You've got that wrong and you know it. You're one of those 'If you're not overtly positive all the time, you're negative' folks. I look at both sides, not just at the positives. You used to do that too, but have gone over to the Pollyanna side.

Now you seem more interested in how negative I am than anything else. Angry that I don't see things the same way you do. If you and others didn't care what I type, you'd let it go. You wouldn't consistently bring up my name or call me out. You'd just think... that guy doesn't think the same as I do. It's kinda of funny/sad actually considering how you react to every tiny perceived slight against you on these boards.

I want the Bombers to get 1st in the West and go on to win the Grey Cup. I was at the game the last time they won it all. I still remember what it felt like.

I want the Bombers to make the right decisions so they can win the Cup again. I don't assume that every decision they make is good or bad. I call each one as I see it. I don't assume that just because it's a good looking pick that it's going to work out, because lots of good looking picks never work out. I don't assume that players who gave up on football or were out of the game for a year or more will suddenly become fully invested again and that's what it takes to play in the CFL. I don't assume that a blown out knee will get back to normal especially in the short term. I don't assume that 'if he hadn't got injured' or 'if he hadn't taken a year off' he'd have been drafted to the NFL is true or even means anything. I don't assume that this years draft picks are all going to be starters, let alone as good as the all stars we lost. I agree that everything might turn out the way we hope it does, but I don't assume it.

Positive side??? That.. more like positive fraction.. like 5% lol

And that's ok.  Just own it.  You have one of the most pessimistic viewpoints on the board.. and you never, ever ever ever just own it! You always try to refute that and then follow it up with a post like the one about our oline prospects.

I really dont think many people here would be constantly on you about stuff if you would just admit that you have a slant to your view on the bombers that is decidedly negative.

And if you dont see it.. you're somehow  blocking it out lol..

At the end of the day tho, it's good to have the Ying to the Yang on here or else this board would be too much like TEP and we would have people losing their minds daily... not just weekly or semi-weekly.

  2. Excited to see if Nichols can take another step beyond "meh"

Excited to see our front 7.  Jefferson is going to either be a monster.. or create so much havoc that Biggie and company are going to have great games.

Excited to see Derek Jones as a safety.  Speed, good cover skills and I trust he know what the calls are, seeing as hes been reading the playbook and running the role in practice for how long now?

Lastly, most excited to see if we finally have a bonafide deep, lanky, go up and get that ball, threat!

I can't believe so many people here thought this joke of a league was a threat to the CFL or worth watching.

Adios AAF(what kind of name is that) didn't watch you and won't miss you.

    I know they haven't officially folded (March 28, 1:42 p.m. central time).

Yea me either.. how many of these "feeder" leagues have come and gone now??

I'd be amazed if the AAFL gets to season 2.

Yeah... estimated Canadian population - 37.06 million (2018, according to google), USA - 327.02 million (according to google). Not only that, the differences in weather means in some southern states you can play football longer. As for loopholes... if we're just making rules with the intention of them being bypassed anyways, what's the point?

I always found the CFL draft particularly hilarious... you want to pick football players who's dreams will (most likely) be crushed. The ideal draft pick is someone just good enough to be a stud in the CFL, but bad enough NFL teams won't pick them up. Too good and you end up with a player that never plays a snap for your team... too bad, and well, you end up with Kito Poblah.

Except Poblech was a supplemental pick.. even worse.

Last time i looked Biggie was on the other side of the ball. We need better personnel around Nichols and so far this FA round has not added at all to our offense from last year...not negative just a fact.

*so far.  training camp is awhile a way and there is new blood on the roster.. as well as numerous receivers who will shake loose from the NFL and even guys who havent signed anywhere yet in the CFL..

Gear down big rig, no need to panic yet.

The man is doing things to give the CFL more exposure and opening up possibities for future development of players, and more importantly, revenue streams.

Better than sitting and waiting for the football world to pass us by while we wait for things to happen.

We need more forward thinking like this. Absolutely no harm in talking and exploring this avenue.

Exactly!! Any exposure, any growth is good growth...   grassroots movement?? Well now there is 3 of them.. here, in mexico and in Europe.

How could any of this be even remotely considered a bad thing..

Let’s get real. Bombers had no business being in the western final. Prior to playoffs, Riders lost their starting QB to a no-call dirty hit.  Bombers got fined for no-call rough play, and a headshot on back-up QB in quarter final versus Riders. During the Semi-final versus Stamps numerous missed calls by the refs gave Bombers an uneven playing field. Otherwise, it would have been a rout. Riders, in spite of being only three years into a rebuild, continue to outperform the Bombers. Two teams going in two opposite directions....just the fact. Kindest regards.

Gotta love that rider math.   finished behind us at the end of the year and yet.. outperformed us.

Ok champ.  go on and head back to your hole for a year.

Man, I understand your point of view.  But you're speculating just as much as those who have been critical of Nichols' play - maybe more.

How is me breaking down how we... including myself.. saying we have no no clue what was supposed to be happening in the game..  being speculative??

I didn't say I agree, he played well.. I didn't say he played poor..I didnt actually speculate about his performance at all..

So not sure where my speculating went down beyond assuming nobody but him, the coaches and players would know if he was playing good or bad...

Can you provide an example of any other CFL QB's talking about how they thought they played well after a loss?

Reilly, for example, always talks about what HE needs to do better after a loss, even if he's thrown for 300+ yards and the game was lost by the defense.

Oh... gee... I don't know. Glenn, Burris, Collaros, Jennings, Bridge and Willy just off the top of my head I can recall saying they played well after poor performances..  sorry I dont save audio sound bites to back that up but it's fairly common..

  10. Sorry to necropost but I felt this needed to be asked..

What exactly do you need from Nichols here?  a pound of flesh?  maybe he could whip himself and share the blood from his wounds?? He said he didnt provide championship QB play.. that's him saying I didnt play well..

What QB have you ever seen come out and say "yup.. I was pathetic. Worst player out there. I sucked..".? I've never seen one because it's not a QBs sole responsibility to shoulder a loss.  they are also far too confident in their own skillsets to do that.  he admits when he plays poor.  I don't expect him to dive on  hand grenade to appease the fanbase and I dont quite understand why you all do?? I half expect it is so that you can go..

"See!! Even he admits he sucks, time to pack it in..."

Nichols, like every QB... with the exception of Kevin Glenn.. hates to lose.  They dont ouff themselves up in a loss when they have great stats.. why would they imply their completely to blame when they lose??

Id rather a confident QB then one who is second guessing themselves any day of the week...

And lastly.. nobody here has any iota of how Nichols grades out in his games in the eyes of the coach or OC.. Nor do we know if the blocking was right, if his reads were right, if his receivers were in their places or if Harris was in his right spot....

So if he says "I felt I played ok or good.." I dont think anyone of us can really say he did or didnt without knowing all the variables..  otherwise you're just kinda talking out of your ass and expecting people to agree with you or believe you know what you're talking about..

You forgot to add Big Chris....... and why do teams always have to recycle somebody else's QB,  it's about time the CFL teams that need a QB start running more than a few through the scouting process,  and start finding some capable replacements.

Yes because teams just pick 2 or 3 and when they flop, that's it.. onto the retreads.

Cuz I mean, there is like this endless supply of bonafide starting calibre QBs that teams like Hamilton, Montreal, Saskatchewan and us just ignore or refuse to bring in..

Honestly,  do you really think GMs and scouts just say...  "nah.. we good."

    ?

The real point is that the ball was overthrown to a wide open Adams. Adams wouldn't catch up to it no matter how hard he tried, but the Nichols apologist's need it to be someone else's fault.

Streveler missing his only throw of the game doesn't make him Nealon Green 2.0 or a bad QB, no matter how many times some folks want to make that the story.

Who's implying hes a bad qb, 1 dimensional or anything of the like??

People are saying he is still green as a rookie and unproven.. nobody has called him anything other than that from what I've read..

I understand your frustration, but I'm always wary to crown a new KR/PR based on a small sample size... often teams just need a few games of film to figure out their tendencies, then thereafter are better at corralling the player...

As for getting picked on though - agree 100%.

Oh I agree.. very small sample size but his pedigree speaks to his ability and he has shown flashes in that short time frame.  I'm hopeful that he supplants Fogg as returner even if Fogg is back..
