MOBomberFan got a reaction from iso_55 in I want to talk about something that really grinds my gears
I''m partial to Sargent Sundae and a stroll across the walking bridge to Assiniboine Park, but then I'm a St James boy through and through

Who eats pizza with a fork and knife. Psshhh...you girl. And stop changing your name...for a while I was like...where did that guy come from. Ya weirdo.
And gondola is good, I like that too.

MOBomberFan reacted to 17to85 in Doug Brown does it again?
This. It's exactly the kind of position you'd expect from Doug Brown. He was a player rep, he was involved in these dealings before, he's still a player at heart I think so naturally he's on their side.
Trouble is that the CFL would never go through a lock out. It wouldn't survive one and the players quite simply are replaceable except for a handful. If push comes to shove they'll fold faster than superman on laundry day purple monkey dishwasher.

RG is already etching Marve's name onto his replica Grey Cup

MOBomberFan reacted to sweep the leg in Max Hall
Anybody who doesn't think the worst Bomber home game of all time was the 2009 Banjo Bowl is crazy. Never had a worse gameday experience in my life. I do agree though that the Boltus experience vs BC was really bad.
Count me in as a Max Hall fan as well. I'm comfortable with him as a backup. If Glenn was cut, or the asking price was reasonable, I'd bring him in, but what the redblacks are asking for now is crazy.

MOBomberFan reacted to 17to85 in Great Bombers article from Gary Lawless today
Another drive by of the past regime? Come on that's lazy writing. Seems like he's tooting Walters horn when maybe he should be tooting Millers horn more. It's the CEO not the GM who gives out more money for operations staff. And let's be honest here, Walters based on his experience level should be making less money as a GM too. It's an article that really is Lawless' MO. Hype up the people he likes while cutting down people he doesn't. There's nothing ground breaking there and until we see the results on the field it's all just self serving.

MOBomberFan reacted to kelownabomberfan in Kevin Glenn has requested a trade
I want to win, and for that sacrifice, I'm willing to accept Glenn back in blue and gold. All he did in Calgary was win, except of course when it mattered.

MOBomberFan reacted to Blueandgold in REDBLACKS sign Justin Palardy
Still not sure that letting him go was a good move IMO.

MOBomberFan reacted to TBURGESS in Banks Signs Extension
Nik Lewis can play on my team any day of the week. He's one of the few receivers who I'd trust to get that extra yard or two when we really need it.

MOBomberFan reacted to kelownabomberfan in Buck Pierce set to announce retirement today
Even though 2010 was a fail of a year and Buck was injured for a lot of it, I still remember the commanding presence he brought onto the field in his first game in Blue and Gold. When he took to the field with the offense for the first time, I was legitimately excited to see what he was going to do, and I remembered that sensation being the first time in a long time that I was excited about our offense. It's too bad he got so beat up, and by last season was a shadow of his former self. Though he did go out with a great last game last year against Edmonton, he got to play like the Buck of old for that last game with three passing TD's and one rushing TD and it was good to see.

I get that there is a bias towards getting old Bombers to coach here (I'm guilty of it too) and we should always think with our brains and not our hearts but in this case I would say hiring him would be a hearts and brains decision, and a good one at that. Buck's not just a great guy, he's a guy that has management/coaching written all over him. Kind of like Steve Yzerman. I know the Bombers really liked him and didn't really want to trade him, and I think they just wanted to get him on a team that had a shot at a cup while he was still playing.
Buck still lives in Winnipeg right? I saw him in some dental ad for Manitoba dentists a few days ago. I would think that this decision to retire is in conjunction with some sort of coaching position with Winnipeg.

MOBomberFan reacted to Mark H. in Vince Le To Get Unescorted Leaves
My main concern rests with the Shelley Glovers of the world. Choosing Li as a talking point, as a case to be appealed. What has she ever said about the thousands of people who have been killed by impaired drivers?
IMO, her motive is not justice. Her motive is get re-elected.

MOBomberFan got a reaction from Brandon in Vince Le To Get Unescorted Leaves
Maybe it's a shitty comparison but I'll throw it out there anyways as I feel there are some legit parallels... if Lisa Gibson were found alive suffering from shock and severe post partem depression, would some of you be advocating that she be locked up indefinitely? Or was her crime not 'grisly' enough to warrant such treatment?
-
MOBomberFan reacted to Mark H. in Vince Le To Get Unescorted Leaves
Same thing with someone who was found guilty of impaired driving - you can't be sure they won't re-offend. Yet many are not in any kind of custody - what if they 'go off the rails' and kill someone?

MOBomberFan reacted to Fraser in Vince Le To Get Unescorted Leaves
obviously a very polarizing issue. I feel for the family, I can't imagine losing a family member in such a violent fashion.
He was found not criminally responsible and didn't ask to have his affliction. He chose not to take his meds once and I don't know what other freedoms he might be entitled to in the future but it's scary to wonder what might happen if he does neglect to take them again.
I don't know if there are any right answers or who on this site is qualified to render an opinion but I do know an out and out fear and hatred towards the mentally ill 'probably' isn't going to solve anything.

MOBomberFan reacted to Jpan85 in Free Agency - 2014...
The club has tried to get rid of distractions the last thing they will do is bring in one of the biggest distractions in league right now. I really don't think Arland gets another job in league.

I like Bauming too. But it's just one more example of how much fact checking they go through as professionals. I just feel like fans in Winnipeg deserve a bit more responsibility from our writers.
