They arrogantly thought that simply having hockey would be a license to print money, they forgot that people don't want to watch a shitty hockey broadcast.

My heart was hoping for CBC but my head knows that wasn't happening...

CBC formally abandoned pro sports (other than hockey) some time ago.

Rogers sacked the entire Breakfast TV crew here in Calgary yesterday. Eleven people were fired.

True , I guess they pretty much have abandoned pro sports, at least being the primary carrier.

Yes, I'm not even sure what they have anymore? Curling? I don't think so. Olympics? It's shared, if anything. What else?

No curling for sure. olympics is shared withTSN and technically that’s not pro sports.

And, I think, with the Olympics, it's the same as NHL, they get the Florida's of the Olympics. They "test" events.

CBC splits WCT curling with Sportsnet same as hockey. Most of it is Sportsnet but they do show some on CBC.

If (when) the Bombers win tomorrow, can we have a 24 hour moratorium on dumping on the players and coaches? Like, can we just enjoy the win for a short period of time?

rest assured if we win time will be spent rightly dumping on the Riders.

You can thank Myron Baloney for that. He ordered CBC to divest itself of all professional and especially popular sports telecasting so as to not compete with private broadcasters.

Who is Myron Baloney?

CBC was broadcasting CFL up until 2007. I really liked Khari Jones as a color guy when he worked with old Steve.
