  1. Funny - no author shows up here, yet I'm willing to wager soooooooooooooooo much money that this was written by Wiecek. What a petulant ass. His article about Wylie also complained about this issue. They both came out on the same day...
  2. The playoff rulebook has always bothered me. Is there another sport that changes its standard of officiating for the playoffs.
  3. Is "tendy" something people say in Alberta?
  4. So how are they going to screw this up?
  5. Full acknowledgement that he shouldn't have done it, but... I thought the Scheifele penalty was weak. It was more push than punch. In a game that was played under prison rules that didn't look to be where the line in the sand should be.
  6. I like the guys you mentioned, and I'm also interested to see David Mims. Walters said they've been trying to get this guy to Winnipeg for a few years now. Must be somewhat intriguing if they've kept him on the neg list that long. He's not new, but I'm excited to see what a healthy Thaddeus Gibson brings.
  7. $7,600 in fines for all of that and 3 games for a coach punching a player. The good ole days...
  8. I only watched the clip once but I thought it was a fairly light tap and a heck of a performance by the Sens player. . P Micro fracture in his wrist. Possibly out for the rest of the series
  9. Nice. I remember his name from FA. You & a couple guys from riderfans were proponents of his. I'm a little surprised it took this long for a team to sign him.
  10. Let's hear 'em. Jets in 7 Blues in 5 Preds in 6 Canucks in 7 Habs in 5 Bolts in 6 Rangers in 5 Caps in 6 My final is Stl vs Rangers
  11. You are a much bigger man than me, sir. I watched him live in the game the Bombers won in BC and he just didn't seem to give a crap. But maybe that's just my untrained football eye. It's impossible to say for sure, but I always thought he was trying. He just wasn't very good any more...
  12. and then he should thank Brock Ralph for being his inspiration for the latter part of his CFL career. Bryant didn't have much left in the tank when we brought him in, but he gave what he had left. Definitely doesn't deserve to be compared to Ralph. My lasting image of him in his 2nd stint here will be chasing down a db running back a nearly sure td in a blowout loss.
  13. Is it fair to judge a GM on one season's work? He traded their top 1st & 2nd rounders for short term help, and now they might miss the playoffs. They're also playing shorthanded for the past two weeks b/c he mismanaged the cap. IMO the only thing that should save him is a good run in the playoffs. If Babcock doesn't re-sign in Detroit, Pittsburgh will make him a massive offer and give him full control of player decisions.
  14. The Kings were granted cap relief with regards to Voynov. Ok? And how much did that help them on the ice? Lol cap relief doesn't do you much good mid season when there is nobody to sign. But it does if you want to make a trade. Exactly. They were able to trade for Sekera b/c of the extra cap space they had. As for Richards, he's just a bad player with a bad contract. They don't get a pat on the back for playing through their own self-inflicted wounds.
  15. Hawks are very top heavy with salaries and have several stars on their team.
  16. The Flames had trouble attracting fans pre-2004?
  17. I give it about a .000001% chance of happening. It would be pretty cool though...
  18. this, too....man what a boost in Nash this year... A healthy Rinne is the biggest part of that boost.
  19. It would be nice to get the Ducks. I don't think they're as good as the Blues, and if we won that series we'd get the winner of Vancouver-Calgary rather than Hawks-Preds.
  20. Wonder if this means Connor gets the start against the Flames? Or is he being called up as insurance over the playoffs? Probably means Pavelec isn't going to dress for the game and they need a backup for Hutch.
  21. I agree with him. I don't think their D is anywhere near the calibre of the Blues and they don't have the same depth at forward. I don't fully understand how they have so many points. Maybe Boudreau is just that good of a coach?
  22. Fleury, Luongo, Bobrovsky, Quick just to name a few. Not saying he's that calibre of goalie but there definitely is good goalies in that range. All true. The problem is Pavelec isn't in that range for his career. He has a career SV% of .908, which is pretty bad. This is his first season in the NHL above .915.
  23. There's a 0% chance, barring injury, that Stuart isn't dressed for that game.Assuming everyone is healthy, I think Chiarot or Pardy is the only real question. I'd start Chiarot, but Maurice really likes Pardy on the pk.
  24. Very reactionary decision making. Scoring is down for one season and full blown panic set in.
  25. It would be nice to win tomorrow and end it there. Let Pavelec sit the final game of the season.
