Yes, Lofton started for us in place of Big Stan in the last game in 2022 and we didn't see enough to have him here in 2023 over Richmond. If Sask didn't want him for LT in 2024 why would we want him here to try out for RT. I sure hope we signed him for league minimum.

Why did they want Hardrick? Or Kolo? Why do you insist on ignoring very recent history of the team doing this and being successful at it?

That can't be right, it would mean Bailey was being paid $160k or more at one time, I don't think he's ever earned near that much.  It seems he's been perpetually stuck at the bottom of the pay scale his entire career.

I think Mike meant, Bailey was offered 160-170k in last year's FA, but choose the Bombers anyway which netted him 80k less than what was on the table.

well is gonna have to as we have nobody else unless we draft one...which seems likely now

what happened with that local kid who was supposed to be in camp last yr...was academically ineligible to go to Nebraska or somewhere?...maybe he back in camp again this spring

I've been wondering what happened to him. Apparently is very talented, but haven't heard much since camp last year

Not sure who you mean by this. If anything hanging onto the old guard for too long hinders player development.

Rose, Bailey, Gray, Jeffcoat are all out, making room for younger guys to play.

Clements played well, but Cole is the guy they like better. Developing to have a higher ceiling.

Can't think of a younger player they've had get away that was developing into anything.

Losing bolo sucks. That's a young guy they developed that could absolutely start and make an impact. But for good reason he wasn't doing that here.

Always had guys in the pipeline though.  Have 7 guys signed right now, 3 Americans, 4 Canadians.  Flipping around 2 spots, didn't have any development guys last year.

Would be really lucky to get a guy out of draft who can play right away.  Top 7-8 OL guys are all NFL prospects.  Not always easy to plug American guys in either.

Think there will be a few moves in this position group yet.

Dobson and Eli were very much development guys last year. We will need to unearth a new tackle but outside of that...we're fine. Depth will take a bit of a hit, but like you said there will likely be a signing or two and if history is any indicator. They will be more than ready to step in if needed.

did I miss it, is gray signed else where? Every one is talking like he’s gone. Personally I think if he’s playing football next year it’ll be here. If he’s back I think he’d have an inside track at RT. Which as some one said previously being next to neuf will be an asset. A lot can be said about him, in far from his biggest fan, but you aren’t gonna swim in side the rt and split neuf and any one.  Plus he can make the adjustments and help the tackle assignment/pick up wise.

Walters said the team is moving on from him.

That's the most baffling aspect, kept Kola who plays at the edge of his abilities and lost Gray who has unlimited physical abilities plus versatility.

Gray with all his hype has never lived up to it IMO. He was one of the most overrated players on our team. Don't get me wrong, I'd take him back on a heart beat. But I'm not convinced he's some MOOL in waiting or that he would have succeeded as a T. He has all the talent in the world, or so we're told ...but he can't seem to put it all together.

Thiadric was not healthy all year last year imo. Not sure if the achilles will be the end of his career but we gave him more game time last year than we probably should have. He wasn't good unfortunately.

Takes time to bounce back from that. I wouldn't be surprised to see him making an impact this year.

Regarding the punter. I thought he boomed them quite often when they let him. I’m not sure he’s the guy out there kicking weird ****. They also fired the sp teams coordinator so….

have they named a new one yet or is OSH taking it on.

That was the frustrating part. In warm up he'd be kicking completely fine. And in game he'd always try to get the weird bounce....which I'm actually a huge fan of, but it obviously wasn't working. Maybe 1 out of 10 punts would

  10. I was fully expecting one of if not both of the tackles to leave the team this year. That tackle spot leaves me a bit nervous but otherwise the O looks like it's set up to be one of the best this year.

The defence has a few more ?? right now, but they may be solved shortly. I'm prepared for a step back honestly, but they'll still be competitive in every game. I really hope they find 3 or 4 solid starter quality players in TC this year and they get lots of experience so that when 2025 comes around they're ready to go, no questions asked.

I'm honestly more excited about 2025 than I am this year lol.

Part of me feels Farhan might be throwing this out there so some team pays him more money. The other part thinks Detroit legit likes him. I find that hard to believe tho lol. But, you look at the sack numbers and prob think he deserves a shot. I mean personally I think Betts is seriously over rated but if I’m an nfl scout and I watch the right games, betts prob is intriguing

Why would teams pay him more money?

love me some big Stan but I think the very first piece of the turnaround was the 2013 Alex Hall for Neufeld trade.

Hall put up seven sacks for the Roughriders in nineteen games.  In return, we got a Canadian OL starter for a decade.

I think that was Walters' first trade.  Nice debut.

True, but he wasn't a star player. At the time WPG wasn't a hot landing spot for anyone and Stanley came here by choice, off of a MOOL award in CGY. The neuf trade was solid, but wasn't nearly as impactful right out of the gate as the Stanley signing.

Not taking any sides here, but what both Andrew Harris and Jeffcoat have mentioned is not that they were being moved on from, but that they weren’t told in a timely fashion.

Yeah, pro sports are cut throat. They aren't the 1st and won't be the last.

    FUN FACT.

On this day in 2015 the 1st piece of the puzzle was officially signed. #66 the GOAT of Goats became a Winnipeg Blue Bomber.
