Love Parker. Hopefully he can bounce back nicely from injury.

I'd have to imagine they want a vet playing safety to quarterback the secondary. Can't think of a better fit from our roster

Never thought of Parker at safety...he'd be lethal there...Best closer in the secondary in my opinion...and one of if not the fastest

I don't think Parker is in jeopardy of not making final roster in the least...he can play all the db spots..and Sam.. and is probably best form tackler on team...same with closing ability..mind u I havnt been to camp yet to see the new guys..but he hasn't been kept around 2+ yrs outta charity

If Parker is back to full health and able to stay health he is a tremendous option at S. Very much like a young ba. The versatility, the physicality, the speed/athleticism. 
  Not soo crazy on bridges. I hope to see griffins on the first team squad.  
 

gonna be a shuttle of guys at cb s and both lber spots in camp and pre season. We got more bodies than openings. Plus every year we find a stud db, and this is maybe our most impressive crop of dbs in recent memory. Tons of nfl experience, size and top tier athleticism.

Yeah nothing about Bridges wowed me..maybe 2nd yr he shows something...or they trying to find his ideal spot as the extra guy

But with holdovers Nichols..Bonds..Holm..and role guys Parker..Griffin..and Kelly who are legit higher end starter quality...just a matter of where we put them we sitting real good...and yeah I have no doubt we unearth another gem..we can be pretty selective as to who and how we wanna roll out our guys

Same with Jaylen Smith and Makonzo..Shay...they gonna be all over on the defence I bet...and being Canadian it just may free up 2 DA spots for import beef on the dline

Our depth is going to be soo young and athletic. We are gonna have an army of guys like Ayers to float around. 
 Maybe bridges takes a step forward as a year two guy. We seem to always have that guy on the team for a 2nd year in the secondary that makes you go “but why?” Seldom seems to hurt us though. 
 

This off season hasn’t added or replaced stars, but boy our depth and roster flexibility are looking really good. If we can develop a guy or two into stars it’s gonna be a great year.

I loved the reporting on the picks of Shay and Smith and how the basic defensive philosophy is versatile, multi positional players. Its going to be a blast watching JY continue to refine and develop his system.

This is a thing we haven't talked enough... Younger going in to his second season at th helm. He's only going to get better with experience, so I'm excited to see what our D looks like. Could be really special if a few guys from last year take a step forward....

Yep. The step forward for JY is going to be seeing how he can create pressure with 3-4 rushers. 
 We don’t need that hit the qb before the intended throwing window type pressure. We just need the ability to push the pocket onto the QBs lap, and close out plays with sacks when the coverage is blanketing WRs for 4-5 seconds. 
 

Having hall who has done this masterfully in the past with rotations, multiple front looks, adjustments and varied rush lanes etc. 

If/when JY takes that step he’s off into the stratosphere as a coach.

Re: Lawson/Schoen … they’re not ready to full practice so they don’t need to count 

In O'Sheas presser it sounded like Schoen and Lawson are likely ready to start the season but they are being smart about it by not rushing them into practice

Reports from 2100 say Jake Thomas isn't practicing but is expected to start in his 89th season in Blue and Gold.

I'm 100% ready for us to have some really painful cuts. 1 of Woods/Adams, any of Person, Ayers, Jonathon Jones, Eli, Randolph, Terry Wilson, and Vanterpool, I could see being cut.   Woods, Adams, Ayers, Eli, and Randolph would really hurt. I think there is even a small chance that Lawson could be cut if he isn't 100% ready to go and comes out slow in camp.  The thought of cutting guys like that for Kyrie, Patterson, kola, jake, schmekel etc is just awful. But it's likely we let go of some one with lament.

Nobody Tait sits down with gets cut He sat down with Adams but if we being honest, our DL wasn’t great last year so I do expect some change. Wilson ? He’s a 3rd stringer. If he can’t beat out other 3rd stingers, so be it. Eli been here since Covid and is a backup. Person? wtf has he done on the field? Nothing. Are rookies getting cut surprising? Dude hasn’t played a down.
