By most accounts that I've seen, he was a democrat. He was loud and proud about his patriotism, but he was less conservative than most people thought.
I did not know that. Nonetheless... sad he's past away

Toby Keith died.. say what you will about his politics but there's no doubt he could write a hook and never short of creative lyrics... dude was a good song writer.
- coming from a 90s loving rock n roller who writes music himself. The dude was gifted and knew how to tell a story

We have, on paper, by far the best offense in the league. Especially with Strev back

Neither do the guys calling the shots or the people on this board

ehhhh... yes we were absolute dogshit embarrassing for a long time.... but it's also an 8/9 team league. There's no excuse to not be in the hunt every single year. The Stamps did basically what we're doing right now, about 10 years ago. Going to the cup virtually every year, but only winning a couple.
The expectations have definitely changed......and also, we have been the best team in the league for a long time now (regardless of who hoisted the trophy at the end) and only lost the last two cups by a last second play. Our expectations are much higher than they were before...
And we won a gc by some last second magic, too. I agree with the board, on first glance the JT signing is underwhelming. I just think it's also important to remember what got us to the dance in the first place..it's always been a character driven team.FIFO.
If you lose too many of those unsung leaders than you may lose the culture too. Let's see what happens in free agency..

Maybe I'm drunk ( I am) but anyone else think the jake Thomas signing is 1000% for character and character alone. Dude knows what it's like to be a blue bomber.
To me it's interesting that we applaud this organization for having character guys, yet now when we sign character it's upsetting.
4 grey cups in a row guys. We can have our oshea roster doubts. Let's trust Walter's to do his job.
If Walter's says Thomas adds value.. I'm behind him
4 GREY CUPS in a row. 2 plays away from winning 4 straight. Man I get the resentment, I do. But Thomas was signed for a reason. Maybe a reason we don't understand yet. We've been given no reason to over analyze yet.. this ain't previous regimens..
My first 28 years of life on this earth we didn't win a grey cup. Now we've been there 4x straight and it seems like a good portion of this board is ready to jump ship like it never happened. I get that we need to be critical but let's reserve that until we haven't made a grey cup lol. Seriously. We were in the conversation to be the worst pro franchise in sports. Everyone hold their horses. These guys know what they are doing
We have people on this website ( and I mean this respectfully) who think they know better than the management who has brought us to where we are now.
- and to those people who know better. Where are your grey cup rings and why aren't you coaching pro football? It's easy to be critical like friesen when you ain't making the calls..
To winning a grey cup that dodged us for 29 years... shessh man. Do we not remember where we were just a few years ago?

I’m torn because I don’t really know what any of it looks like and I don’t really know what our approach is going to be short term vs long term.
I won’t lie and say I’m a huge believer in Zach at this stage of his career and I certainly don’t believe Streveler is a better pure backup than Dru, but I do have hope that Streveler will bring an element to our offense that will help Zach. It’s a lot of moving parts.
I think if it plays out how I expect it to, I’d want Zach over Dru at this point, but I’m scared that we are going to be in serious trouble at some point if Strevy hasn’t evolved as a passer.
A lot will come to light this year on whether or not strev can be come a stand in passing qb in this league...
We got a great price to find out anyway

Let me to ask to the Dru Brown over Collaros guys, @Mikeyou specifically
Would you rather the group we have now or brown over zc still?
-
Yeah, I don't know if im happier with him than Shoen but I'd certainly rather strev than Oliveira...I for one think strev has probably improved his passing immensely over the last few years..

He's referring to Noellers response to you, presumably.
It would be so much cooler if we could talk in person. Messages sometimes come across as very hostile, and probably are just tongue in cheek- joking tone

Ok, now I think people are going too hard in the other direction here.
Last year Brady was absolute crap for the first half of the season and clearly made changes to be the incredible back he was for the last half of 2022 and all of 2023. It is not all the OL and not every back will have close to his success. Augustine had a high average at the end of blow out games. It's not an equal comparison.
Good post and thought. Thxs

Imagine if the Blue were to cut Zach outright and sign Strev + Brown?
I wouldn't be happy about that. I'd rather keep Zack atleast another year..
God we forget very quickly what its like to be gambling at the qb position.

People will think I'm nuts for saying this, but I personally think strev adds more value to the offense than shoen or BO.
For those concerned about zacks play this year, strev adds a true wrinkle to the offense that makes it unpredictable. One has to assume his passing has improved floating around the nfl the past couple of years.
Take Zack out of the game when he gets his forced ball glasses on. Put strev in the game and put the defence back on its heals.
Plus, the dudes a ****** legend. I'd love to have him back
Brown better be careful playing the cfl qb game of musical chairs.. he could end up in a bad situation

His 5.8 yards per carry over 5 seasons with us says otherwise.
I like Augustine. I actually think he has game breaking ability. That being said I'm not convinced he has the grit to get the tough yards. Maybe a committee could work.
I won't say running backs are a dime a dozen but I'd say the talent out of the usa is typically vastly better. Running back being no exception. As good as Olivera is and has been, I imagine there's plenty of Americans that could fill the role.
That being said, I like Brady. Home town kid . Good for the franchise. And seems like a good dude too. He deserves to get his BUT the comment does rub people the wrong way, myself included

JA is NOT the answer..... but there are plenty of Americans who could be, for sure.
The other thing is, if he wants to go to another team and remain a star. Hope they show a commitment to running the ball like winnipeg has..
Andrew had a long career in winnipeg. Who knows how that works out on other teams

You seem to be very black and white person. But this is a shades of grey decision.
MOS didn't wake up one morning and fire Boudreau all on his own. But neither did Walters. They did their evaluations, had a conversation, and came to a decision.
If you want to sit there and tell everyone that MOS has zero input on his own staff and I will absolutely roll my eyes at you. It is simply another case of you manipulating every comment and piece of news into the exact same criticism over and over and over.
The guy is nauseating after a while. Give it a rest, dude. We've seen several coordinators come and go in MOS time.. total eye roller

I agree that playcalling was awful. Our coordinators were out coached. No excuse for players making mental errors tho.
Still can't understand the zero blitz when we're playing for the tie. A sack doesn't take them out of fg range.

I'm not a fan of cheap fast food or generic chain restaurants.
I'm a much bigger fan of the non chain local restaurants that make everything fresh and with higher quality ingredients. These days most family chain restaurants are hurting because the younger generation usually have higher standards, and for Sorrentos the menu for the other locations is kind of stuck in the 80's. I'll give it a try and leave a review once it does open since it is nearby and they do have kids meals. Until then I'll complain and just tell people to visit Roxy's in Selkirk or Jonseys in East St Paul for all your restaurant needs.
I live in esp and I've never cared for jonseys. Everyone else loves it. Not for me. Everytime I get a burger there it tastes dried out and bland to me.
Sorrentos.. meh.. not great either. I used to grab pasta from vincenzos down the street once in a while.
Brandon has an amazing pasta joint called pizza express. Hands down the best pasta joint on the market. Some have said they found it a little soupy, but for me it's incredible. They just opened a location in wpg on roblin. Give it a shot

3 games, not 2. Guaranteed money. And $125,000 US more into his account ($167,000 Cdn). Hardly chump change.
So what did he make this year, 600 k usd and a chance to cement himself as a better contract?
