I think we all assumed Matthews would be NFL bound after this year.  If anything, our chances of having him back next year have risen since he's had such a write-off season. 
 
Hall, what can you say?  He was always sort of over-qualified for the CFL.  And his play on the field has backed that up.

It all just underlines to me what a massive job the next GM has here. 

I am not skinny, I am not fat, although my BMI would probably put me at slightly overweight. I just wanted to pipe in and say that without fat football fans, this and every other football team, would have a pretty hard time filling the seats. We can sit here and grouse about how irresponsible these people are for eating nachos and dogs at every game but instead I will give them all a great big kudos for taking the time and money to come out and eat substandard food watching a substandard club.
I would have thought that a football forum could find a little more love for a guy who is over 300 lbs. Even the quinoa and steamed chicken crowd here would be po'ed if we signed a 250 lb lineman.

No.  The depressing stat is the idea that our 46th next TD pass from today could come in 2016. 

Do you guys remember back on Thanksgiving weekend in 2010 when we had that miracle comeback against the Lions?  Alex Brink started the game and was awful but the Jyles came in and it ended up being one of the biggest comebacks in Bomber history.  I think we all remember that game. 
 
With about a minute to go in that game Jyles sort of chucked one up in the end zone and Greg Carr made a great catch to get us within 3 points.

The thing is people (especially the media) like to mock or critisize these small moves.  But I don't see it that way.  It's about getting better one player at a time.  Its going to be painstaking and lengthy.

Agree.  And I know this is kerosene around here but of all the "known commodity" GM's Brendan is the most likely to come here.  Sask won't want to lose O'Day.  Brendan has an affinity for the Bombers.  He and Miller have a previous relationship.  Well, we could go on and on.  And I won't even complain when he trades draft picks for a Quarterback. 
 
Bombers should have some strategic (for a change) leaks about wanting to go hard after O' Day.  Let the fan base in Sask get all panicky about losing him.
