2019 CFL Season: Around the League

Pre season action 1PM PT

BC at Edmonton

3 Areas To Watch

Number 2 Pivot: Who Steps Up?

BC - Ricky Lloyd and first-year Leos Austin Apodaca and Cole Sears will handle the quarterback reps in hopes of getting a leg up on sticking behind Reilly on the depth chart.

Edmonton- Danny O’Brian, Logan Kilgore, Briscoe.

- One big observation in the first week of camp is the depth at receiver. Standouts at the position have included Joey Augustin, Marquis Bundy and Mexican additions Fernando Richarte and Gerardo Alvarez. All CFL clubs are required to keep one global player on their roster beyond training camp.

- Defensive Line: Calling On Another Bookend

With Odell Willis having another strong showing in camp, the big question remains who will line up as the other bookend.

- Linebacker Adam Konar gets to battle some of his own teammates after he was cut loose and quickly picked up by the Lions on day one of camp. He’ll start at MLB

Jennings has looked pretty awful the last few games he played the Bombers. More Masoli lite where big arm but dumb decisions.

Reilly? Doesn't look as good without receivers making circus catches tho

Jon Jennings is Reilly-lite?? Maybe Casey Printers-lite.......

Ok, more like extra pale - I’m mainly referring to their over reliance on the deep ball.

Let's pretend Jennings isn't a bad QB

He has kicked the Bombers butts before, I wouldn't take him lightly.

 Week 19/2017

JENNINGS, Jonathon     30/40

75.0% 408 4 1

Week 19? So he played against mostly our backups?

I remember his success was when he was rolling out of the pocket and chucking it deep and letting one of his superstar receivers getting it on broken plays.

Listen, anything can happen "any given Sunday" (or Friday, as it were), but based on where we are right now and where Ottawa is, in terms of talent and injuries, there is no way we should lose to Jon Jennings....anything can happen, but it shouldn't.

I don't think so, in 2017 the Bombers were fighting with the Esks. for a home playoff game right down to the wire, they both ended up 12-6.

That loss in 2016 WSF still smarts, though we would have been pounded into the ground in the WF by Calgary anyway.  Still, like to see Jennings get rag-dolled a few times. Amazing how far that guy has fallen.  He was "the next one" in BC two years ago.

He fuqn sucks

I'm taking him lightly. Im not worried about one game 2 years ago where we were likely playing for nothing in week 19 as we hosted the WSF anyway.

Ehh, maybe but if I recall right we had actually nearly pulled a major come from behind win at McMahan not too long before.  They only beat us cuz Parades made this ridiculous 54 yarder or however long that was.

Think the issue would have been more O'Shea's inexperience though considering that 61 yarder by Medlock should never have been attempted.

Right, that was the game I was thinking about.

JENNINGS, Jonathon

26/35  74.3% 329   2   1

If only Medlock could kick a 61 yard field goal.

yes.  20 seconds on the clock.  Bo only needed 16 seconds to get into FG range.  Just killer.

Or if only O'Shea would have allowed the offense to pick up those measly 3 yards.  Although ....

I suppose there could have been a danger of Lapolice outsmarting himself in that situation with the play call.

Mostly Burnham & Arceneaux.

You just gave Tburg a reason to be waiting in the weeds.
