  1. True. But that doesn't mean they are worse than Hurl. Passport and O'Shea's stubbornness also come into play. We've seen a few times with O'Shea where everybody else can see a change is necessary (Willy, Kuale) and when he finally makes the change the team does much better. I don't know if this is the case, but its not always the best or most effective players on the field.

  2. I've been watching Hurl a lot lately and he keeps looking insignificant at best. O'Shea and others adamantly defend him and say his role in the scheme is not the classic MLB that makes lots of tackles. So my question is, do they scheme this way because they know Hurl doesn't have the skills of a typical MLB? Our defense looked good against Edmonton, but otherwise it does not seem like the scheme is working. Idk if that's on Hurl or Hall.

On the OB pre game show, don jonas is signing a  contract to retire as a winnipeg blue bomber.  Bob asked him if hed want to do it? He was all for it. Wade brought in the contract. Bob said this is the same contract every player signs (but for one day) and Don said, how much do i get? Bob let out a hell of a laugh and wade said once a player allways a player with a chuckle. Oh man what a great moment. One for the archives for sure.

My dad decided not to listen to the pre-game shows much anymore. Told him that was something he missed out on. It was a special moment, you could hear it in Jonas' voice.

Edmonton giving up few sacks makes sense given how elusive Reilly is. What are the pressures given up by Edmonton? Cause that to me would tell a better story. I don't think their OL is all that spectacular, they just got a qb that can get away.

Is it just me or has Nichols looked more elusive as well the last 2 games or so? Seems like he never used to find his way out of pressure, but I noticed a few plays where he showed some escapability lately.  And I mean that separate from ability to run the football.

I might be off, this is entirely anecdotal, but I'd say Briggs has been on the field for about 20% of the defensive reps this year.  To me it seems like he's seeing action on about 1/2 of the second down reps.

I've tried to pay closer attention to when Hurl is on the field and not. Seems like he's off the field a lot more recently. I think Briggs might be coming in more often for him on passing downs. We seemed to be rotating linebackers a bit against Edmonton, but maybe I'm just noticing it more or we're just shifting out LBs for DBs.

    A few thoughts...

Who cares why we are the loudest...it is irrelevant...we are the loudest.

It is no secret that Rider fans live in a bubble of their own creation. Only way to endure 100 years of futility is to lie to yourself about it.

The moose dying sucks but will make a wonderful addition to the freezer of a low income old folks home on a reserve somewhere.

Pretty sure you can't consume an animal that has been tranq'd

  7. In regards to ticket prices. I had season tix at the old stadium and got them for a little over $100 for the north end zone. I could barely afford rent, but I felt like I had to get them at that price point. Got a lot of entertainment for that and definitely made me more of a fan. I haven't gone to a game since, but a lot of that is because I teach in Northern MB for most of the year. Also echo the comment that getting kids interested at a young age is very important. I do a lot of football with the kids there. They have barely any knowledge or experience with football before and end up very interested in it. Usually I show them some highlight clips toward the end of the year. Would really have been nice to bring some to a preseason game and get them to see the atmosphere in the stadium.

  8. I couldn't believe that the Carter facemask wasn't penalized or at least talked about on TV. Maybe Bob and Doug caught it? I saw it right away and watched it again to see what the hell happened and who did it. Wasn't too surprised....

I don't really blame the Bombers for the whole slow start thing though. I expected it after that bye. I also called it to my buddy that they would make a comeback. Just thought that they would be able to sustain it throughout and after getting the lead thought they would really crush them.

I was referring more to the 7 sacks you gave up against us

Wasn't something said after the game about how Jones agreed to go vanilla and came out and did anything but that? Is this something Doug Brown or O'Shea said. I seem to remember Brown saying that post game, but maybe I'm wrong.

  10. Listening to it right now. Some good content, really like that they are investing time to going deeper into the CFL. It would be amazing to see what Irving could do with the time and lack of interruptions that go into CFL:60.

I'm excited to hear Bob broadcast, pre/post game and coaches show. Got a great voice and passion and can do a good job going in depth, just a shame that CJOB is an infomercial with only some content.

I heard they cut him after they found out his name didn't match his personality. They were looking for recruits that had actually committed crimes and were not named after them.

    man that made me laugh

    it's for the kids bud.

Snake is more for grown up drunk kids though.

Beer snake when we first started doing it = awesome.

Beer snake after it was outlawed and brought back, team-approved and advertised = not great

It was way more fun watching security try to stop attempts at making a beer snake. Chasing people around to stop it, just for someone else to go and pickup the stack of cups and get it going again.
