  1. very impressed and pleased with the whole team.....very impressed with our offensive line, and no one has mentioned it yet but Cummings and Shologan both had good games as well. Our safety is a total keeper, Loffler brings the big boom and don't under estimate the effect those hits have on the whole team ( never mind the other team's receivers)
  2. Isn't it amazing what some confidence can do for the team?? Replacing the struggling quarter back kick started the whole process, and a few other replacements such as the safety has really energized the team. Certainly helps to have a kicker who can kick, and a running back that was clearly hurting last night but wouldn't be denied.
  3. awesome post again "do or die".....the boys were slow out of the gate, especially Nichols, but definitely got stronger as the game wore on.
  4. I totally agree. Nichols wasn't very good at all to start the game. But he ( and the coaching staff ) fought through it and things worked out. Additionally some of the other changes we have made on the line, receiver, and safety have really made a huge difference.
  5. I agree that the team has definitely responded to the replacement of Willy. If Nichols was to be injured then obviously we would go back to Willy, and that would be his last chance to prove himself to his teammates the coaching staff and of course us. Loffler certainly looks to be a keeper, and certainly helps with the ratio. Macho isn't coming back any time soon. I hope Hardrick isn't out long term, I certainly like what he brings.
  6. shoulder
  7. A pick six really hurts your rating.
  8. 2 games in a row we came out of the gate and played like we meant it. All phases of our team in the first half were good.....no....great! I said to my wife we were really going to see how mentally strong our team is in the second half with a 34 point lead. I wasn't surprised we had a let down, but it still wasn't catastrophic. And really it was mostly the offence that went into cruise control. I kept waiting for them to try and play Fantuz straight up on Loffler, and they never really isolated him. Loffler's interception was a jump ball with Fantuz. Loffler looks like a keeper and a great draft. And man i'm too old for 5 hours sleep after spending 7 hours at the stadium!
  9. My wife and I stuck it out as well.....$21 for a shock top and a glass of wine Yikes!
  10. I really like what Medlock has brought to our team. "okay boys I'm kicking it to the right corner" and he does it.....every time. Same with kick-offs they have a plan and he kicks it to the spot he's supposed to. Coupled with the hang time results in great coverage. The first guy missed Fogg every time last night, it was pretty obvious they had designed returns as well. Really liked our ST play last night.
  11. It's a combination of both......developing and learning the game as a #3 or #4, and then getting a chance. Luck ( injuries ahead on the depth chart ) definitely plays a role. Regardless of the sport actually. Every time I watch Davis in warm-ups I wonder why he doesn't get a chance. Give him a razzle-dazzle play on short yardage to boost his confidence.
  12. As Tracker said we gotta pound the rock, rely on the crowd noise, and hope for some chemistry with the new receivers. Additionally, not get too far ahead of ourselves.
  13. Was very impressed with Bond, undoubtedly that has contributed to Harris being able to rush the ball. Loffler is a keeper, but lets hedge our bets for another game. We'll see after that.
  14. The team was energized right from the start. Perhaps the new quarter-back?? Honestly I think the team has decided Drew Willy is not the answer. I guess we shall see. We physically dominated that game, and I think the weather delay saved Edmonton from a massive beat down. So happy for the players, it's about time. Now let's see if we can string 2 wins together.
  15. Agree with almost all of this, and I think you have summed it up very well......it's premature to say he's finished, but he's certainly standing on the edge of the cliff. I think the leash is very short with Nichols, if we get blown out I expect to see Davis play. I'll be surprised if Willy gets to play at all in Edmonton. And if any of the quarter backs we have here other than Willy can deliver then Willy will definitely be gone at the end of the year. Unlike the NHL these contracts aren't guaranteed, he gets big money this year, and if he can't rekindle his mojo, he may not get anything next year.
  16. Injuries really caught us last game. Any report on what the issue is with Neufeld?? I bet LBI
  17. I've been wondering about this all season and most of last.
  18. Most of the time I agree with Tracker, however I really don't feel this is a "trap" game. We have nothing to lose, Willy in all likelihood is playing himself out of a job. ( yes I'm changing my tune ). Nicholls will be very motivated and fired up to play his old team. That may be enough to inspire and rally the guys to play better and with more determination. Someone else posted that being a Bomber fan right now is "exhausting". That poster couldn't be more right.
  19. And finally, should anyone really be surprised when the Canadian kids get a chance that they go balls to the walls?? This has been their dream since they were in pee-wee football, and they know, because of course the American players are better, that they won't get too many chances. Trouble with the reasoning about American players is......the Canadian players are HUNGRIER.
  20. Have the Bombers released an injury report?? Hardrick hurt his eye, but I'm not sure what happened to Neufeld. BTW we have serious trouble on our offensive line and no spare parts. I expect to see someone brought in to rectify this or maybe a trade.
  21. Both of my sons played football with good and bad quarterbacks. When a team has an energized quarterback that leads the team through his play, that ripples down to the entire team, and up into the stands to the fans. And of course the opposite occurs with a bad quarterback, leading to fights in the stands! I won't be surprised if Willy starts in Edmonton, but Nicholls has to get extra reps on the 1st team offence this week. We simply have to do something. Oh and I'm not sure La Po is the right guy either....
  22. I'm thinking the same thing......when's our bye-week, that's when I expect to see some changes of both players and coaches. Something has to change, someone has to fire the guys up, and a few people need to be held accountable for what we're seeing on the field.
  23. Although I'm a STH I chose to work today and listen to the game on the radio. Irving called it boys playing against men in the fist half. I'm more and more convinced it's the coaching......apparently they knew every time we were going to run the ball in the first half?? That's on LaPo. I watched the 2nd half, agreed with the timing of the QB change, I hope and expect that the leash is even shorter next game.
  24. I lost track of all the injuries after 5 guys......2 offensive linemen and 3 db's....surprised we stayed in the game as long as we did really
  25. Very good article to start this thread!! Here's my 2 pennies worth: MOS must make some major changes. They need to include a change at the QB position should the offence continue to struggle. I believe the o'line coach needs to be changed. The OC is awful predictable, but we're stuck with him. The hitch screen doesn't work because our receivers aren't blocking properly.....I recall one play last week when both Edmonton receivers chopped down our DB's right after the catch resulting in a big gain for them. That's aggression and we don't have it. I'm fixated on the offence because they can't stay on the field....FIX IT !!
