No, Calvillo learned the game under Tracy Ham. He learned how to read defenses. Calvillo didn't change the way he played. He changed the way he prepared. And he had real receiving talent around him like Ben Cahoon, Terry Vaughan, Chad Owens, Terrence Edawrds SJ Greene, Pat Woodcock & Jermaine Copeland as well as Mike Pringle at running back.
Calvillo has talked about when Trestman came in, they changed things up. More emphasis was put on pass pro and getting the ball out of his hands quickly.

There was a play where Willie dropped back pretty deep into coverage. I think it was later in the game. Thought that was pretty funny

The receivers are not fine. They're average. Re-program a 36 year old qb whose played for 25 years??
yes. Like Anthony Calvillo did in MTL when things started going off the rails. He turned it around because he changed the way he played.

The season and how you go about it..roster..etc...sets you up tho for success in it tho...we effed it up during the yr 3 yrs running...so it's preventative maintenance so to speak
Sure, but I'll worry about the GC when/if they get there. As of right now, they're a better team then they were this time last year.

"What's past is prologue"
Are they playing in the GC this week? Or are they playing their 3rd game of the year. If we're going to compare the past and learn from history....the correct thing would be to compare where they are now compared to where they were relative to the same time last year. Last year they started 0-4 after a lazy TC. Would you say they admitted a mistake and learned from it? We can go on and on about the last 3 grey cups. But they aren't preparing for the GC this week.

Or when it counts of late 0-3
I know I know. I'm as perplexed at our roster as anyone else. But as of today. they're 2-0. Last 3 GCs no longer matter.

I get it but I hate the whole approach. Status quo and never trying to find ways to improve our roster got us where we are today.
2-0?

Was it Ayers who got called in the Grey Cup on that fumble recovery where we ended up having to give the ball back to Toronto? If so, I'm still mad at him about that one....argh...
That was Wilson. Willie got the ball back like 2 plays later.

Quick recap... he starts by saying the Bombers D has started the season great against a BC team without Rourke... I guess he forgot the blowout in week two... the proceeds to say the Elks suck at everything and Bombers are good at everything... so naturally, his pick is the Elks 😂
Also says the Bombers didn't play Rourke. And never mentions they beat Rourke with their backup QB streveler.
The guy is one of the biggest homers in the "professional" media. I get being a bit of a homer....but at least be correct in your articles. -

We will see Biggie July 3. A week after this game vs Edm.
18th. 3rd is in CGY.

You don't really need to spy him if you're not bringing pressure. Send 3, make him find the open rec downfield.

I keep forgetting to mention this .. has anyone else noticed Dusty Nielsen pronouncing our returners last name as "Vah-Ool" for some reason? For th Blige of me I don't know where he's getting that from....
It seemed like both Nielsen and Glen were exceptionally bad last night. Suitor multiple times obviously. The one that stuck out was saying if Shehans punt went out of bounds it would be a penalty....even though it bounced half a dozen times before he mentioned that. And Nielsen talking how because the onside kick was touched by schoen it was now a "live ball".
It felt like I was saying, wtf are you talking about? Way too many times while listening to those two.

I'm wondering if there is anything to the idea that the Dome is "dead air" and you need an extra 5 yards on throws/kicks.....
Zach said in post game that it's on him to make better throws get the job done no matter what, but I'm curious...
Watching the replay during the game. I said it looked like Demski accelerated when he spotted the ball and then realized it was going to be short. So maybe there's something too it.

The lack of pressure on Streveler could have had more to do with his ability to run. Dline has to contain him. Collaros, not so much. They know they can go after him and force mistakes.
Im willing to let the season play out. But last night made me question (even more) the offer of a contract extension before the season started.

Dinwiddie not thrilled with the Argos performance
https://www.argonauts.ca/2025/06/20/ryan-dinwiddie-post-game-june-20-2025/Late 4th Q 2nd down he accepted a penalty that the riders convert. And eventually score a TD. Doesn't notice he's short 1 player with a timeout available. Dinwiddie should have taken some personal responsibility for that loss. His coaching was ****.

Wow, TOR actually clawed their way to OT
Almost. Dinwiddie just doesn't want to win
-
Lol this game has been horribly coached
-
And there go. Good job Dinwiddie. Your defense can stop a sneeze and the riders are trying to give you the ball
Both teams are going to finish with 200 yards in penalties lol.
-
The penalties in this game are ridiculous. No discipline at all
Why would dinwiddie accept that holding penalty? 2 down....or 3rd down? Wtf?

I can't believe TO threw the ball on that first drive after everyone was talking about how they wanted to run it.
Can you guys believe that?
