  1. Wow, have you lived a sheltered life. For every one bad Ti Cat poster there are 500 Priders on the internet throwing around ****. Sorry, but i will have to disagree iso. Yes, there are more douchey rider posters out there in total but that has to do with the sheer volume of their fanbase. I find the ratio of douchey/respectable posters to be much higher amongst Ticat fans vs. Rider fans. Ticat fans are driven by extreme fanboyism and arrogance which is surprising considering their terrible recent history (only1 cup in nearly 30 years). Onemoredork and a couple ticat fans who were banned from the other bomber sites come to mind. Rider fans are by far the douchiest if only because there are so many false fans. I know lots of people who call themselves diehard rider fans who know less about their team then everyone on this website. Too many bandwagon jumpers. At least the obnoxious ticat fans are actually fans. Well, I think one thing we can all agree on. The douchiest fan happens to be a rider fan, Migs. Saw him trolling on the Stampeder site the other day.
  2. Just because Berry was a better coach than any Bomber coach that came after him doesn't mean he was a good coach. Because he certainly wasn't. HIs out of control raging on the sideline coupled with emotion-based decision making with the challenge flag that rarely resulted in overturning of a play in the Bombers' favour as opposed to using cool rational judgement. Grey Cup 2007 trying to challenge a challenge flag Brilliant Doug, that's worse than any coaching mistake from Lapo or Burke! Berry is the type of fiery coach who only lasts three years before the players start tuning him out. It happened early in his third season here and it would most likely would happen here again should the team be foolish enough to hire him as head coach. I guess I would be OK with him as the OC although I think the Bombers could do better. The Bomber offense was only ever above average for the first ten games or so of the 2007 season during his tenure. Otherwise, it was consistently below average. Yes, I know we had Kevin Glenn at the helm his entire stay but the offense had three pretty good receivers in Armstron, Stegall and Edwards and a pretty good running back in Roberts and a solid O-line.

  4. If it's a high draft pick it's probably a first, maybe a second (11th overall). Third rounders aren't high.I'll go with Reilly although I think Collaros will have a good career as well. Called it prior to the 2013 season - said Reilly would pass for 4000+ yards and pass for 20+ TDs and stuck with that expert prognostication despite strong objections expressed by several forum members here. He's already a star QB in spite of a weak Edmonton O-line and he will remain one for several years to come. Didn't we trade away our 2nd rounder in the Neufeld/Hall trade? Yeah you're right. Probably a first rounder then. That's pretty high but we are desparate for a starter. Maybe we swap a first for a later pick (3rd or 4th rounder) as part of the package for Zach?
  5. Would rather see Riders win. I've soured on the Ticats over the last few years due to the douchiness of several Ticat posters.

  7. but it wasn't unsucessful either. I mean it was Kevin Glenn in Hamilton let's not forget. They were a decent offense if memory serves. Nothing outstanding but not terrible either. I don't think that's so bad considering, especially for his first go running an offence. It's worth noting though that Glenn's numbers were considerably better in 2010 vs. 2011 when Khari was the OC.
  8. It was noted in one of the papers that the Bombers had plenty of cap room left. I believe BUrke said that. IN fact, I think they were pretty well at the league minimum. $300,000 can get you quite an upgrade in players for your team. An extra $100,000 can provide you with good to average Qbing (Glenn and Reilly) vs. below-average to terrible QBing (hall and Goltz), an extra $100,000 can provide you with huge upgrades on your O-line (Best and Labatte) vs. terrible to below-average lineman (Morley and Boatman), an extra $100,000 can provide you with an elite receiver or two (Fantuz or Dressler) vs. average and inconsistent receivers (Denmark and Etienne). If the Bombers had wisely spent their remaining cap space under Joe Mack on positions of need, the team woul have been a playoff contender. As it was, he decided to be stubborn and spend the lowest possible amounts on key positions like Qb and the O-line. The results of this decision-making speaks for itself.
  9. This is what I was wondering about in another thread. Pinball didn't strike me as much of an Xs and Os type of guy, but he did seem like the type of coach who could get the most out of his players - they would run through a brick wall for him. Khari could be the same kind of coach. No way of knowing for sure right now. However, if the Bombers are not able to hire the appropriate experienced coordinators then it will be that much more unlikely Khari will succeed...assuming he becomes head coach in the first place.
  10. He'll wind up as third string with the Lions and then have everyone here ***** and moan all next season about how great he was and wishing he were still here? Haha. Well, not everyone kbf. Just certain posters. Elliott's only there because of the injuries to the other QBs. Wally just wanted someone with any experience to fill in the third string position..even it it's a qb who craps the bed every second game like Eliott.
  11. Up to late September I know the Bombers had one of the highest TD ratios in the red zone in the whole league. When Goltz was in it was automatic six points inside the 5. Remember in 2010 when getting in from the one was a dicey situation. Goltz's redzone numbers are misleading. The fact he barely made it to the red zone at all in every single one of his games provides enough of a sample as to what kind of a QB he is - a bad one. He will be released. Another team might pick him up as a third stringer, but he won't last long there either. Will go the way of Joey Elliott and Brink.
  12. In my lifetime the Bombers have won 7 Grey Cups. Six of them were won by Head Coaches who, when we hired them, were Rookies. Check out the support staff the likes of Mike Riley had. Cal Murphy as Gm for starters. TBURGESS did mention that a rookie head coach needs a good support staff with experience. Riley had that. If the Bombers go with inexperienced management and inexperienced coaching staff all around, it's asking for trouble.
  13. Would Pinball Clemons be a good comparison if Khari is hired as head coach here? Pinball never struck me as a tactician, although I could be wrong about that. He struck me more as a motivator. HIs players would go the distance for him. Were the offensive and defensive coordinators, and positional coaches throughout Clemons' tenure as coach experienced to help him out? Maybe Bluto can give us some insight on Clemons time as coach with the Argos. Not sold on Khari as a head coach necessarily, but the support Clemons had as a head coach could serve as a template.
  14. Joe Mack??? Joe Mack???That whole post is a bag of ****He was such a bad GM he deserves to be fired twice! Did you seriously miss the whole Joe Mack getting fired situation earlier this season? Hence me saying he deserves to be fired twice. It was a joke.
  15. 97-98 are the worst I can remember. Worst stretch in my lifetime is 97-99 - combined record of 13 - 39. I think the Bombers went 3.5 years during that stretch without winning two games in a row. We're at 2.5 years without back-to-back wins right now. Getting close to that modern day record of ineptitude.

  17. Did that fat ex-Denver QB even play when he was here? I'm sure he sucked but it's hard to know for sure unless you get some game reps (even if it is only pre-season). Offhand, I'd go with Quinn and honorable mention to McDougall.
  18. Timbo might have been informed in the locker room of his dismissal immediately after the game. Will have a press conference on Monday to make it official. Tim, Joe Mack, the rest of the coaching staff (except Dickenson) will be officially fired at that time.
  19. But iso, if it was the players that didn't want to really play today the score would have been 54-7.
  20. Like I said if you want to be technical about it they finished second last only because of their better record against Hamilton in head-to-head matchups. But I'm not being technical. Bombers tied the Ticats for last so both teams are last place teams as far as I'm concerned. And as I stated previous, the Bombers will probably finish last this year. I didn't say it was definitive. Anyway, you slice it, this team was pathetic under previous management. Hopefully under new management we can actually string together a few consecutive winning seasons - something we haven't seen since 2002-2003. no you're just being wrong. You want to argue about a team being pathetic do it with truth not with lies, there's lots of ways to do it truthfully, no need to try and make it sound worse than it actually is cause the way it is is bad enough. Gotcha. So during the 2012 season the Bombers compiled a 6-12 record to finish tied for last place overall with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats who also compiled a 6-12 record. However, due to a technicality, that being the Bombers 2-1 record against Hamilton in head-to-head matchups, the Bombers ended up drafting second overall instead of first overall.

  22. Where did it say he was leaving? Nowhere. false. Last in 2010 Tied for last in 2012. Probably last this year. There are no ties in the final standing because they have something called tiebreakers. I know Bombers technically finished second last because they beat Hamilton in the season series. Big Deal. They still tied for last with 6 wins. Last is last. And the Bombers have had good practice at it in recent years. And this is still Joe Mack's team as far as I'm concerned so the probable last place finish this season will be on him as well.
  23. And you have no clue whether the architect was capable of designing the stadium or not. There are ALWAYS redesign requirements and additional costs with all major projects. Ray Wan had never designed a stadium before. Instead of going through the proper process of taking submissions from the three firms with the most experience in stadium design and determine which one was the proper proposal, the Bombers (Asper) choose to go with Wan. The likelihood of having significant cost overruns due to redesign requirements (outdoor pressbox, not providing proper field access from the stands, improper venitlation) are much greater with a firm with minmal or no experience (Wan) than it would be with a firm with plenty of experience (HOK).
  24. false. Last in 2010 Tied for last in 2012. Probably last this year.
