3 stars + HH week 3

A lot of guys deserve stars even though the game was a bit sloppy and a bit one half good one half bad again.

1 Poop johnson. 1 sack 1 tackle not crazy numbers but he was such a menace up the middle. Again collapsing the pocket constantly and making qbs throw with an OL in their lap.

2 Taylor loffler. Its not often a good sign when your S has 9 tackles. But he was laying the wood early and often and i constantly saw argos WRs even sj green, with alligator arms, and looking around for him. We havent had that kind of intimidation over the top since terry ray.

3 Soo many guys deserve a spot. Heath, dressler, jeffcoat, but im going with harris. He was a spark early and often and did great tonight despite not having a hole to run through nearly the whole game.

hh Gotta go with the lankford TD, was great to have an early lead and spark.

Not sure what was a worse call. That or last week's draw play on 2nd and 10 down 16 with under five minutes left in the game.

Lapo gonna Lapo.

Both of those calls remind me of this:

That was a good game... I'll even give Hurl props for that one.  Poop is a beast, so is Harris, so is Medlock.

Leggett and Heath both want to be INT league leaders...

Nichols and Lapo are a bit off, that should work itself out - just keep getting Harris 15-20 touches and some screens.

if we could find the balance of running harris like tnite and still using him in those screens our offense could really take a step forward. But it seems like when ever we run through out the game we forget about the screen and when we screen we get away from the run.

I rarely agree with Mr. Perfect... but Lapo gonna Lapo.

Numero uno- has to be Medlock.

Numero due- dressler for being clutch

numero tres- Heath, he owns the d backfield

Happy Honker- Loffler punishing the Argo receivers.

and a very honorable mention to the IGF Security staff for escorting out from the north end zone area the biggest jerk in the entire stadium. Oh, did I mention he was wearing a rider jersey #89 Getzlaff? A complete nimrod that typifies the average rider fan. He was looking to start something. A provacateur that I'd swear, was begging for a thrashing. Rider fans have even more to be ashamed of and they weren't even playing. Honestly, it's beyond jokes. What the F is wrong with those people?

They ran a couple screens but the did not connect or Argos read them pretty good.

Hardrick and the rest of the O-line for allowing zero sacks on Nichols.

D also did not give up a TD tonight.

Yup, The big boys played a hell of a game ,plus Matty made quick decisions with the ball.

Great quote from Harris in Tait's post-game review piece....said on one of the runs "it was the hardest 2 yards of my life". He ran HARD last night, and also said those runs "...really deflate the defense, I'll tell you that..."

Almost.

You can get counselling for week moments like that...

Saw that idiot being escorted out. Hope they handed him off to the boys in blue to drop off into the drunk tank.

My 3 stars would be:

#1. The D line. First play of the game Poop gets a sack and sent a strong message. Whole line was solid. I agree 55 has to get his penalties under control.

#2. Harris. His will to succeed is second to none. I shudder to think where we'd be without him.

#3. Medlock = money. I'll saw it again....he absolutely hammered that long range field goal, and he's worth every penny we pay him.

HH. Defensive secondary, particularly Loffler, and Heath.

Don't blame Westerman for the offsides he was trying to time up snap. Looked like there might of been a flinch my the Argo across from him.

Other than that a very clean game penalty wise 4 for 25 yards.

anytime I see people post "he's gotta work on those penalties in practice" and **** like that, it drives me bonkers, 'cause you clearly have no idea what you're talking about. It's like the Riders fans and media who say "that guy plays some good defense/offense!!" Oiiiii....

Westerman being held like a baby on every single play....he's just looking to get every advantage he can. Dude works hard and opens up space for other people.

Saw that guy outside gate 3 at the end of the game. He found someone to take to him up.

Lapo gonna Lapo.

The thing with the draw plays is, when it works it's a great gutsy call and when it doesn't it's an awful call. Damned if you do damned if you don't.

1)  The entire defence...not 1 player stood out in a bad way.  A solid effort with good pressure on Ray and great run defence.

2) Dressler...I shudder to think what this offence would look like without him.  Right now he's our only receiver that has stood out this year.  Denny and Adam's have looked good at times but nothing like Dressler.

3) Medlock...nothing else to say.

While the defence is coming together. The offence is still struggling and it wont be enough to win against some of the better teams.  If the offence can gel then the team would be unstoppable.  But if not we're looking at a 9-9 record at best.

case in point.  Less than 2 minutes left and your offence has the ball and needs to kill the clock.   Good offences find a way to get it done.  We gave them a chance to tie the game but thankfully the defence came up for us once again.

These first half's....especially 1st quarters on O.....not close to good enough, right now.

Production has been, frankly....terrible.   We seem reluctant to throw a pass more than 8 yds down the field, to start games - or at least, just aim them vertically, period.

Knox got eaten up by Coombs and Whitaker in coverage.  They blitzed him a ton and that worked.

he did but that will come I think with more time on the field at game speed.  he doesn't lack quicks or lateral movement..  He may have also gassed a bit seeing he hasn't been doing double duty before.

this is the Harris (and a RB in general) that i've been waiting to see.  He really put his head down and fought for some tough yards tonight.  he never stopped fighting either.   He still looked like he had plenty in the tank towards the end of the game.  Very glad we have him in Blue and Gold and that he still has that refuse to quit mentality.  Some of his runs last night reminded me of Roberts with his "hit at first contact but still get 4-6 yards" style of bouncing around.

He's been doing this from Day 1....

Maybe but last night really seemed like he couldn't be stopped. can't say that for the game before and some others.  I agree hes always been a hard runner since joining the bombers but last night was Vintage Harris.. the kind of running he would do against us lol.

But incredibly when we had a chance to kill the clock. Lapo thinks its the 1st quarter and calls a high risk play to Washington who couldn't catch a cold last night.  Classic Lapo

iirc we had 90 yards on sub 50% in the first half and some thing like 125? offensive yards. Some thing like 2.3 yards per attempt or completion. If that keeps up buck could be the OC by LD.

ya that was one really odd decision. not sure if he was hoping to catch them napping, assuming we would run it... but he almost out-thought himself on that one.

He seems to always try to do the unexpected.  But sometimes it's like "let's hide our drugs at the police station because that's the last place they would expect."
