Forget the injury and long term health concerns, Zach has been on a decline production wise since 2023.

  • Either reinjured his shoulder, or concussed. I've been a big Brown booster since his second-year leap forward. We need him to take the step forward again now and consistently show the brilliance he's

He has never been the same since that game against the Elks when he got knocked out and Dru stepped in and led a second half comeback

And the issue we’re discussing is not the # of injuries incurred, it’s the type of injuries incurred overtime and how that can impact the long term health of a professional athlete like Zach Collaros. Matt Dunnigan would be a very relevant example of what can happen.

Yep, ZC's history of concussions is well documented and just looking at how this particular injury occurred is a prime example of the cumulative effect those can have. It wasn't a particularly vicious play and he's certainly taken harder blows but it clearly did enough to take him out. If he was a boxer, people would say his chin is gone.

If a play like that can take him out, I hope for his (and his family's) sake, that's the last time we see him suit up.

Zach's immediate future will be dictated by how Dru shows in the next couple games. If he doesn't look good, they'll be rushing Collaros back, without question. If Brown shows alright, they'll be more patient. Either way, I don't see any universe where Zach isn't starting the playoffs for us unless he is dead... And even then I wouldn't be surprised to see a Weekend At Bernie's....

Maybe the 6 game IR is a polite way of benching him?

FWIW, if he does a full stint on the 6 game, that would rule him out for the semi-final game. Whether or not he stays on the IR for all 6 games is a different matter altogether.

I think it's time for us and the Bombers to bid Collaros adieu, the next Bomber QB chapter needs to happen next year and Collaros needs to get out of the game with some sort of health, he again has taken a beating this year.

I can't imagine he does...

Every time Zach goes down, people say "that's it...he's done..." then he comes back and looks incredible. I'm not writing the guy off ever.

Debatable... He didn't look so incredible in the game he hurt himself in...

Yup but other people are saying "good gracious another concussion I know its not my place nor am I an expert just a concerned fan but how is incurring another concussion going to impact his longterm health by again putting himself back into the situation of incurring yet another one".

he hasn't really looked incredible in yrs...That notion is just out to lunch

He has looked progressively worse, with odd/weird issues showing up that shouldn't be showing up in a vet QB of his "former" caliber...He is defective now and at risk...You can see his processing and decision making and ability to just navigate a pocket now is eroding or has eroded in a big way. And we as on organization have made it worse and put him right in the cross hairs with our inability...or lack of forward thinking in doing any kind of succession plan work, or preparing/setting up things down the road....much like other positions and just ride guys into bloody knubs to a point they are basically a shell of their former self, yet we treat, pay, and look at them as their former self's in their prime

Curious if we make any changes other than Dru starting.

meaningful changes the rest of the season? probably not. only injured forced now.

If he/we try to play him next year, the league should force an extensive medical review of zachs health with respect to concussions. Short of a miracle, it would be wildly irresponsible to certify his deal for another year as a league.

and incredibly bad in the play offs in all but like 2 games here.

They can't rush Collaros back with a concussion. For one, the effects may take months to go away & he may decide to retire. Second, he goes out early & gets another concussion. Then the Bombers & CFL open themselves up to a lawsuit. Collaros isn't stupid. He won't go out & play if his head isn't right yet.

They have already rushed him back with concussions this year. They had him play with his finger damn near falling off. Zach is willing to play through any injury no matter how bad he performs and the club is ride or die with that.

no major complaints with this line up... but much like last game.. would be nice to see Jawarski and Womack get some reps... and as per usual, the OL is a concern...

Anyone else getting the EX1114 error code again in the GDT?

Yep can only post by going to the side panel on posts

Here's hoping for a Dru Brown 'break out game' from start to finish where the W was never in doubt.

Please Oline faciltate this process?

Argos blow.

We know Kelly is going to come out throwing till his arm drops off...Our db's better be on their top game and for cripes sake keep a lid on this Coxie guy.... a game changer ...Their running game is average to poor so it's force Kelly to chuck em up for the picking orrrr we could be if for a long night

Kelly will give our secondary the chance to make plays. He does so every week.

totally agree...you add some assets who an actually do something more than run up and down on ST's or stand on sidelines....then actually use them.

I could see Womack being very effective in the short and intermediate game with quick passes...A thick athletic reciever with nice skills when ball is in his hands...perfect next few games to see what he brings

Go Bombers. What's the word on Wilson? I figured he'd be back by now.
