You have to study the history of how we got here. First there were the O'Shea haters. These ones claim we should have five Grey Cups and MOS is a piece of **** for only getting 2. Walters built such an incredible roster that surely Tim Burke could have won all 5.

Enter the Walters haters. It's not O'Shea's fault!! It's Kyle Walters! He's not doing enough! And so on.

So that's where we are now. It's going to be Defcon 5 here if the Bombers don't make it to the Grey Cup at home, let alone win it. O'Shea is public enemy number one but Walters is right behind him.

And all 12 posters here know I'm speaking the truth.

Please tell us what Walters actually did this past off season or what he's tried to do to improve the team considering we're hosting The Grey Cup? Please tell us the crackerjack job Osh has done with the team always fielding the best roster possiblle. Please tell us how the same 2 people running the show are suddenly going to solve the problems they created??

A more honest update is that people are frustrated that this club has moved glacially slow in making the necessary changes that other clubs would have addressed immediately instead of waiting half a season and/or until a player gets injured.

O'Shea saying "nothing wrong all is good" has made people believe that he is arrogant and stubborn and unwilling to admit that they made poor decisions and need to change.

The lack of free agent signings and giving Zach a big contract for next season has soured the people on Walters.

The roster management has been terrible and people are split on blaming O'Shea or Walters.   Nobody can understand why Jake Thomas is starting and puzzled on why they have not attempted new players to see if they can create a spark.

I don't think anyone wants either Walters/O'Shea to be fired... just a kick in the pants and for them to stop sniffing their own farts and stop resting on pass success and do something.

Everyone has agreed that the new OC Hogan needs to be fired ASAP.

I do. The day they're fired, I'll go to the liquor store & buy me Glenfiddich 12 year old single malt whiskey & crack it open to celebrate. Twelve seasons of this **** is more than enough. Both are old, tired & soft. Making questionable decisions. They're winning this season despite themselves because there's still enough veterans paying well enough to get the job done. I can see us finishig 9-9 or 10-8. However, another off season like the last where Walters does sweet piss all, Osh with his roster favouritism & just watch the Bombers fall off a cliff next season.

The frustration with O'shea has been consistent for the past 3 seasons- his rigid devotion to certain players, even when it was obvious that his loyalty was misplaced, resulting in a steady downward spiral for the team. He may be a nice guy and calls his mom regularly, but he has glaring deficiences as a coach which he has refused to change. I cite his retention of a certain ex-marine who had little talent but was kept on regardless, and his usage of Collaros in the last Grey Cup game. Every coach and even GM has a "best before" date and I believe that O'Shea has exceeded his.

Really good post. Thanks

I haven't been able to follow the team or watch the games like in previous years but still catching highlights and checking stat lines. I saw strev completed like 3-5 passes in a game hahaha

And we won. Wild

My Gramma took me to this game when I,was kid. I remember it being a blow out but remember it more for spilling hot chocolate on my hand and getting burned very badly. Had a giant blister on my hand and had to go to the doctor later that week lol.

So that is the end of the Bombers hopes for the West Division isn't it?

Can only get to 11 wins and the Riders are already there... could conceivably make it to 11 but the Riders have the tie breaker. If it's the Riders, Bombers and Lions at 11 wins, Riders would get the tiebreaker because they would be 4-2 vs 3-3 and 2-4. If its all 4 I think the Stamps actually come up on top.

I fondly remember burning my tongue and upper part of my mouth with a ridiculously lava hot chocolate during the Grey Cup back in the day.   It was like 99% water with a  1% tinge of chocolate powder.

but why be honest when you can stick your head in the sand and hide behind hyperbolic appeal to authority based on 4 year old success.

Same issues that had a great team needing to hit on a hof qb in 19 and prior are bad with a vengeance. We’ve all seen the warts, we all know the reality of how we limit our own success. Now, ever one does any way. Though some still try to hide from it.

Jake Thomas is by no means our biggest problem. But he’s the most glaring example of roster negligence we can possibly ever imagine having. We start him and it’s not even ratio related. He could be replaced by an American tomorrow and it would not affect the ratio one bit.

Unless our team is admitting they’re not putting out the best possible roster, the only explanation for this is that we can somehow not find a better DT down south than Jake Thomas.

thomas/kola. Thomas could be serviceable as the least played dl. But he’s  the least capable of being effective in heavy reps. And our Ds biggest need is disruption on the line.

Yes and then couple that with having to pee like a racehorse but then getting stagefright when you have to face the dreaded trough....lol...

Yes - as mentioned above. End of the road for the WF. Have to hold out hope for the WSF and take the long road.

we already have 2....who offer more, could we find better....for sure and we should always be trying to find better...at every position and this loyalty of favoritism to a coach's fav...or a guy who been here a few yrs is the root cause of how you go from the top...to "not the top" in lickity split fashion and degrade your roster...depth...and yes attitude and loyalty to club from players...Lawson a Canadian offers more...and actually before Schmeck got hurt in a situational role even offered more....but..........we know the but

And the value the HC has on certain aspects of a player trumping talent/potential/versatility also gets you what you see when you compound it with the aforementioned...and gets you a roster chalk full of ST guys who have no value beyond that....and forces you to play underperforming vets, and injured guys...

its been 12 season...not just past 3...he was able to skate by cause he had a loaded roster and guys in their prime....he hasn't the last 3...4 yrs...and it shows

Waltr's saved his bacon with savvy FA signings and a solid recruiting team...and the gentle push to basically say...Nichoils is here...he best be starting next game

That didnt happen he woulda been gone in yr 4....5 latest

yup...and re:Thomas....he not even serviceable at that...why?....like he shouldnt even be here now...or last....let alone next...so whats the point? he's not the future and far from the now...dumping him off the roster won't make us a weaker squad...allow a young player to develop there with sparingly being used until they progress...and really with ratio a DT isnt even required....go find a legit DB/Rec/LB (tho we already have 2) and develop them.....

The only good thing was seeing the rider logo at the bottom of the ol pee pot and getting to stand over it and letting go.....Don't know who the brave soul was, that had the big knackers to place it there ...but kudos to whoever...It was always wise to not wear good shoes when unloading at the old barn

But why did the wobbly guy who didn’t last the four quarters of the game always want to engage in conversation while he’s spraying urine all over?? All i could do was nod and smile. Fun times.
