Think its obvious with the rosters expanding and going to 4 DI's that we are gonna be using an import kicker/punter. Maher for sure.
 
I don't think mark was ever really an option.

This is a non-story in my opinion.  Generally the people that don't re-new are those likely more influenced by things like a terrible season, or alternatively, were more likely to buy season tickets for the first year of a stadium.

Two things I don't like:

Contrary to popular belief, buying a ticket or being a taxpayer does not mean you are a key decision maker on Blue Bomber events.  They are required to give us some information, but that is it.  
 
If Miller keeps this up, I will be very impressed.  It's about time someone let the media know they either need to write fairly or learn to deal with the consequences.

See, I don't think the problem many have (at least not me) is that he has to be either positive or negative about the team.  As the lead columnist for the Freep, I do however expect him to be educated.  Before the Unknown Poster gets all in a knot and shouts "But it's just his opinion!" I would like to point out that opinions can be both stupid and/or wrong.  That's my problem with Lawless.
 
If you are going to praise or criticize the Bombers or Jets, do it with both logic and evidence.  There are plenty of reasonable arguments to be made off that.

Good for him.  Interesting to see if it leads to something bigger later.

I'm fan with him being an ambassador.  Tremendous guy, who is pretty much well-liked by anyone who's met him.

That'd require our media to actually pay attention and notice.
 
Just for fun, has anyone actually seen some of the media members at training camp?  I get that they are long practices but sometimes I swear they're not even paying attention to the field.

Seriously. Is this real life right now? How bad can a reporter be?

Ya, he's old.  As long as we're not banking on him being a long term solution, we will be okay.  The management and team seem intent on finding player to win now AND finding players for the future.  Guys like Korey Banks aren't here to make us winners three years from now.  O'Shea wants to compete immediately and to do that he needs a guy like McCune, who might not be great but could be good enough for a team with a gaping hole at MLB.  I think there is a difference between wanting to win now and mortgaging the future to win now.  I think we are in the former and not the latter category.  If we were just signing a bunch of old guys, or killing our cap by signing them to big money and long term deals (thus limiting future signings of young players) I'd be more concerned.  Some of the other additions the Bombers are banking on being long term solutions.  No harm in trying to make the roster competition stronger for this season.

Until the Bombers announce it, no reporter will post it. To do otherwise would require something like journalistic initiative and valuable time away from other, more pleasurable pursuits. Like napping.

And Walters and O'Shea deserve a lot of credit for bringing in these guys.  For as tough as it was to get a QB, showing that it was tough to make people think of Winnipeg as a favourable destination, we still landed several good players - even if we went about it by trade for some.  The Kohlert signing should get more love here too.  Everyone knew it was going to happen so maybe the lustre wore off but really, he was our most consistent Canadian receiver last year.  If we had signed a similar player in FA maybe it would have gotten more attention.

You're right.  There is no difference between judging people on their character, personality, judgement and poor management/writing and judging people based solely on elements of their humanity that they don't control like gender, race and sexuality.
