Terry Williams I meant Sorry - should have made that more clear haha
Oh ok, that makes sense.

He just re-signed for 2 years. He isn’t going anywhere.
Where did you see this? I'm looking but can't see any announcements

Grant is better.

I can see Grant heading to BC. Might be a good replacement for Lucky. And who have they signed? That one LB and Stanback.

Once again Farhan dropping contract details on other team’s signings - has he said anything about Stanback’s?
126k apparently

Definitely not the case. I can think of Khari Jones in 2004, and Drew Tate as at least two more.
Would you change your mind if I told you that Nichols is making $140k?
No. That makes the deal make more sense. Nichols is better, and didn't just sign a new contract, and is still making more.

TO still has a decent wr core. But I agree, AJ was a main piece of the puzzle for that o and their Defence likely won't be able to bail them out like they did so many times last year.
Will be interesting to watch how Kelly deals with some regular adversity.

Maybe I'm the crazy one who believes that the top paid player at a position should be the best or at least top three in the league.
Hardrick I would assume is in the 10-15 range.
With all due respect, there are not 15 RTs that are better than Hardwick. That's ridiculous to even suggest. He's top 3 for sure. It's not his ability that's the problem really. When he's on, hes one of the best. It's his age and potential for declining play that makes the contract crazy.

That's brutal about Richmond.....

Edm spending on sts with bede and leak
it’s not crazy money by other position standards in the cfl. By db standards it is though.
It's hi for DBs. But not crazy.

Honestly 135k per year doesn't seem like that bad of a deal for Houston.

Thurman, Yoshi and AJ all make the Riders better. I see 8 wins next season.
You think they go 8-0 to start the year?

This about where I'd thought hed sign. Figured it be in TO cause I see Dalton getting close to 300k. And thought that would be the preference.
I love that Brady is back. Calms my nerves about protecting Zach. They idea that "we've gotten worse" is absolutely stupid. No one's knows how good or bad this team will be until the end of camp at the very earliest and likely 6-8 weeks after that.
I still say it's harder to replace Schoen than Brady. Glad he's back. Hopefully we make it a 2 for Tuesday!!!

I’m going to try and be self-aware with this because I know I prefer Schoen over Brady myself, but I did have a conversation with my dad the other day where he made a very good point: we’ve never played Schoenball in the 4th Q to seal a win. We’ve made a habit of playing Bradyball. That stuff does matter and I don’t think I had really considered that until he said it.
To be fair, we also played Harris ball. Let's not pretend this team has focused on the run only for Brady. I'm sure it wouldn't have changed if someone else was getting the ball this year.

Agree, I think people wanted us to move on from Thomas, Briggs, Schmekel & other players. Not players like Hardrick & other starters. More of a rearranging of the deck chairs & not a massive rebuild.
I figured there would be losses along the OL. And I'm glad they stayed with the GOAT. I would have been more upset losing Richmond than I am with losing Hardrick. I know...potential over experience. But they had to get younger eventually. This move makes sense for everyone imo.

I don’t hate that at all. Yoshi gets his cash, Riders get a diminishing asset, Drew Richmond gets a chance to play.
I honestly think Riders will be disappointed.

I thought the point of the tampering week was to prevent this lol.
Not really. It was to make this "legal". Before tampering was introduced, this exact thing happened....but was technically not allowed

CoFaj outplayed Zach in the GC so one game. He wouldn't outplay him over an 18 game schedule.
Fajardo had a couple decent drives and made the throw of his life on the last play. Otherwise their Defense did the heavy lifting in every playoff game for them.

2023/2024 Blue Bombers Off-Season Thread (BRADY’S BACK! DALTON’S BACK!)

Everyone plays banged up at that time of year no doubt. It's about how effective you can be. Hindsight is 20/20 and it's abundantly clear that Bighill and especially Schoen should not have been on the field for as many snaps as they were.
As was stated, your comparisons aren't meaningful as Strev was a secret for the most part....but was still extremely effective and Alexander as proven by video hurt himself celebrating after the win.
