Important notice regarding the future of MBB.com

In just a few weeks, it will be the one year anniversary of the launch of MorningBigBlue.com. It's hard to believe that a site we scrambled to piece together in time for the 2013 training camp has evolved into what we see today in less than a full calendar year. Quickly, I just wanted to give a thanks to all of our members for your contributions and for how easy you make it on the staff here. What we envisioned for this site would not have been possible without everyone pitching in to do their part, so thank you very much on behalf of all of our administrators and moderators.

With our one year anniversary just around the corner, the staff has been working and will continue to work to provide everybody with an improved experience at MBB.com as we move into the 2014 season and beyond. The first thing we'd like to announce is that we have added Jpan85 to the moderation team. Joey put in a ton of work last year to help us run contests and he will continue that in a more "official" role this year. In case you don't know, Joey will also be raising the 13th man flag at the 2014 home opener which is an awesome (and well-deserved) honor. Maybe if we're lucky, we can print up a MBB shirt and get ourselves some free advertising. ;)

Without going into too many more details, the efforts of everybody here have put us in a position to really improve the quality of what we can offer our members this year. To give you guys a preview, we'll see the return of a handful of the contests we ran last year as well as the introduction of a new weekly contest (one I'm personally excited to run) open to all forum members. Not only that, but we are proud to say that we will be able to offer prizes to all of our contest winners this year. Full details will be released on those contests plus much more on the official one year anniversary.

As always, if anybody has any suggestions or recommendations, feel free to share them with us. We're always looking for feedback on how we can improve the site, whether it be with contest ideas, ways to generate better content for you, forum add-ons you'd like to see, whatever.

Thanks again on behalf of all of us.

- The MorningBigBlue.com Team.

Only suggestion I can make is send an email blast to members to let them know when maintenance is done or of special events.

That's actually an interesting idea. Personally I don't pay attention to email but some may definitely find value in that. Anyone else?

No value for sending an email...  it's simply easier (and faster) to just click on the favorite link and see if it's up (or down).

I think the Twitter account may be a better way instead of email perhaps.

Too many e-mails already...

Just do what you already did. Make an announcement in the forum. We'll see it.

Posting something on the MBB Twitter feed works for me regarding letting people know when the site is back up or other announcements.

Don't post very often, but do read the majority of what is posted on here. Gotta say, the site is great, and very much appreciate all of the work that's put in to creating a community for Bomber fans to go to to chat and read about the team.

Well done everyone inlvolved...you're doing a fantastic job!

Congratulations, this site seems to contain more mature discussion and less cat fighting.

Job well done to the admins of this site. So happy to have found it after the fiasco of the "other" Bomber site.

A rare poster here.I am sure there are others like me who rarely post but always read .This is my go to site for Bomber news .Thanks to all who put in the work to make it possible.

I lurk more than I post, but I'm exclusive to this site. Haven't once set foot (mouse?) on the other page since leaving it and the official page is a bit of a joke. Not enough critical thought there.

One thing, though: Am I the only one who really dislikes banners in the sig line? ICK's giant pic of jerseys in his sig line is really annoying...but maybe it's just me.

I've only been here a few months but I've really enjoyed it.... I'm sure some people recognized me from bombers.com and a brief stint on OB.... anyways, thanks for putting this site together and congats on one year...

speaking of twitter, follow me @bear_pants, I'll follow back since that's more of my game-day go-to than the fan sites...

Yeah, I hate big sigs as well.

Luckily, you can suppress sigs per-user thru the "Manage Ignore Prefs" page, available in the menu that pops up when you click on your handle, top right of the page.

Or here's a direct link: http://morningbigblue.com/community/index.php?app=core&module=usercp&tab=core&area=ignoredusers

Fine-grained ignorability is one of the super deluxe-est things about MBB!

Love the site.. Go to place now for all things bombers now..

atta boys to all admins and regulars for making this place the delight that it has become..

Got to admit I have not gone to any of the other sites since I signed up. Can't wait for the Lock of the Week to start up enjoyed doing it last year.

There are other sites?  Oops.

Good job everyone!

I never saw the post...I assumed the world was ending when I noticed it was down.  I was...gasp...I was forced to do something I don't normally do...it tore me apart inside like no feeling I've ever had...the pain...OH THE PAIN...I was.......I don't even know if I can say it out loud........ok here it goes...I was...I was forced to do work....*cries for 10 minutes*.  Don't ever frighten me like that again.

Trust me when I say this .. work is *definitely* something he doesn't normally do.

Also props to the admins for expanding into NHL sub forums and off-topic forums.  This is my go-to forum for Bombers, Jets, NHL and just general banter.

Great job.

Although I never post on this site; I hadn't even created an account until today.  Which is wierd I swore I had one before I have been reading the MorningBigBlue forums for quite some time now.  I typically use bluebombers.com as I find there is much to talk about there; sadly I also find a lot of blue bombers news on riderfans.com as well.

MBB has been great though to read about different perspectives and get some of the most recent news that often takes a while to hit the bluebombers.com forums.

I prefer to only need to participte in one forum but due find that the diversity at MBB is great which is why I regulate this website often.  Keep up the great work!  I look forward to the 2014 season and participating on this board as the season goes on.

Cheers,

Tehedra
