  1. They said Henoc's agent is a guy who pushes hard for his players to go after NFL tryouts. Could be something to that too, though Winnipeg is obviously a tough sell right now.
  2. I think with this later move for Parenteau Walters has won me over. He's a big gamble. I know people won't like that. I wouldn't expect him to stay as busy as this in the future if he does get the role, but I love how he is finally acting on things we have been clamouring for. Get rid of Pierce? Check - and an added bonus for NI WR. Get a Canadian OL in here? Check. The only thing that would really give me a red flag is if he wanted to keep Burke.
  3. I have nothing against Buck Pierce the person. Hopefully things work out for him in his personal and professional life after football. But I HATE Pierce the QB. I am more excited about this move than the win. This team kept wanting to ride the Pierce roller coaster so much and all it did was make everyone vomit. This move is one that puts the franchise on the right rebuild track.
  4. This is the freaking steal of a decade. Pierce had the trade value of a used football...and not even one that was gently used. I LOVE what Walters has done so far. He's winning me over, and quickly. If he promises to get rid of the coaching staff, I might be sold on him.
  5. http://www.bluebombers.com/article/blue-bombers-acquire-non-import-receiver-akeem-foster-in-deal-with-lions Pierce for Foster.
  6. they are funny.. stop trying so hard to find fault in everything bombers.. An uninspired **** joke is funny? This is like the Two and a Half Men of mugs.
  7. It's so...juvenile. I honestly didn't even chuckle.
  8. If the argument was that Buono saw something in him, then that's shot down now. Elliott had potential but made a lot of mistakes. Thought he made a lot of poor decisions on field. I'd rather we just keep searching...
  9. Walters is winning me over...
  10. The more QBs the better at this point. Like the move. Walters is racking up a few 'name' signings lately.
  11. /puts on Bomber jersey and paints his face What if Walters is actually the best candidate? How many CFL guys have his knowledge of the Canadian game, it's players and the CIS system? There are other interesting candidates, but we know that the easier part of this job is finding the Americans. Mack's downfall wasn't the American talent (though it is apparent that isn't as good as I initially thought) but rather his inability to find a QB, a HC and Canadians (a group that improved with Walters running the show). /wipes paint off I'm not saying give him the job. I'm not even in favour of having him run this club. I don't think it's nearly as crazy as it seems though.
  12. Would be so nice to have new DBs brought in.
  13. If he can even just interrupt the DL a bit he's an upgrade on our right side of the line.
  14. I think Goltz played well - until his game fell apart near the end. He was trying to do too much at the end, because the game was quickly slipping away.
  15. Well at least we kept it under 100. Burke: "I thought we'd be better on defense today." If only we had a defensive coach to straighten things out...
  16. Let's keep it under a 100!
  17. Replays are so rare at Bomber games, it is probably my biggest issue with the new stadium.
  18. Bet that decision has already been made. We just don't know it. It's the Bomber Way. Despite Miller saying everything to the contrary... I've known Wade for 20 years. Very smart, hard working guy -- also HIGHLY calculating. I'm getting increasingly skeptical of our upcoming "exhaustive" GM search... Let me get this straight: Wade Miller, known for running successful businesses, is going to take over this dumpster fire of a team, and then hand the GM job to the assistant to the guy he just fired? Without doing his due diligence? I'm skeptical of that.

  20. Holy balls this organization is a mess. This isn't the same crap spewed by Lawless over and over again - when Tait comes out with this stuff it's carries a lot of weight. I like Walters a lot. It still makes me uneasy that he's in the race for the GM spot, but he does seem like a rising star. I might not hate the move.
  21. Sure then let's sit him down to protect him so he can do more tv commercials. Is that the excuse now if he craps out?? I am not saying to sit him down, but I don't care to argue this since I know I'm just going to get more ISO-RAGE.
  22. This is nothing more than just motivational talk masquerading as wisdom. Unless he can block, throw and catch at the same time, Goltz is reliant on others around to help him succeed. There are things he can control, clearly, and needs to do so to have success. That does not mean if he doesn't thrive in this gong show on Sunday he can't become more than what he currently is. Sorry, it must be those motivational websites I spend all day reading. But wouldn't you agree that if he wins this game it could jumpstart his career like no other game could? I see an opportunity for a young guy. I know it looks bleak but these are still all pro football players who have all won games in the past, and they've now got a couple weeks in Bellefeuille's offence. It won't be easy but he'll be right in the conversation with Collaros and BLM as the "next big thing" if he pulls out a big game. I'm not sure a win really jumpstarts his career, but I do think people will pull a 180 on their opinions at that point. Regardless I understand your point - if Goltz wins this game he'll make a name for himself. I don't think you'll find many people that think the Bombers have a real chance at winning this game (though nothing is impossible) and as a result that would seem to indicate that the team as a whole is a mess. Crucifying Goltz for a loss here is likely going to be misdirected.
  23. You said last, not me. And hey, if he WINS, then there can't really be any debate, can there? I believe my sarcastically written comment indicates that maybe judging Goltz on wins and losses isn't completely fair, seeing as everyone including him will have to share in the blame. I fail to see how any young QB can succeed in this scenario, but that won't stop fans from burying Goltz (and then Hall, once he gets the nod again). Great QBs thrive on adversity. Mediocre QBs make excuses and beg for patience. This is nothing more than just motivational talk masquerading as wisdom. Unless he can block, throw and catch at the same time, Goltz is reliant on others around to help him succeed. There are things he can control, clearly, and needs to do so to have success. 25. "One last chance"? With a crappy offensive line, new and/or awful receivers and an OC who's been here three weeks, how can he NOT succeed in that scenario?! Oh, and the opposing team is one of the league's best. What a great situation for Goltz!
