Oh well... It was always out of his hands. No one can control government red tape & regulation. The trouble getting a visa is why no Canadians played on the American teams in the CFL 30 years ago. The American govt said no. It only benefitted guys like Dunigan, Pringle, Elfrid Payton, Ham & Damon Allen. The star American players all cashed in & left as they were paid in American dollars while the Canadians were forced to stay & get paid in Canadian dollars. At the time, the Loonie was in a similar situation as it is now vs the Canadian dollar.

Kind of a side bar....but Brady O's new TV show is up and running on CBC Gem. I plan on checking it out at some point this week.

One day contract so Biggie can retire as a Bomber.

It wasn't about work visas. The CFL's roster rules are illegal in the US. No business in the USA can have rules that reserve roster / staff spots for foreigners.

"That's the league with a Canadian quota?" he asked. I told him yes, he was right.

"Doesn't work like that down in the States, only the best play," he said.

What I wanted to say was "I hear that's how the Border Patrol works too," but I did not say that.

Love this... his last year or two wasn't all that memorable... but the first 3/4 seasons he played here were absolutely epic... he was a huge part of the turnaround and ending the championship drought... Congrats Biggie!

Just the best dude in the community, too. We were at Stella's prior to one of the many West Finals and had our back to the place so didn't even see him, but he came up and tapped us on the shoulder because my wife was wearing his jersey and wanted to chat. Asked us if we wanted it signed and was happy to get a picture taken. I lost my wife to him that day...

Bombers have signed linebacker Matthew Jackson. He spent some time on the practice roster at the end of the season.

Im a bit surprised biggie went out a bomber and not a lion. I love the guy and he had a couple big years here. But nothing like what he did in BC.

I think its a smart move by Biggie if he plans on continuing to live in the Peg.

I can see more opportunities for him if he has a Bomber hat on instead of a Lions.

I thought so too but maybe 2 Cups here versus 1 in BC plus he still lives here had something to do with it.

Why? Has he ever indicated he even wants that. I thought he had his post playing career figured out already. Congrats to AB. 6 seasons here? 7 with BC, guess his time here was better for him.

If it was just his career here, he wouldn’t get a sniff of the hof. lots of guys got rings. His bc career is hof material by it self. That stretch was one of the best by any lber ever.
