Even still Stegall was in the NFL for a bit...so was deemed good enough there for a bit Every new player really comes up as a nobody for the most part...some with shining college stats...some with rather plain and unassuming stats...it's all about the opportunity present when they get here, and a coaching staffs ability to see it...or see something in a player and squeeze the most out of them and get them in a position to succedd....if you have talent and ability....teams will see it Interesting in regards to Bruce he came up here basically with experience in college as mainly a RB and not a receiver but our staff at the time saw in him the talent and gave him the chance at receiver as there was no chance in him unseating Roberts, and we also had Blount and Mills ....and that turned out pretty well for us. You don't let high ability talent walk out the door just cause it doesn't fit your ratio or established stars in prime are in the way....good evaluators will find a way...we have a hard time doing that here of late

Intelligent people assume....wouldn't put it past the CFL to announce cap penalties after the draft or something stupid. Can't waste anytime when there are 55 yard lines to remove from fields.

That was from the 50/50 proceeds. The CFL released the draft order on March 31st which would indicate no team exceeded the cap by 100k or more.

The CFL is not transparent at all. There is very little info released other than a team went over & by how much. It's a shitty system with communication that needs to be improved.
  8. I remember Lee Hull. A steady, if unspectacular receiver for the Bombers. But that's okay. You don't need to be a superstar player to be a superstar coach. Most great coaches weren't great players. Hull has NCAA & NFL coaching experience. I think his playing background is fine. he'll probably be a pretty good position coach. BTW, he caught 46 passes for 734 yards & no touchdowns as a Bomber in 1990 & 91 while averaging 17.5 yards a catch. Clearly he was a possession receiver & not a deep threat.

I wasn't expecting any team to lose a draft choice or to go over the SMS by any significant amount or at all. OTOH it would be interesting to see the results and compare the SMS spend to the standings. The problem is we only see overages. Even that isn't a direct relationship to season ending roster. Money left could be spent re-signing players and that could include and overage I'd like to see what each team spent after final game and then amount spent in December before free agency.

Emergency aka jets don’t have enough “healthy” Bodies on the main roster. I’d suspect a few vets “injuries” are acting up. 55 81 gabe cole will all play. JT will play cuz bonus money but is there really a need for names Nino and Nyquist ? Nope. There isn’t. Give Yager and Chibrikov some much needed big league reps.

Brutal Truth: Jets cannot even fail successfully. Coming up: mid-round pick, mid-round finish. We do not need another Cole Perfetti.

  15. well, now that everybody has cut this kid Frederickson, maybe we should see what he can do before he hits the field at training camp or the exhibition season. I'm sure that a lot of receivers were prejudged as not being good enough. The thing is, you can't judge charactder or the size of a man's heart.
  16. . The team also suffered a few departures, including receiver Keric Wheatfall (Hamilton Tiger-Cats) and defensive lineman James Vaughters (Saskatchewan Roughriders). Jake Thomas, the team’s longest-tenured player, retired to become its defensive line coach. They have a different meaning of suffering if that’s our key departures.

Pretty much anyone in the system could replace those two. They are washed up. The locker room is the only place they’d be missed.
