money, doesn’t change or fix that.

300 rushing 100 receiving. Go big lol

They're going to have to send an Uber to pick him up on the Trans Canada highway after the game, because no one will be able to stop him.

I am going to put my credibility on the line with a couple of predictions:

    1. Bombers will win 28-10 despite their offence not blowing the doors off Montreal's defence. Collaros will play well, but not at an all-star level due to a cautious game plan by Buck.

    2. Fajardo will not only look bad, but I do not think he will finish the game. From the way he moves and throws, he looks like he is being held together by duct tape.

I've revised my prediction post Awards night snubs:

Bombers win 58-3 (2 missed converts & 2 safeties.  There will be no field goals)

Half time score:  Bombers 37 to -2

    Book it.

Nothing to do with him playing to his stupid base.
Our defence has been better in basically every possible way. Also coming off a 9 sack 2 interception game.
So of course their defence will be more impactful because Chad Kelly made incomprehensibly terrible throws.
Fajardo is an interception  and or sack waiting to happen.

Bombers D is better in almost every major defensive category.

    But feast on this:

    • Montreal passes over 20 yards - 30/74 40.5%, 1,030 yds, 9 TD, 9 Int
    • Winnipeg passes over 20 yards -  55/113 48.7%, 1,957 yds, 21 TD, 3 Int

I think we can all agree that it's much easier to defend against a one-dimensional team.  Yet another reason to be very optimistic.
