He is a nice kid, he went to high school with my daughter. I hope he gets a great opportunity. He is 23 and will be a good player for a long time in this league. I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't love to see him come back home and play here. I have a feeling that he will stay in Calgary. Huff is anything but dumb, he can see what he has in Jones. I can see the Stamps being very aggressive in trying to keep him.

That's BS. Yes, there are team financials, but the CFL has ZERO authority to go beyond the league boundaries .

I shouldn't have to remind people here of Wetenhall having Xmas parties in MTL where Als players were reportedly given envelopes of "gifts?"

Agreed.  imo someone has to be going out of here. we can't afford to keep everyone. the good ship taman will be under siege for this move. can't say anything bad about Watson but the guy can't stay healthy. Another roll the dice move by the riders this winter.

I remember when we drafted him and that was his calling card. Kid is supposed to be sure handed and can hang onto the ball when he gets hit.

When he's healthy, I'd say Neufeld is pretty close to dominant. People are looking at "he's injured again" as "he's a bad OL"......

Because it's basically like slapping that player in the face?

You have to have a lot of goodwill built up to be able to pull off moves like these without getting a bad reputation from players.  And I think Taman will be okay because Sask seems to be fairly highly regarded by players right now.... otherwise I'm not sure he would pull off a move like this.

I don't agree. You need a good coach who knows his stuff to coach that group as this is a passing league with some great receivers who can stretch the field vertically or catch the short to intermediate routes. I believe that DB coaches are just as important as linebacker or DL coaches.

So many good things to say about Hall, he is a first class man. He is very experienced and draws up good game plans each week. Strictly IMO where he fails is adjustments during the game. It appeared that we rarely made any halftime adjustments under Hall, he simply seemed happy to stay the course even at the expense of losing the game. My other beef with Hall is in the last few minutes of the game when we were trying to hang on for a close win, he just wouldn't turn up the heat and end it. His defensive philosophy is such that allows other teams to hang around late into games. He is waiting for opponents to make a mistake more so than trying to force a mistake. Letting him go could very well turn out to be a mistake, time will tell. I believe Hall is a great hire for the bombers, he is strict with discipline and runs a tight ship. His schemes are solid. Adding Hall probably brings 2-3 more wins for you guys based on some of the ones you lost last year. For any of you that get to meet him he is generous with his time and friendly. Always has a minute or two to take pictures with the kids or whatever.  my 2 cents

A good fan holds his team accountable. I think most posters do that. Its the ones too far to the left or the right that cause sparks to fly. Truth be told some people can't control their emotions enough after a loss to post with any common sense, OH YA I've done it, and that's when the most over board posts generally come. Or when fans of other teams are trolling your board to stir up crap. Nothing worse than losing and then getting it rubbed in your face after. I follow the Bombers very closely as I am a big football fan and have some good friends who are Bomber fans. Even though some may feel I am a enemy fan, I don't troll your board and therefore have not met any hostility here. I like your site and check it out at least once a day, lots of good threads, this one included. Some good back a forth with other fans is fun and healthy as long as it doesn't go too far. I think most posts are met with the level of passion as how they were posted. A over the top post is called out directly in the same manner as it should be. IMHO there is nothing wrong with being passionate about your team. I'm dam proud of mine, ok maybe not so much at this moment lol, and I appreciate any other fan who is too regardless of who he cheers for. As far as the bombers, as a outsider looking in, you found a qb and a rb this year things are looking up for sure.

part of putting your opinion out there is subjecting it to the judgement of the masses. Not every opinion is valid or good and if you can't handle people judging your opinions then lurking is the best place for someone to be.

As for homers. gloomers or whatever else, it's not about being negative, it's just that some people do fall into these categories. I can think of some people who always say positive things about the team, and I can think of people who do massively under rate things about this team. This isn't about disagreeing with opinions, it's about some people always acting in the same way. I like to think that I am a positive person in general with regards to the Bombers, but I can point out when something isn't good enough without resorting to the hyperbole that some people seem to need to do. Flaws can be pointed out without the doom and gloom. Positives can be pointed out without being a kool aid drinker. A lot of people here don't seem to get that though.

At least the team having some faith in the back up to a certain extent is important also. Other teams have made the mistake of not doing this and have paid the price. I don't see any controversy at least not any time soon, I'm a big fan of Drew and think he has a ton of upside in this league. Truth be told, every team in any league would wish to have a controversy however because that means you have 2 good qb's and the scouting staff has done their job of bringing in talent.

A few comments on your post. First of all, I live in the same community that Brendan is from and from what I've been told, he really liked Winnipeg. Its only a 4 1/2 hr drive from here. Rumours they wanted to move him to center may have been a factor.  I have never spoke to him about it even though I know him, out of respect to his privacy.  What I post is strictly my opinion.  There were Bomber jerseys hanging in every bar and restaurant in town, because everyone here was/is dam proud to see him playing pro ball. His parents are rider fans but I've seen them at many games wearing their Bomber jerseys like any proud parents/family would. Would anyone expect any less.  In the 2008 draft we took Shologan 4th and pasted on Brendan when we could have drafted him.  In now way, shape or form could I possibly say I know that he would have stayed or not, but I do find it odd to read that others are positive that he wouldn't have.  Currently there are Stamps jerseys hanging too with Jones on them. Our little town has turned out 3 olineman in the past 5 years.
Using Neufeld as a example, his parents are long time season ticket holders and sit right behind the rider bench as they have for years.  Paddy basically got hurt and in the mean time Heenan came in and took that job and owned it. Paddy now is in a good situation with the bombers and everyone here is happy and proud of him. Wishing him every success in the world for a long and healthy career. I believe he is very good and was sorry to see him go.
Just this year we lost Zack Evans to Ottawa via the draft. He is a free agent at years end and I'm sure I'm not the only one that was hoping he would return this winter to play for the Riders. He re-signed a bit ago and opted to stay in Ottawa. He likes it there and its a good situation for him. Again, no hard feelings here, Wishing him the best of luck.
Long storey short, Manitoba and Sask aren't that far apart, being in one or the other offers great opportunities for family and friends to stay close and still come watch games.  For a Manitoba kid that didn't get a chance to play for the bombers, would it not be at least reasonable to suggest being right next door in Sask would be the next best thing?  just my 2 cents, no hard feelings were intended.

I really don't think Geography has much to do with that, if the Jets were a winning team, Free agents would gladly sign here. Hell man, Detroit is a crap hole, its broke, it's cold, it's crappy, it's gang filled yet  free agents still sign there consistently? why? because that team wins. It comes down to winning, if the jets start winning, people will sign here.

And if signing free agents to over priced contracts guaranteed you won stanley cups then why the heck hasn't Philly Toronto or even the rangers and flordia panthers won anything in recent memory. Because to be honest, free agents don't mean crap.

Isn't chamblin also the guy that bans the media from attending practices? you think that would fly here? LOL. For every good that one coach on another team does, there are equally as  bad things he does and if he was coaching here, the fans would rip him a new one too. Maybe worse even, Chamblins coaching pretty much lead the riders to lose a few games earlier in the season they shouldn't have also and you can even say that not playing sunseri the entire game vs calgary was a coaching mistake. The kid looked good that game. What if he played the entire game? Perhaps sask would have won?
