Why anyone cares what a 'big time throw' is and pouts cuz we didn't get enough of them is beyond stupid.

None of us on this forum did anything other than watch our team win. This constant whining, puffing out our chests and saying how great we are, and taking shots at the Riders is juvenile.

Agree in principle.  It's a little annoying though,  when after back to back cups. The so-called professional journalists can't bring themselves to put a little respect on the Bombers name.

There was a training camp QB who had an ... uncle? ... on here ... IIRC the QB made a splash in a preseason game and was very briefly the next big thing, but I think he got cut...wish I could remember his name.  I think this was early in the Canadian Mafia era...

Edit: Justin Holland.  It was his dad, not his uncle.  That was in freaking 2007.  Fourteen years ago.  good lord I'm old.

I believe that qb was robert marve.

There was a Gary Lawless article shortly after Osh was hired, and he said "if you can withstand the first few years of a rebuild and show some patience, these guys WILL win you a Grey Cup"..... I will never forget that. He knew from the beginning.

And getting through those years was tough, but stopping the 3 year coaching carousel was probably the hardest job kyle walters had. It was all some people knew and were forever calling for o'shea's head.

They couldve tried to play it smart and sneak out a win today. Which would be huge for them. But instead they poked the hornets nest. This defense loves to play smash mouth football, and the offense loves big plays as much as pounding the ball.

Im glad the als chose certain death. Ortolan bunting is on the menu for a hungry bomber team tonight, courtesy of the lol'ouettes.

We offered them liberty.  We offered them death. They chose death.

I will add this having done some more looking into stuff. The media are jumping on Cheveldayoff‘s comments from July. He was asked if he knew anything about the allegations. Quenneville was asked the same thing. Q said he did not know a thing until the media brought it up that summer. This is clearly a lie since he was at the meeting in 2010. Cheveldayoff’s  answer was that he did not know until he was asked if he was aware of anything “just prior” to Aldrich’s departure from the club. The meeting was May 23 and the resignation was June 29. So “technically” it could be argued the meeting was “just prior” to his departure, albeit a bit of a stretch. Bottom line, as someone else put it, not a lie but greasy as hell. And his statement yesterday was more of the same, not really saying anything and just deferring to the “won’t say anything while the investigation continues, report speaks for itself” storyline.

In the end, he looks guilty by dodging questions, but he may not owe the media anything anyway, and legally it is best not to put your case in the public eye first. So should he be fired if he knew, but had people above him saying they would deal with it so he sat back and did nothing? Since he was part of the senior executive and privy to the meeting, one could speculate he had some power to influence the decision. If I were the Jets, I think a suspension pending the completion of Bettman’s discussion is the best course. If it is determined he played part in or acquiesced to a cover-up, then he will almost certainly be shown the door. If he honestly felt the higher-ups were taking care of it and had no say in the process, then he gets to stay.

If a subordinate is told of an incident by the team president, why should anyone expect the subordinate to do anything about it? It's above his pay grade. Could he have marched to a police station and filed a complaint on behalf of the player, who was an adult at the time. I guess he could have, but i don't know that he should be held to account for not doing that. I don't think I would talk out of school like that.

For the last x years every Bomber loss has been accompanied by a week of dissecting the 4 or 5 plays that we coulda gone our way to give turn our losses into wins. Most of the time it was nonsense and when I said that, I was called a troll.

This week, I'm being called a troll for bringing up the one play that was the turning point in the game & someone said I'm only here when we have a bad game. Neither is true.

I think we lose if Grymes makes the pick 6. Assuming we stop them from scoring any more points, we still need to score a TD and a FG or 3 FG's to win. I doubt Mourtada has 3 FG's in him in 10 minutes. The 1 TD we did score was right after the Grymes drop which wouldn't happen. Others think we would have scored at least 8 to win anyway.

Some folks think troll means doesn't share the same opinion as others.

It's very possible we could have still won in spite of a fictitious pick 6. We held edmonton in their zone for the entire 4th quarter.  Why are you harping on play that didn't happen?

I think it is still a bit of a crapshoot... but all the ore reason to stockpile picks... you're far more likely to get three good players out of 8 picks than 4 picks...

A crapshoot would imply its a matter of chance that your picks pan out and there is no way to slant the odds in your favor.  A literal roll of the dice. It's just not true. The cfl draft presents some challenges that other leagues don't face, and bad luck can be a factor. But it's not the only factor.

It isnt really a surprise, he's only kicked a little bit in the IFL as a pro, didnt have a full college career,

This is what bothers me the most. It's completely illogical that he's even here, in a year that we're chasing another cup. How is this better than taking a guy off the cfl practice roster, or another teams pr?
