I will give Nichol's credit for one thing, he stood up there and owned it after the game.  His body language showed someone that can see the ice is getting thin around them.  It wasn't everyone else's fault this week.  I see the Riders focusing on the run this week, Brooks being back will make a big difference.  I think its now or never time for Nichols, I don't see any teams lining up to pay him 400 plus the way he is playing.  I actually see the Bombers shifting things this week to more of a passing attack.  I think Nichols will bounce back and play better this week

From your last two posts it would appear you have become quite an expert on this site twisting the knife while wanting to give the impression you are sympathetic to our cause.  I for one do not appreciate your comments here.  Your gloating under the guise of honest analysis wears thin.  I stay our off your site so why don't you do the same.  Yeah, I'm a little touchy right now and will read and accept critical comments from our posters but I kind of wish you would buzz off.

  2. I think the ball to Washington would have been intercepted even if he had not touched it.  The rider D was far enough back and the ball was on its way down.  My guess anyway. The defence did not play well in the second half because of all the 2 and outs from us. The DB's were having a hard time because the line was no longer able to apply constant pressure.

Either Streveler is very lucky or better than MOS thinks. On two offensive plays in the last two weeks he gets two touchdowns. The one today was really nice because he threw it while scrambling.

It's so much like another time. MOS sticking with the No.1 at all costs. I think Nichols should be tough enough to accept to be benched and take the opportunity to see what is happening that he can't see under game conditions.  Oh well, playing here might help him.

We have been working on a trick play with Gainer in on short yardage.  They tuck the ball into one of Gainers fat rolls and no one knows where it is. It the hide and go seek play

I was at the practice and saw our new highly deceptive trick play. On a punt the whole team went  onside including the center.  Even our own defence was fooled after being told about it.   They all rushed in thinking it was a fake kick and the offence recovered and scored. Please don't pass it on to your buds.

Should be a deafening series... loudest 2 games in the CFL every year. I can't imagine MOS not starting Nichols for both these games, and it's weird that Flanders is still on your practice roster...  Not going to make any predictions cause this could easily be a sweep by either team and a split is also just as likely. Should be an entertaining couple of weeks. Safe travels this weekend ya hillbillies!☺️

Ah! Is this a trick of scouting the enemies position while pretending to represent the red cross just finger exercises?

I have to say to all the people posting about how Nichols is doing lately, and how the coach is handling it etc etc....I have to say you would all be banned from that other site.  Jus a friendly warning,  especially for those that bounce between the two places.

There is much to be said about a site that let's its people express their opinions as opposed to one that is operated as part of a cult.

just watched the "highlights" lol,  on youtube.

debating which side of the ball lost the game is like choosing between dog poo and cat poo for lunch.

Nichols brohmed one pass. threw 2 int directly to guys on the other team. On the one the lineman picked off, there were two other receivers that look open. That he seems to look towards, and then go to Harris.

The pass to Adams was clearly underthrown, Adams had two guys beat, had to slow down, they both caught up to him, and both defenders swatted the ball is it came to him. Not likely anybody could make  that catch. blaming him for that is really bad if Nichols did so. Going to have some apologizing to do.

Not the biggest fan of Bo Levi, but when he has players open, usually he can hit them.

sad to say, it looks like the pass defence is once again a complete shambles. four guys covering one receiver, three guys surrounding a receiver with the ball, yet all three unable to tackle him (shades of defences past),

defenders running away from a receiver, leaving him uncovered, defenders in trail position.

Assuming these coaches know what they're doing, their not explaining it very well to their players.

We've had dozens of pass defenders through here. same result every season.

I suspect that the guys that we have that have been really good, best days are behind them, wasted on bullshit defensive teams.

just an ugly mess. I'm surprised Calgary didn't score more points. Cause there was basically nothing stopping them.

Two beat downs in a row.

Right now, this team is awful.

At least with Streveler, there is a chance he'll run, and they have to respect that. As it is, the Wpg offence is actually probably pretty easy to draw a D game plan for.

Not putting in Streveler is mystifying.

If you're betting don't open your wallet too wide! MOS's  loyalty would make some guy down South kill for.  I think it would be fair for MOS to start Nichols but make a change before the game is out of hand.  We give up 500 yards to Ottawa and Hall says:"I like where we are right now".  To prove his point he allows Calgary to do it again.  Well at least he's a man of his word.

I guess it's not funny but this deja vu gets very frustrating after a while as we are left with the only option of accepting it as being the norm.

  7. Calgary has been very good at not allowing rushing yards.  So it was a given the front seven would stand there like a bunch of buzzards waiting to feast on Harris's bones. That was not going to change until the Bombers would spread the field and that they were not willing to do.  Why is it the coaches don't figure the game plan is not working and should  be revised?

Interesting quote from Bob on the post-game show:

When the coach starts listening to the fans, he'll soon be sitting with them.

We were playing better football during the first three games of the year.  I remember when Willy was replaced, the fans were making it clear they had enough.

When a coach refuses to correct the play calling of his assistants he could also find himself sitting with the fans

  9. I guess every fan has the right to boo any player but I am not convinced a real fan would exercise that right. As fans we go to the game to support our team for all the time it is on the field.  I supported Willy during his time here and wondered how much punishment a man could take and still come back.  Eventually those hits affected his playing ability.

Nichols had a bad night but so did Fogg, Lankford and many others. The problem in that game is the team were not prepared properly to play it.  Where Ottawa seemed to know what was going to happen we seem to guess what they would do.   They had seen some weaknesses and exploited them.  Very little is mentioned about all the penalties that cost us a pile of points. That is something we should be booing about.  Why are those guys allowed to do that?

Nichols is my quarterback and I hope he puts that game behind him.

Man I don’t understand some people. Insecurity causes anger.

Why do you come throwing daggers like that. It’s a friggen football game which is strictly entertainment. it’s suppose to be fun. You sound like blue and gold are your gang colours. Listen up Im here to talk football  nothing else . I’m not here being nicety nice as you put it. Im impressed with the Bombers so far this year. But like anything else  it can change

Why is it so hard for people to stay on topic.

Ah! I would strongly suggest to you to return or join riderfans.com.  You would feel right at home there.  And as an added  bonus, subscribe to the Rod Pisterson's  blog for your enjoyment. I sense you are not welcomed here.

All rivalry pot shots aside.  Dam few franchises could endure a grey cup drought as long as the current Bomber one and still be drawing 27k'sh per game. A tip of the hat to all of you who are season ticket holders.   I was one of the 22k that was still there at Rider games when we didn't even know if we were going to have a team anymore when the Stamps were paying Flutie a million dollars to play. I know what pain and frustration feels like.

What amazes me is the number of Rider Fans who forgot that period and talk like the good days will last forever. A few bad years and it takes its toll.

I'm still a big fan of Brandon Bridge... love to see him in Blue & Gold as a backup or 1b with Streveler eventually

Stephen McAdoo is the worst OC in the league and there's some bad OCs this year

He would be no.4 in our current system.  After four years in the league he should have progressed more.

I guess we should not be worried about the Riders' fan but reading how the refs screwed then all night is rich.  Only when they lose you say?
