  1. Straight up I don't think Walters has any interest in risking not being able to take someone who could potentially start at center in this draft. That means we don't trade down if Lavertu is taken 1st since we could trade into 5th and have whomever we traded with take Goosen anyways (or someone behind them)
  2. That's a pretty bad deal for us - I'd be ok if it included a 3rd rounder as well (so basically Cauchy for a 3rd rounder and swapping first round picks)
  3. Ok, sounds good. Let's go Willy then...but what if Willy's not the best? Continue to evaluate your other talent in practices throughout the season but as long as Willy is performing well on game day for at least the first half of the season I don't expect anyone to displace him from being the starter. If someone is doing extremely well as a back-up they may get to show their stuff in garbage time at the end of some games. If Willy shits the bed hard I still expect him to be our starter until at least the second half of the season, unless it's 110 yards per game bad (which is not expected to be the case)
  4. Watched his interview from the mini-camp Doesn't sound like he thinks he's hot **** cocky about coming up here
  5. Problem isn't the money to keep him under contract... it's the roster position... we needed all our spots for players that might actually play (although I guess we could have signed him and 9 gamed him immediately... although you generally do that with guys you can't afford to lose)
  6. Yeh it only goes one way - get your slopes right and you know explicitly where water will follow.
  7. OR the damage LOOKS really bad, but really isn't (because people are really poor at judging how much it will cost to fix drywall, especially since water damage in a house often comes with mold and is devastating) Now you have a bunch of people thinking the stadium is a complete shitshow when all it needs is a little repair and some drainage provisions added (all at a cost which is at worst covered by Bombers Insurance)
  8. Except this isn't going to shut the place down... if we have cancelled games because of water damage and they still don't let the media take a look see then I totally agree that we paid for it and deserve to see it. If all we ever hear about it is some inside source saying the damage was crazy bad, never a cancelled game or complaint from anybody using the facility and no missed payments by the Bombers because of having to make repairs... well like Brandon said - expensive issues to be fixed in the law courts, never a mention in the news
  9. Here's the thing about letting the media in for photos... Inevitably the photos they take would make things look much worse w.r.t. how bad the damage was then what the situation really is. Most people simply don't have perspective because any sort of water damage in the property they do know about (their house) is a huge pain and cost. People might freak out over something that is easily fixed and won't be noticeable come game day and Miller is trying to prevent that - I can assure you he will let media in once things are fixed up enough that no freaking out will occur.
  10. Who says it's a design flaw. We just had the worst winter in over 100 years. A building can be designed to withstand weather much worse than normal but not a lot are designed to meet once in a century conditions. Bad winter... not actually much water in what precipitation we did have however. Look at the flood outlook, they aren't predicting a bad one because the snow we got was so low in density (less liquid from melting)
  11. I think PI calls are easily a type of penalty that can be miscalled due to the direction the ref sees the play from - if any penalty is good for being reviewable PI is it.
  12. This was totally trolling - Someone asked him where he was signing this offseason - he said BC Lions BC then tweeted at him - So we'll be seeing you at one of our free agent camps then + link and then he tweeted back at them something about stopping on two nickels... So basically he isn't playing football and decided to say BC Lions to everyone's surprise (including BC)
  13. Yeh I was gonna ask if that was the game where Hall was limping off the field after basically every down
  14. This was my concern... almost all of his receiving highlights were just him putting the burners on and running past guys (not a single one where he fought off a jam in particular)
  15. 1 - Looks like pretty good hands with an Arena sized ball - hopefully going to the bigger CFL ball won't be a problem 2 - Looks like he won't have any trouble with plays that require him to waggle... nor fighting through a DB coming off of the waggle 3 - I'm concerned that he is too used to playing against DB's who are hopelessly outmatched by him on a size basis... He won't have as easy a fight to get those balls in the CFL
  16. CFL Official Feed ‏@CFL 4m REPORT: Kevin Glenn has requested a trade out of Ottawa, according to @DanRalphCP. #CFL We all saw this coming... part of why we were being so hard on the Burris signing
  17. Those are the guys making millions playing in the NFL...
  18. Yeah I'm with you. I don't get why this is funny. I'm not even that old and I don't get it either. It's a reddit thing
  19. Iunno... Calgary has worked out well for him in the past couple years... he might try them again assuming Tate will just get hurt again.
  20. Properly maintained grass is best for any field sport. The properly maintained part is the key, it's expensive and difficult. Personally, I hated playing on field turf for football. I find that when it is dry, it tends to grab your feet in, making you worry about torquing your upper body without your lower body following, snap goes the ACL. When it was raining or snowing, the moisture would sit in the field and it was like standing on a mattress. I hated playing on terribly maintained grass fields worse than anything though, the U of M field was the absolute worst. Basically just a mud patch. Nomads was pretty bad too, but usually at least had some grass between the hashes. There are no shoes for that. I have about 3 or 4 friends who've blown ACL's playing on synthetic turf - I don't know anybody whose done the same on grass despite all of them playing MANY MANY more hours on the grass fields (and these are shitty city grass fields with divots and everything) Synthetic turf has WAY more bounce to it... I can see why they might complain.
  21. Not sure how you can compare Lavoie to Nik Lewis at all. Their skill set is entirely different. I don't know if you can compare anyone to Nik Lewis. He is one of my favorite guys to watch when they catch him on the sidelines after a big play or a contoversial ruling. He's friggen hilarious love him or hate him. With his size Nik Lewis' atheticism is just insane....
  22. The real tall NI from florida state we drafted last year could come into the equation if he shows well at camp (Alli I think) If he even comes to camp I guess.
  23. Wonder how much the REDBLACKS are paying Hargreaves?
  24. Definitely a new look coming into this season - Probably really important with respect to getting fans in the seats early in the season/
  25. I agree re: inside o-line. It's scary. Sadly, the only way it's going to get better in the forseeable future is a prospect stepping up. Guys who can anchor an o-line just don't make it to free agency frequently enough to bank on that route. They could go for a trade, but the price is going to be high. It'll be a great day when we can stop fretting over the o-line. I think Greaves has developed into a VERY solid Guard
