Around the League - Regular Season Discussion (Redux)

Training camp is over .... adjustments have been made  and its time for the opening kickoff

Anybody change their minds on how preseason changed their expectations for this year .... Montreal thrashing Ottawa changed mine .... cutting Willy raise my hopes for the Argos .... Edmonton looks stronger than I first thought and Regina even worse

For the first time in years I am forecasting Winnipeg finishes first in the league  .. just an optimistic hunch .... I forecast these final standings:

Winnipeg

Calgary

Vancouver

Edmonton

Ottawa

Montreal

Toronto

Hamilton

Regina

RB's sign seven including Intzandt release one.  Not sure how that math works but that's a fairly extensive player infusion this early into the season.

Wally's going to be pissed, two years in a row Riders have poached young Natl. talent.  Sure Zver didn't know the Riders would pick him up when he declined the PR spot.

ADDED TO PRACTICE ROSTER:

ADDED TERRITORIAL JUNIOR:

  • National linebacker Tom Schnitzler (Saskatoon Hilltops)

RELEASED:

  • National linebacker Mike Dubuisson
  • International defensive lineman D.J. Pettway
    • International defensive lineman Davis Tull

I really liked both Tull and Pettway.  I think someone will have a look at Tull

man...revolving door there...again....

Jone's & Murphy's 90-man expansion practice roster is in full force again.

....time for some more Jones projects...

1. Surprised on Newsome. Thought he was decent and that they really liked him.

2. Notice Jones is the only guy who nabs players off the PR? ******.

Ok......    I got nothin'

Surprised it's DL they are axing (Tull and Newsome) when it appears it's their secondary that sucks the most ass

Maybe they'll get rid of the DEs and convert some of their receivers to DE. LOL.

"Loss a mere footnote"

Wish I had thought of that.   Would of cut down on gin consumption, for all those years

I always though with the amount of receivers and their talent,  they would have been wiser to just convert some of them to DB (maybe someone like Grant or even Demski before Bagg got hurt) since they would likely be familiar with routes and patterns..etc. Seems like such a waste to abandon the blitz in favor of trying to have a DL help coverage.

Count me in on the surprised they have yet to axe a DB camp. I mean if you're starting Jovon, you've got issues. Speaking of which, Don Unamba is starting for the Als.

Will be kinda weird looking into the stands in Regina....and seeing everyone in their tear-away jerseys.

Zver was never on the PR, he declined it.  Little different from poaching someone off the PR as BC never had the chance to activate him.
