I don't think anyone disagrees with this... problem is consistency... we saw that penalty called earlier in the game (I can't remember the play but I remember saying to my friend I'm surprised they didn't give them a free play)... at that point the precedent is set... so it needs to be called that way going forward...

Funny I actually said this at the beginning of the season... I suggested that the coaches felt the "sum of parts" was better with Nevis, Poop, and Hurl starting... rather than Thomas, Nevis and Import MLB...

I'm a little surprised Neufeld was re-signed... I thought he might look for a starting job/pay raise somewhere else... but I guess he knows he has a chance to start if Bond is gone... curious to know if he's taken more/less/same amount of money...

Does Brett Jones count? I like this idea... assuming Medlock is on board with the pay/responsibilities decrease... then we have a game-day back up at both positions... and Briere can get some valuable lessons from one of the best...

I actually completely agree with you here... I still cannot believe how criminally underused Harris is... the guy had 120 yards on 15 touches Sunday... so my first question is why didn't he have 25 touches?? ... And he was playing with more heart than anyone I've seen in a long time... I say every game, give 33 the ball!... we were joking that they finally figured out how to get that first play after a short yardage with LeFevour working... he hands the ball to Harris...

This is really interesting... because my thought when watching it live (confirmed via replay) is the execution was poor... it looked like someone whiffed the block on Watson and he was able to saunter into the backfield to make the tackle... BTW, why is Cory Watson a better tackler than half of our defense?? I didn't say a comeback was likely... but a team is not letting off the gas with that score and that much time left in a CFL game....

I disagree with point one so I would get into an argument about it... but this is a good point... I'll start off by saying I like Walters and O'Shea and I hope (want) them to be the guys to get us over the current drought... but maybe you're right... maybe they are just good enough to get us back to the point of competitiveness and respectability... but not quite the guys to get us over the hump... well, I think we'll have at least next year to find out... This is a really confusing statement... Dressler going for 9 catches, 114 yards and 2 TDs is the reason we lost?? I agree we need another top end receiver or two... but Dressler is the least of our concerns...

I'm not sure if Lankford dresses... the DIs will be Medlock, Wild, Flanders (if he's healthy) then the 4th will be either Knox or Lankford... the fact that Fogg is listed as the KR and PR leads me to believe no Lankford.... I would rather see Knox sit and have an additional weapon available for offense and teams... Briggs and Miles bring just as much as Knox on D... but we all know O'Shea loves linebackers!

That's actually the first thing I noticed when I saw the announcements... Now I think Trestman will win and he deserves it... taking a team from tire fire to 9-9 and a playoff spot is impressive (I'm ignoring the fact that he won the east b/c that's not much of a feat these days)... But for the west nominee... I would have Maas, O'Shea, and (*shudder*) Jones ahead of Dickenson for coaching performances this year... hate to admit it but going from 5 wins to 10 and a playoff spot should have been good for the nomination IMO... I won't admit which coach I'm talking about...

It actually goes to show you how impressive Alex Singleton's season has been... under normal circumstances, if a Canadian leads the league in rushing (or receiving) they are a lock to win the MOC... the fact that Singleton is in the running is all the more impressive... I wonder if some voters might actually take into account that Harris is a "true" Canadian... rather than an American with citizenship... I doubt anyone admits it, but that might be a factor for some of the hard core CFL traditionalists...

I think you're stretching the definition of "criticize"... so far it appears to me that most people would like to see more from Givens and Washington... maybe one will step up and prove he belongs... which I would agree with...
