Rumor has it we will be naming Rich Stubler our new DC. Huge if true.

BC Lions have called a 2 p.m. news conference Thursday to announce former Defensive Backs Coach Mark Washington has been promoted to the Defensive Coordinator.

Washington has been with the team since 2007 and will replace Rich Stubler who left for Winnipeg over the weekend.

Part of me is glad that this Stubler To Wpg stuff is true, 'cause I was a little worried about Calgary making a pitch for him. Kinda sorta...

So Stubler came to Winnipeg over the weekend?  And Khari was here the end of last week?  So....?

I think you might be taking "left for Winnipeg" a bit too literally.

 

I don't think he actually means Stubler physically travelled to Winnipeg.

 

And if he does, even then it doesn't necessarily mean anything.

Well, everything does seem to point towards stubler and jones as our assts... We're not really hearing rumours involving any other names - unless MB sneaks in there

I would be really pleased with Stubler as DC and Khari as OC.

 

In fact, I could see KJ really shining in that role here.

 

Stubler, however, isn't risk free. His star seems to have lost some lustre since the '07 Argos.

At least Marcel has been a HC before.  We need more experience on our staff.  Not more rookies.  We already have 3 rookies running our team in the top positions in Miller,Walters,Oshea

Marcel was a losing head coach and he did little with our offense this year, plus he advocated for us to bring in Boltus. The experience thing can be overrated, Jim Daley and Jeff Reinbold have experience too

I wouldn't say he did nothing with out offense. He came in in a bad spot. Took a lousy offense and improved it in mid stream. Made Hall better. Made certain receivers a lot better.

With a full off season and training camp, better QB and talent all around id be very interested to see what Marcel could do.

I don't mind MB, our offence had some flashes and we ran outside and threw for more than 4 yds at a time... But its hard to get the boltus stink off of him

We could do alot better then Bellefeuille but we could also do alot worse then Bellefeuille..

So if its marcel and we can convince to him to give up his mancrush on Boltus.. Meh. Offense will improve but wont wow anyone..

I'd prefer a complete break from anything to do with last season. But we'll see.

Yes, Marcie should not be back imo.  Lets re-tool properly and have some stability for a change.  We deserve it.
