I used to think that, no matter what, since they can catch passes for TDs or were almost always fed the ball inside the 5 yard line. But now QBs are the ones keeping the ball on the goal line in short yardage (3 of the 4 top TD totals last year came from QBs), so it isn't a given. And the majority of 2 point conversion tries seem to be passes rather than runs.
