In spite of his size (6'1", 223 lbs) he's a former safety and played outside linebacker last year for Ottawa.

Simmons bass and Randle would be a pretty crazy good group of backers...

When Taman heard Jasper had signed with us he quickly went after Al Simmons to show the Rider faithful he wasn't content with their record ...

 

I think the Bombers will use Simmons as a rotational/platoon player. Doubt he displaces Hurl in most situations. Everyone is thinking he is a Mike, in Ottawa last year he played primarily WIL.

Simmons can play WIL and MAC correct? I'd assume he gets DIed to start and plays some snaps at MAC replacing Hurl and some at WIL replacing Bass. Full workload on teams.

 

I'd suggest you are probably right. They will probably use him in a rotation to keep everyone fresh.

Apparently the Riders offered Simmons more money, but he prefers the situation in Winnipeg. 

 

This sounds like a fan-created rumour... but it would be amazing if it's true...

 

I'm happy Simmons signed with the Bombers. I just hope he comes in & plays hard & isn't a headcase or that his agent doesn't turn out to be difficult to deal with. 

 

He needs to get off twitter... or at least make his fan interaction more about his play and not his complaints...
