I'm rooting for Streveler, he has a mental and physical toughness unlike many. IF he is used as s real QB and not a gimmick I honestly do believe he can be a true starting caliber QB in the CFL. I could be wrong but, with his attributes, experiences, and the stage of his life he is in combined with how hard he has rehabbed, I would be very surprised if he gets beat out for number 2.........but if he does then I will be very happy as the guy who beats him would IMO be a real stud QB!

agreed...at worst ....he can be Faj when Faj plays that odd game outside his ability....at best I see him as a Tracy Ham type....that tho has to be allowed to be an actual QB and with a Co-Ordinator that isn't stuck in a box and has no clue how to use players.....Realistically I can see him as a more polished Kerry Joseph....a guy who will lead and have guys go thru a wall for him...as thats what he is gonna do...and give you more wins than losses and a guy who can take a game on and pull out a win from time to time on his sure will alone....Camp should be tres' interesting

All the late drafted Qbs from big programs had multi million dollar NIL deals.

Yea...most of our QBs in this league had good NCAA careers. They may not be the cream of the crop that goes to the NFL but many make a pretty decent chunk of change in college now. Any QB on a decent Div 1 team is cashing some nice cheques.

I believe in him as well.  But the offense he needs to be successful and the one that fits Collaros style are extremely different  Streveler is more RPO, less vertical/drop back style and I think he can be very useful if he stays healthy.  But that's the rub.  No one is going to bank on him playing 14 or 15 games in a season.  I hope we make use of his skills generally even if he's not the starter, and that we don't have him running wedge plays.  Build that run/RPO package for short-yardage around his skills.

That is what he's accomplished in the past but I'd hope for a lot more from a future starter than struggling to win half his games, re-watch the second half of the Banjo Bowl, he was unable to move the ball the entire half on the ground or in the air, the Riders keyed on Brady and didn't worry about his vaunted arm.  You've got blinders on if you're comparing him to Fajardo in ability or accomplishment, he can't manage a game near as well as Dru Brown could in his second season with the Bombers behind basically the same offence.  He's a SY specialist that usually ends up on the 6 game IR due to the reckless style he plays and I don't think he'll ever amount to anything more than that.

That's exactly it... if faj can be a starter there is 0 reason streveler can't. He was a much better prospect coming in as a passer than faj, has a better arm and a better attitude and showed insanely more as a rookie than faj did.

You can't gain anything from that observation based on what we gave him to work with...scheme...and not running anything in practice in that BB...

Lots of games last yr as well ZC accomplished nothing other than giving ball away...and that was an offence tailored to him...and taking all the reps

Drew brown looked like hot garbage a lot in the beginning but was allowed to grow as an actual QB..Strev was never afforded that here...ever

Cherry picking one game when have no clue whatsoever of what all the circumstances involved were proves nothing..and was pretty obvious all yr..last 2 really that we couldn't make any adjustments on the fly or in game for the most part it our life depended on it...or how to best use our personelle

He was only a SY specialist here in his late part of first tenure and the idiotic role we had him play last yr...if Brown was all that and a sac of plums he'd have been on a 4 yr nfl journey ...was he?

Strev was failed by Bomber coaching...plain and simple...almost ruined

Getting looks...or no looks in NFL at times is an odd experience.. some is political..some is black listed...some is just pass the visual "appeaeance" Lenius..KSB and that wr from last yr wave and say hi

If a QB gets significant preseason play..gets on roster and in actual games...and bounces around for 4 yrs...there is a reason for it...especially a CFL detector as sadly they are victims of politics and bias' moreso than any other positional player who was in Canada first...

If Strev. just does what they tell him and never speaks up or asks for varied play selection during the week that's on him, if so it's getting him nowhere.  Buck has said numerous times he works with his QB to accommodate what he likes to do best, there's no evidence he's a dictator that won't listen.

Dru Brown took advantage of his limited opportunities and did exactly what he needed to do, he ran all the way to a starting job Ottawa with them. In a few of the games he stepped in for Zach in 2023, he took full control of the offence and even outperformed Zach, a mid-season Edmonton victory was probably the best example.

Club has confirmed. Not surprising in the least. Patterson will be next.

I'm not sure what regime people think is in charge. But it's not one that will let Strev walk after convincing him to come back with, according to streveler, at least some kind of guarantee that will let him be a bit more active in the offense.

U think thats how it works?...Then he gets labeled a bad actor...same reason why u never heard a player(s) publicly speak out against not getting dline reps in lieu of inferior teamates....thats a ticket out the door especially with a coach who is loyal to his fav's to a fault

Strev did that inquiring you mentioned tho before he signed this off-season...And I know as 100 percent certainty that if he didnt get the assurance and commitment that he is gonna be able to compete as a actual QB he wasnt signing here

Dru Brown also wasn't sho horned into what they made Strev do...Flip the roles around...and you would all be asking...who's Dru Brown??....Yet Strev even with all the misuse...and abuse...is still relevant...Dru Brown had an alright season in Ottawa...not earth shattering by any means and looked better here than he did there...was he a benefactor of his environment...guess we shall see how he does in 2025...same with Strev if afforded the chance to play QB like he was promised

Yeah I think both were insurance with not knowing if Strev be ready....that being said if they keep one...I think Dolegala wou;d have been the better one to keep tho...

I agree - Buck really, really miss-used Strev - and he deserves a chance in camp to secure a spot.

Buck didnt know how to use half his assets...One the bigger signings is Jarius...even tho not the O.C he definitely knows how to utilize players, and am sure he will have a big input in the playbook and game day offensive quality control...and I bet we see lotsa Logan....and Demski back to being more diversified...Can see Clercius being an important piece too

Both of those guys are near useless and were barely camp arms. This year is indeed the Strev and Collaros Show, and while the 3rd spot MIGHT be open, Wilson certainly has a leg up if for no other reason than he's been here awhile, has played some, and be pretty much plug n play this year (with the caveat that it's a new OC with a slightly different playbook)

I think it’s safe to say

1. Zach 2. Strev 3. Open.

Wilson is easily as solid in qb3 as Strev is at qb2.

I thought Patterson would go before Doelgala. At least Dolegala can pass the ball. Of course, neither is particularly good.

I don’t care for either. Glad one is gone. One more to go.

I don’t think Wilson is guaranteed anything. That competition is for his spot. But I’d imagine unless the UCLA kid comes in and shines, it’s Zach Strev Wilson and Elgersma stashed for a year. They may stash both ucla kid and the Canadian cannon. I’m tired of military nicknames but dudes got an arm. Kid Canada taken. Air Canada taken. Canadian Cannon it is.
