I don't understand why Cornelius is still on the Elks roster.

Me neither. I would just eat the 100k and thank him for his services. The only thing I can think of is that the Esks want to make sure that Ford doesn't bolt during the NFL window which seems like a very remote of a chance to me.

$100k if he's on the roster January 15th, 2024.

That's before anyone can talk to Dru, unless they trade for his rights.

In 2024, Cornelius will collect $100,000 for being on the Elks’ active roster on Jan. 15 with and an additional $46,500 for reporting to training camp and passing his physical, a $200,000 base salary, half of which is guaranteed under the terms of the latest collective bargaining agreement, along with the same housing and travel available. This totals $370,000 in hard money plus the potential to earn an additional $40,000 for being the team’s starter.

$100,000 of his 2024 base salary is guaranteed.

Yep, and that is on top of his 100k roster bonus on Jan. 15

Yes Chris Jones really is a mad genius!

If Jones cut him, I'd take him over Prukop, at least he still has the potential to be rehabbed.

Nope, I don't see what you're seeing.

If he ever transitions from trusting too much in his arm to trusting his reads, he would be a gooder.

He's big, young, can run like a deer in open space and best of all, heavy balls.

Prukop as a 3rd down QB I'm fine with.   As the 2nd string... no.

Still, it would be good to find a short-yardage, younger QB who has potential for a higher ceiling than the very limited Prukop.

I don't care for Prukop one bit, but holy Christ, Corny is even worse..... that's a hard no.

I can't figure out what limits him or any other QB with the right athleticism and tools, as Prukop received the same input as Brown and has a better body for the job.  Is it intelligence, confidence, dedication to the craft, competitiveness, or the case that they may not have been a dominant player from a very young age, forged at birth.  It's a mystery.

If you can figure that out, you will have a stellar career in football management.

I think the line between a successful CFL starter and a bum is extremely thin. That's why veteran QBs can lose their mojo so suddenly, especially after a serious injury.

Like imagine if Doug Flutie was a quarter second slower at processing the game?  He'd be a short yardage specialist or gadget quarterback instead of a GOAT.

They don't have to make a decision on Cornelius until January 15th.

Nope..and I doubt they will until they are certain Ford is committed

It would be such a Jones move to sign MBT & move Ford to slot.

MBT is a short-term solution for the Elks. Another year for Ford to learn.

Doesn’t a qb need to be able to throw a ball? Ford can’t.

Yeah Ford reminds me of a more talented brandon bridge. I don't think Ford cuts it as a full time starter, but what do I know

I still think Ford can figure it out. I have faith.

Ford needs more development. Get MBT and set up a Ford package of plays. Use him like we did with Strev.
