Did the quarter-back take too long in the pocket ( hello Drew Willy ), did the receiver not run the right route and delay the whole play?? There's more to it, it's a team game and team responsibilities....

Medlock is a proven kicker, and a great free agent signing. As I type this I'm just wondering.....do we hang onto Castillo and TRADE him rather than cut him? Trade him for a player in a position we need some help with?? Hate to see him go for nothing.....

good for him! He's going to be a great addition to the team.

The last of my thoughts on the game: I really liked Corney, McDuffie, Flanders, Wild and Collins. I was really impressed with the arm strength of QB Davis, and I think someone must've spoken to QB Bennett after a couple of soft throws because then he started zinging the ball as well. Feel bad for Keeping, at this stage in his career he needs maybe to think of his long term health. I did like #91 Hubbard, but have to agree the more he played the slower he seemed to move. Castillo will get a chance in this league, but not here.

You can't make the club from the tub!! Did he get hurt again?? I expect he starts the season on the PR. And where was the Vitt kid we drafted?? Is he hurt??

I really liked this article about the team. Well worth the read. He's obviously had time to review the game and look at players closely.

I'd have to look at that video of Corney again to see if he played strictly on the one side in college, but he was definitely stronger rushing against the left tackle. He does have great speed, and I believe he got credit for 2 sacks.

We hardly saw anything of either Willy or Nichols. But what we have at #3 and #4 is so improved from the past 2 seasons it's difficult to put into words. We have depth and skill at the qb position, and we should all breathe a sigh of relief over that!

I guess that's his preferred side but it's something he's going to have to work on. I liked Intzandt, and Couture got a surprise on his very first play when he got beaten for a sack.

I've known Louie for a long time...he played with my son at the U of M. Sure hope it's not his Achilles as that would be a season-ender, and potentially the end of his career.

I know someone quite well who went to Bomber camp after being told to get bigger.....he could squat 500lbs, and bench 400......but he lost his speed and mobility. With a rather predictable result......

I agree getting cut in the off season at least gets the player an opportunity to try to find another team to play for, and being cut at the end of training camp ( which happened to my son twice with 2 different teams ) leaves virtually no opportunity for the player.

It really bothers me that players in the CFL can be released prior to their contract bonuses being paid out.....makes me sick actually. Then we have the NHL players with their guaranteed contracts. There needs to be a something in the middle of that. NHL players should be able to be cut, and CFL players need teams to honour the contracts that they have with players. I don't know what the answer is, but being cut days ahead of roster bonuses sucks.

IMO the only way we can possibly look at the changes is positively......MB's long overdue departure has occurred and we have replaced him with arguably the best available OC in LaPo. The signings in free agency have also seriously improved our team and I'm excited for the season!

I PVR'd the game last night to watch some high school football at IG field. Here's my thoughts: Did Rod Black and Dwayne Ford know there were 2 teams playing?? I thought their colour commentary was disgustingly one-sided. I liked Davis at QB, he throws a fastball faster than Burris!! He's a keeper IMO. Too bad his receivers let him down repeatedly..... Liked Marshall and thought he ran with grit, determination and power. I guess we might need to look for a punter, seems we don't have a current kicker who can do everything. Thought the defense played okay at times, we have some work to do there though. Has MB been fired yet?? Has Brohm been released yet??

Oh and bring back Marshall and Pontbriand, although I would look at drafting a Canadian full back to challenge him.

I thought it was quite interesting the number of former players on the Ottawa coaching staff. At least 4 names stood out for me. My vote is to fire MB and promote Buck Pearce. We need changes on the defense, I don't get these huge cushions our DB's give, especially when you can rub and jostle within the 5 yards. Our offence is offensive, and not getting better. MB has to go. Nicholls I think is taking too long to decide whether to throw or run, resulting in sacks, and we all saw him make some rather poor decisions yesterday. That being said, I want him back, and Brohm gone. Somebody else mentioned it earlier, lets draft a left guard and get a new o'line coach.

I totally agree with this......bring in some guys now when the PR is expanded, and see what, if anything, they have. If it works out then they can be offered a TC spot next year. If it doesn't then we move on, and we don't waste a spot next spring.
