I personally think Nichols still has five good years left... but if two years from now Streveler has developed into a great QB and Nichols still wants to start... we would be in an unfortunate situation of having to choose Strev and move on from Nichols... But like many have mentioned... it's a great problem to have... and we'll cross that bridge when we get there...

I'm guessing one of those two is a scratch along with Foketi...

Another thing I love about this team... they are developing some real nastiness... while avoiding the flags... Our D-line is looking to crush everyone in sight... and you better believe opposing defensive players will think twice before taking a shot at Harris or a QB with Goossen, Hardrick and Chungh on the field...

I gotta say... I read through this thread and while it seems a lot of people are (rightfully) gleeful over the Riders misery... I don't see anyone wishing any ill will on Zach Callaros... nobody with an ounce of decency wants to see another person suffer from a concussion...

They certainly look like they have the potential to go the ever coveted 0-18... but it's the CFL... they'll fluke at least 2 or 3 wins in there somewhere...

The funny thing is that Julian was a productive receiver... and we soooo happy just to have a serviceable Cdn WR... now we have 4 that (so far) appear to be better than that one we had a couple years ago...

Jennings - Lulay in BC is fairl;y comparable also... I think the best thing about Streveler's play isn't if he is going to steal the starter's job... it's that we don't need to rush Matt back due to desperation... if Matt isn't ready week 7 or 8 and Streveler is still playing great, then you keep rolling wit him... when Matt comes back, he's 100%

I would guess the plan is that Buck will develop nicely into an OC role once LaPo is ready to move on.... I know LaPo has strong roots here but I could see him leaving if the right HC job came up...

This is the perfect description of why this is such a bone headed decision... you downgrade two positions... I would bet there's at least five DBs cuts from other teams that would be far better players that Carter... The most recent that immediately came to mind was in 2013 against BC... it was painful... Buck Pierce played half the game for them after we traded him to BC for insurance... which is weird b/c I was pretty sure I had suppressed the memory of the entire 2013 season...

I'm still amazed that was a penalty... I get when it's way behind the play, it's dangerous... buy the guy he hit was still very much in the chase to get the runner... I didn't see anything other than a good block... I thought one of Tompkins or Randle would make the team but I was a little surprised it was Tompkins... they both showed the ability to win a one on one battle for a td... that's a skill we desperately will need with a rookie (ish) qb chucking the ball...

I'm no expert on defenses... but I feel like Loffler spent a lot of time in the box filling in for other players deficiencies last year... With Bighill and JSK on the field I feel that Loffler will be able to play a more true free safety role...

I'm pretty sure that Kate played university ball in Canada... also, those were 3-pointers, not free throws!

I don't really worry about this kind of thing for 2 reasons... 1) even if we had Durant, I still think we'd be SOL if Nichols missed significant time... If Nichols only had to miss a game or two, then yes, I'd prefer a proven vet to a raw rookie... and 2) every team is more or less in the same territory unless they happen to have a diamond in the rough at #2...

Not that I was taking it seriously in the first place... but as soon as I saw that, I knew it was a complete joke...

Hard to imagine it's not Fenner - Bighill - JSK.... I'm also assuming Leggett won't be back to 100...
