Alex Hall Traded
Apparently I'm in the minority but I think Walters did pretty darn good for this one. Hall was a goner - and the rest of the league knew it. Giving up the second rounder sucks, but they clearly think this linemen is at least decent. Walters got value (Neufeld) for very little (essentially a second round pick).

Selinger promising to put fan-elected board in place
This might be the worst Bomber idea I've ever heard. That is not hyperbole. Meet your new organization... CEO: Gary Lawless GM: Duane Forde HC: Matt Dunigan, who after four games will get fired then replaced by Greg Marshall, who will then after his four games be replaced by Khari Jones. Now since Jones is still loved, he'll get five games before getting canned. Then we'll replace him with Tim Burke, because everyone knows he just didn't get a fair shake from Mack and is secretly a brilliant head coach in waiting. --- I'm aware that a fan board wouldn't have this type of control. The lesson here is still that it would be nothing more than an utter trainwreck. To put it bluntly, fans are dumb and make bad decisions. Listen to any radio call-in show and imagine their ideas on this team. I can see them bickering at the board meeting now..."We need to hire the first guy that promises to bring in Casey Printers at QB..." This idea better burn to death immediately.

Who Gets Fired?
Bam. Mere seconds after I posted a reply to iso.

Who Gets Fired?
Yeah, he sure had a lot to say when he got hired, didn't he? Now he's become invisible. At the very least he should come out of the shadows after that debacle last night. New person, same debate. Why do you guys need media statements issued after everything? Of course he had a lot to say when he got hired. He had just fired a GM and promoted a new one. If he doesn't say anything, people complain that he's hiding, not fulfilling his role, etc... If he does say something, what exactly is he supposed to say? "Yes Bomber fans, I thought we sucked too?" How exactly does that benefit the organization at all? And look out if he dare say anything positive, because then the media will turn their faux-outrage up another 80%. Miller's job is to hire the right people and then get the heck out of the way. He will have to engage the media at various points throughout his tenure; providing bi-weekly updates is not required.

Expansion Draft Discussion
Perhaps we can have the CFL mandate Ottawa take at least a third of this roster...then we can at least have an equal counterpart next season.

Burke
Oh for ****'s sake if this is true then there is no way in hell I can believe Miller and/or Walters will fix this team. Hopefully this is just 'till the end of the season.

GDT -- Game Day: Does Anyone Still Care?
Funniest thing I've read all day.

Burke
Leader??? are you ever using the term loosely! Leaders don't throw their employees under the bus in public! At this point Burke has thrown so many people under the bus that the wheels are no longer touching the ground. He's not a leader at all.

Mods: Why No Game Day Thread?
I don't think we need a game thread but I think a post game thread would be a great idea. The post game talk used to go in the game thread, now it seems quiet around here after games- particularly if you miss the game and want to read some comments. Don't think it'd a big though. We all know how to create threads if we really want one.

Lawless Says Trade Henoc For A QB
So many things wrong with the article that. I don't think Lawless even attempts to put thought into them anymore.

Reilly - Old News
Sigh. I love how you make it so simple. "Oh, just go get him!"I wanted Reilly here but there is a lot of things we had to consider. It's not Madden. But hey while we're at it, Mack has caused global warming. Also the Syrian attacks. Oh and any natural disaster that may come this year? I'll save you the suspense. It was Mack.

Justin Goltz
Not a good game by Goltz. Didn't think it was a good game by Hall either though. He definitely moved the ball a little better, but he also threw into tight coverage an awful lot. Go back and watch all of his throws, there are several that were contested and probably should have been picked. I thought the bigger problem was the OL. Hall's got a faster release so he is able to minimize that a little more than Goltz but neither is going to have success with that line. They are hilariously bad. And this coaching staff still blows chunks. It should not have been such a monumental task to scheme against Edmonton on both sides of the ball.

Bombers moving to the West next year
The historic natural rivalries are in the West. Not Ottawa or Hamilton. Especially Ottawa next year. I'm hoping to see another Winnipeg/Hamilton GC someday. But the Bombers better hurry. I'm not getting any younger. One of the things I am finding out is that whether we are a West or East team, by fan perspective, depends on age. My dad for instance said he's happy to be back in the west as we've always been a west team. But by comparison, I told him in my opinion that we are an East team because for most of my adult life the Bombers have been in the east.

Reilly - Old News
Mack should've released his QBs to show Reilly we wanted him? Reilly was worried about going against the crop of crap we had? Awful article. We should release all our QBs right now to show Collaros and other free agents we want them, lest they grow concerned that we may not be serious about our intentions.

Bombers moving to the West next year
Man I really thought we were going to get compensated. Should've stayed in the East if we weren't getting money.

Bombers moving to the West next year
It's good as now there's more urgency to build a better team & not rely on weaker teams to prop us up. I'm great with this because we are a Western city. When you are 2-8 there shouldn't need to be more urgency to build a better team. Sorry, not buying it. Wade Miller isn't sitting in his office going "Oh, we're in the West now? **** I guess this team does need to improve quickly."

Bombers moving to the West next year
Yuck. Hate this honestly. I grew up with the Bombers playing in the East the majority of the time, and for that reason I think of us now as an Eastern team, even though I am well aware of the geographical location of our city. Plus the East right now is a mess, and I'd rather be there. We're going to get pummeled in the West.

Kyle Walters
I watched the first half for the first time today. After listening to the radio rip him up and the comments on here, I was expecting Goltz to be awful. Frankly I don't think it was terrible. He had a pass literally go right through Edwards' hands, who was as usual about to argue for a flag. Later he had a throw smack right off Kohlert's shoulder pads when the WR took his eyes off the ball. Near the end of the half he made a decent albeit under thrown ball that Denmark couldn't catch in the end zone (the throw wasn't good and it would have been a hard catch, but still it was almost a completion). What I thought he struggled with was knowing when to throw the ball away. I felt that way last week too. I want to see him get the ball out when the blitz is on. Sometimes he still tries to scramble even when there isn't an open lane. It would help if our offensive line didn't completely just fall over anytime there's a blitz. Right now the goal should be to keep Goltz upright and see if that makes this a lot prettier. My guess is you'll see a big improvement. For now I still think he makes the best decisions of any QB on the roster, and provides added versatility with his feet. We can be successful with him.

Walters not optimistic about signing Henoc before free agency
They said Henoc's agent is a guy who pushes hard for his players to go after NFL tryouts. Could be something to that too, though Winnipeg is obviously a tough sell right now.

Kyle Walters
I think with this later move for Parenteau Walters has won me over. He's a big gamble. I know people won't like that. I wouldn't expect him to stay as busy as this in the future if he does get the role, but I love how he is finally acting on things we have been clamouring for. Get rid of Pierce? Check - and an added bonus for NI WR. Get a Canadian OL in here? Check. The only thing that would really give me a red flag is if he wanted to keep Burke.

Buck Pierce traded for Akeem Foster
I have nothing against Buck Pierce the person. Hopefully things work out for him in his personal and professional life after football. But I HATE Pierce the QB. I am more excited about this move than the win. This team kept wanting to ride the Pierce roller coaster so much and all it did was make everyone vomit. This move is one that puts the franchise on the right rebuild track.

Buck Pierce traded for Akeem Foster
This is the freaking steal of a decade. Pierce had the trade value of a used football...and not even one that was gently used. I LOVE what Walters has done so far. He's winning me over, and quickly. If he promises to get rid of the coaching staff, I might be sold on him.
