Russian Ice Hockey Federation will be punished b/c the team left the ice before the Canadian anthem. Full credit to Ovechkin, who was apparently trying to make his teammates stay.

Brad Richards is just about finished. I'd take Ward for sure. I love his game. He'd fit right in with our style of play.

Of course they're not, but he asked which one I'd want.

You can't honestly believe we took a guy #11 overall b/c of spite? That's so ridiculous I don't know how to respond to it. -
My first round. I think Demski goes to Ottawa at #10 unless we trade up for him. 1. Ottawa - Mateas 2. Winnipeg - Chung 3. Toronto - McEwen 4. Montreal - Durant 5. BC - Ruby 6. Sask - Groulx 7. Edmonton - Ackie 8. Hamilton - Lavoie 9. Calgary - Waud

Other than Mayweather's retirement fight, I can't think of any fight that will draw mainstream attention for boxing Canelo who lost to mayweather at 22 is the next big thing. Dont think team money would fight him again. He just boxed this weekend in an amazing 3 round fight, more action in a round than may vs pac. Check out the link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LehQX1bbGQk#t=12 Yeah, I know who he is. I follow boxing casually, and actually saw his fight with Mayweather. It's too bad he couldn't have had a few more fights before that much of a step up in opponent. His fight with Kirkland was a million times more exciting than Mayweather-Pac. The Russian guy, GGG, is pretty good too. Those are about the only current names I pay any attention to now. I'd love to see Mayweather fight GGG, but I'm not sure he'd want to go up another weight class. I think Alvarez will be hugely popular with Mexican fight fans, but I don't think he'll ever reach the Pac or Mayweather level of popularity with mainstream NA audiences.

Cory Watson traded again

I think they keep #2 and look to trade up for a second 1st rounder. It's also possible they don't do that. I have no idea...

Cory Watson traded again

So why do they have to add to the trade to be able to get a long snapper for Watson? After they traded a 2nd round pick for him... Is this guy coming from Edmonton supposed to be really good? -
He didn't seem very high on Groulx.

I don't see Demski dropping to us at #11. I'm full of cynicism though when it comes to things ever working out for us.

This is just stupid. I meant individually, not cumulatively. That should have been obvious.

It's personal preference. I get the thinking behind income splitting, I just disagree. I think tax rates should be based on individuals, not households. For GST, I think the benefit of lowering it for individuals is pretty insignificant in comparison to the cost of lost revenue for the government. but why? The whole idea behind marriage in this day and age is to combine things, why not income? Why should a house hold with two people making $60k pay less taxes than a household with one person making $120k and the other making nothing? Until my paycheque shows more than just my name on it, it's individual income. Why should somebody making $120k, with a wife also making $120k, have to pay more taxes than another guy making $120k, but whose wife chose to stay home with the kids? It's an unnecessary tax break for people the Conservatives see as being part of their base.

I completely agree with you on this point.

I have yet to ever meet a happy provincial or Federal employee. You guys always seem pissed off about something or other. Not saying you don't have the right to be. I just wish there was a way to fix this, other than of course, just throwing ever bigger gobs of cash your way. I really like my job and think I'm paid fairly. What bothers me is how the recession was used as a reason to gut our benefits and tear up our contracts. Our sick leave is such an insignificant amount in the big picture, but it was a major point of emphasis in this year's budget because those overpaid, lazy feds don't need it. It's such populist nonsense to attack government workers. There are some things I think the government has been right about though. Being paid a week's salary for every year you worked when you quit your job or retired was crazy. Severance shouldn't be for somebody voluntarily leaving a job and they were right to ditch it. I also think it's fair to expect us to pay for 50% of our pension plan. Having said this, being a fed is a cakewalk compared to working for the province in Manitoba. Four people in my wife's building have left on stress leave. They work in a building that is around 29C everyday b/c they won't fix the ac, they're all crazy overworked b/c they aren't hiring anybody, and they've all been given way more to do. They don't get promotions for this though, b/c they can't afford to re-classify anybody.

Whomever wins, I'd like to see a minority government. As a Federal employee, I'd also like to see Tony Clement lose his job. That goofy looking pos has called me overpaid way too many times. Maybe I'll fly out to his riding and drop a deuce in his fancy new gazebo that we all paid for...
