I am the same - any tips for preventing glasses from fogging up due to wearing a mask?

This is especially a problem for me when I'm reading out loud to my students.

When I was playing hockey we would rub shampoo on our shields. I didn't think it would work until I tried it and then I did it before every game. I still remember the coconut smell of the shampoo I kept in my bag from a hotel. I'd be curious if this would work with glasses fogging too.

  2. The restrictions make it clear the economy is held above all else including family connections and mental & physical health. Increasing restrictions does not bother me personally much. Due to having a newborn and an autoimmune condition, my family has held ourselves to more restrictive standards than governmental restrictions for the past year. Its sucked, but hopefully it will change soon. It would be nice if the restrictions made sense and showed compassion for anything other than the almighty dollar.

Its also really unfortunate about the idiots at the rallies and nothing being done about enforcement. They should all be fined with the fine going to support small businesses. They claim their rally is to support small businesses, so they should happily pay the fine.

  3. The old 2K football games were legendary. They got too good so EA bought exclusive rights. I've read decent things about the Axis Football series, but haven't played it. Kind of fits the whole indie angle that I think would be good. Maybe they have a CFL mod or could get licensing eventually. Could be good for both sides.

  4. Immunocompromised guy here. Expecting my first child in a few weeks. There's my bias. "Our" decision to live with Covid has meant I haven't been able to go to any of the prenatal appointments. I'm concerned we are inviting another wave that may prevent me from being present at the birth. Not a big fan of loosening restrictions when mass vaccinations are underway and at least somewhat of an end is in sight. Would really like to feel comfortable being around friends again too. Thankfully all 3 of my 80+ year old grandparents have all received one vaccine shot though.

A Liberal wouldn't stand a chance in the South - East Bible Belt.  They could run a platypus down there - as long as they painted it blue.

The MLA for Steinbach, Kelvin Goertzen, literally got over 10 times as many votes as the 2nd place candidate. He got over 4 times as many votes as all the other candidates combined.

They can introduce and vote on bills without anyone other than the PCs ever seeing them? dafuq is going on? Wait- it's the NDP's fault.... JFC....

Are they stupid? do they think everyone is stupid?

NDP need new leadership, the Liberal's need a... provincial party- the PCs need to ******* crash and burn.

My MLA is the leader of the Liberal Party, Dougald Lamont. I've found him to be an excellent MLA and the party platform in general seems to be intelligent and progressive. As a plus, Pallister hates him and retorts to every issue Lamont raises with a jab at the federal Libs.

Unfortunately with our voting system it is very hard for the Libs to gain traction provincially. One side wants anything but the NDP, the other anything but the Conservatives. Its hard to make any headway when both sides are afraid to split the vote. The last election was the first time I ever voted provincially for the Liberals and I was only willing to vote for them because they had a legitimate shot at winning my riding.

The game was a combination of better coaching...players out performing others..and new schemes on both sides of ball to confuse CGY..basically playoff mode ball by well prepped team.

BLM was piss poor solely due to what he was seeing..and wasnt comfortable save for the first drive all game.

On offense the second half "adjustment" was just a continuation of what was game planned from the start...they felt them out..and like Collaros said in the presser got CGY to reveal how they were gonna roll on defense all day and they exploited it..with pre-planned scheme.

I guarantee you as well we got a dose of Streveler light in first half to give full dose in second half to wear down and hammer it home as it got colder and players got more tired and to preserve him for crunch time and grind out the game..and it worked flawlessly...well done coaching staff and well done team for executing it...plain and simple that's what happened.

I think you're pretty accurate, but I'd go a step further even. I think it wasn't that they were feeling Calgary out and kept Streveler for the 2nd half, but rather he was more of a "secret weapon" that they didn't want to allow the Stamps to make half-time adjustments. I can never be sure, but that's how I make sense of Strev not really doing anything until the 2nd half. Also thinking (hoping?) that it was kind of a ploy to list him as the 3rd stringer, but who knows.

Did you hear his whiny post game interview on TSN? He basically called the refs out and said there should have been penalties against us too when they got dinged for those 30 yards near the end of the game. He just kept going on and on about it. Its always the retaliation that gets called bro. Ours guys had stopped mucking it up and were walking away, while your guys were continuing to be dicks and shoved a ref. SUCK A FAT ONE MAAS! And I know you can hear me with those 2 satellite dishes attached to the sides of your head!

I missed the post game stuff on TSN, but had to try to find this. For anyone else interested in Maas' rant around the 2:50 mark:

The ironic part was that the jury accepted that the NFL had colluded to prevent the USFL from accessing TV contract, stadia and so forth and were prepared to award a massive amount to the USFL, according to jurors who were interviewed after the trial. However, Trump insisted on testifying despite his lawyers' advice and came across as so arrogant and unlikable that the jurors changed their minds and awarded one dollar.

Do you have a source for this? I'd enjoy reading (or watching) more about this

  10. Yeah 250,000. Was the highest paid defensive player until a few days ago. Even though I'm not a fan of spending the big bucks often, I liked this signing at the time. Now that other teams have spent so much on players I doubt will have the same impact, I like it even more.

That graph was before Demski and Alexander.

Sure we only signed one new guy (so far) but re-upping Alexander was just as big as bringing in a new guy.

Also all these "big" names signed so far were guys we never were really interested in or needed to augment our core of guys save for most likely Posey. But theres still Walker or Mathews who basically still fill that need and will require similar cash to sign.

Outside of QB's, we signed prob the best available impact player on the market.. (Jefferson)for market value..all the while several of the teams in our division have basically used up most of their "big game" money. So now that the dust has settled a bit Walter's can re-evalute the needs vs availability and probably get guys he wants at better SMS value.

Based on some of the B.C ties I'm thinking Awe would look pretty good here replacing JSK and possibly a Max Forde or Joseph from Mtl for national dline rotation help especially if we draft a dlineman where there are 2 of which who can most likely step into lineup as backup/rotation right away.

We can also make a play too for Ackie now for national depth on defense as a starter..or a courtney stephans, and most likely get them at reasonable money.

We lost a few starters in Loffler and Chungh but weren't vital cogs..nice pieces but not debilitating losses by any means.

We have 6 olineman signed and coming back who were or have all been on roster and played and save for Gray and his one game dressed have been together for 3 going on 4 years now, and Gray most likely could have been a 1st overall if the known NFL interest wasnt there.

Ace in hole..we have picks 4 and 5 and what..4 or 5 of first 24 picks..our national talent pipeline will be replenished easily again..

Agree with most of what you said, but I also question if it was smart to make our big money F.A. a defensive end. We already have Jeffcoat. Roe is serviceable, but admittedly better in rotation. But isn't DE a place we've done fairly well recruiting? Glad to have Jefferson, but wonder if DE is the best place to spend the money. Seems like we could have rolled the dice on recruiting a guy that's an upgrade to Roe and spent elsewhere.

It easily can be traced to the number of our own free agents we re-signed. The Bombers built this roster and really didn’t want to take a chance on Free Agency to get what they wanted. Teams have choices on how to build a roster. I like the way we were prepared. We didn’t have to rely on outbidding to get some players. We already had them. That’s where we put our money.

Looking at that chart does explain why we didn't make many huge moves, maybe takes some of the sting away from Redblacks fans too, but I think we came out of day one much better than them.

this, in no way, circumvents the cap... it's not like the Bombers are paying him for his second job... Wade probably just knows a guy in the industry and gave a glowing review..

That's basically all I'm trying to suggest. That it was more or less a bonus of staying in Winnipeg. Another source of income which was, at least in part, setup by the team to make it more lucrative to stay.

I mostly just lurk now ... but I do enjoy the once a week threads like odds and sods, in case you missed it, happy honker.

plus all the main threads we follow. I think things are fine as they are

Yes! I love those special column-esque threads. Really adds to the site and makes it seems more like a community. Plus you know what you're getting when you click on them more or less, so if for some reason you don't like it, they are easy to ignore.

Is it possible to pin posts within a thread? Having a game week thread with the depth chart pinned would be great for example.
