I don't really think that would ever happen because these guys are essentially playing for their careers every week, especially the Americans. I just don't believe that we have any receiver that is very versatile, of the ones we use. They are all kind of one-dimensional and we have Dressler who is a great player but at the end of his career.
And we don't have Duron Carter. I dont see our receivers taking plays off.. giving up on routes (anymore.. bowman) and I see them running hard as decoys and blocking..

I think that Big Chris could......... jmo
Ya because you have so much supporting evidence to make that assumption lol..
Man bomber fans make me laugh. "our backup QB is always the best and he will dominate! He can be a hero and everything.."
Seen that about Garza, Barnes, Martin, Randall, Michna, Elliott, Brohm, Marve and what's his nuts who adjusted his collar every TD..
now its streveler. people around here.. I cant figure out how they haven't learned patience when it comes to QBs yet.

I guess I'm a fool because I don't know that. What's wrong with saying "You're playing like crap. Take a seat. We'll get you back out there when you find your game again".
Y'know, I just watched the Argo-Cats game. Jones, an old-school coach with old-school methods that we were all laughing at and about not that long ago has that team playing some good football. Of note is the play of Jeremiah Masoli, a QB some on here were saying was crap. He looks pretty good to me. He can beat you with his legs and he can throw. How is it he got his chance to play starter with Hamilton yet Streveler can't get the same here? I get that our receiving corp isn't what Hamilton's is but did you hear the interview with Masoli after the game? He thanked management for bringing in new talent and giving these guys a chance to play. That's all we're saying here. Give these guys a chance.
What I can't stand from O'Shea is the misguided loyalty and cone-of-silence bafflegab BS.
Nice of you to finally admit that 😉
He means in the media. he cant publicly come out and lambaste his QB and I dont doubt for a minute he tells him and Lapo in film study and meetings that this is crap and needs to be better..

Coach that lost the room? lmao. If there is anything to be said for Mike Oshea, it's that his players will continually get up and run full tilt into a wall for him..
Losing the room wont happen. will he get the room back on track?? Debatable. I want to believe so. it is definitely gut check time for this coaching staff.

Pipkin has had how many games?? Diddo Thompson??
Man people are so quick to think these guys are gonna be great. it's been 2 or 3 games. let's not start anointing them as the next best things yet.. CFL history is rife with flash in the pans.. hell how many have we seen??
I get the negatrons want so badly to show how pathetic our QB is and yadayadayada but let's see if Nichols snaps out of it or if these 2 can continue on their rises to greatness before we proclaim the east set in stone.

Lapolice has always been an idiot. He's never run a consistent offense, even in a good year. People always get jacked about 3-4 good games he puts together, too bad a season is 20-21 games including playoffs.
Why do you underestimate Pierce? Where did Lapo play pro ball?
Not to mention that buck isnt a dumb ass QB a la bishop. Guys very cerebral. not sure why hes getting written off.. hes been a QB coach a few seasons now too. someone must think hes intelligent

You might want to take your own advice on reading. He's talking after the season if they miss the playoffs. Do you really think Nichols will be the QB next season if they miss the playoffs?
I think yes he would he the incumbent BUT if Streveler shines in camp and TC then he would be pushed hard.
But moo point at this junction.. this is Nichols team. if healthy, hes our guy til the end of this year.

As for Calgary demolishing us...
We were in the game for 3 quarters... winning 2 of them.. how is that a demolishing??
The panic prone mentality here at times ..

Help me out here. What can I take away from the last two games that would give me some hope?
Yup base the outcome of a season on two games..
brilliant!

Curious if anyone has seen any for sale anywhere?? Girlfriend is after some for a group event.
Thanks to anyone who has any insight to finding some.

Did he mean change up the plan it ain't working or send more to get at the QB tho?

I just caught this play again on wired up tonight......and yes technically you are right, Matt Nichols could not catch Davis at that point. Mostly because Matt can't run that fast to begin with.......... I wonder if Big Chris could have caught him though (?).....
Why doh?

Every qb throws those during the season.
I've seen a lot of bomber receivers jumping straight up for overthrows getting rocked or turning back to the ball more often then in seasons past..
Somethings off. Dunno what it is but Nichols isnt his usual self this season.. he rarely hung his guys out last year.
-
Nichols has thrown a few murder balls this season.. cant argue that.

I really think Wolitarsky is being criminally underused .. this guy just screams Jason Clermont to me .. that's a body that could be used in the slot.
I dunno if hes ready for that role yet. hes still learning the CFL game and his role here. I think he will continue to develop and will become a very good receiver for us.. but just not quite yet.
-
And yet... cut in camp.
And they had crap for QBs. remember folks, hes had 2 games. DCs now know his tendencies. We've seen many QBs come in and look great for a game or 3.. then splat.

It was a risk- a shiny new and unproven GM with a shiny new and unproven rookie head coach. What could go wrong?
Didnt realize back to back playoff seasons after missing how many could be considered wrong.. but hey dont let reality get in the way of your slamming of our management.

I'm pretty sure Nichol's receivers aren't happy with his comments he made about them. Wonder how the rest of the team feels about him throwing them under the bus.
Way to keep up. That was misquoted and spun outta control by tsn. milt even owned it.

Doesn't this also mean our receivers can't get open? People can say things without actually saying them.
No.. you can infer what he says to your own means but when he comes out and says "the defense played well.. guys were covered.." and then repeats himself the next day to make sure people understand he wasnt attacking his receivers..

In a game that we were leading going into the second half and was close until the 4th quarter. Asinine. You'd think they would have wanted 20+ out of Harris the way Nichols was playing.
If we know hes gonna get stuffed.. and Calgary knows we are gonna run heavy.... is that really the wisest course of action?? 3rd run in and it began.. 2 yard carry.. 1 yard carry...

Landon Rice is of no help...30 yr old who has never really started anywhere...we'd be better off with Neuf at tackle and Couture at guard if we wanted to go that silly route
Emphasis on "silly"

Moe had one bad game out of our 10...he's hardly a concern whatsoever, and hasn't lost a step..was a total defensive scheme collapse all around...If anything the use and play of Loffler is hurting this team more than anything...he seems so slow...and stiff....big hits be dammned (way things are going league wise anyway a big hit will probably get flagged)
I think he needs to be replaced for a game or two and put in the more athletic Conteh or Morgan and let them play a traditional safety role, because as it is now, he is offer minimum help to the DB's coverage wise and in open space with a receiver running after the catch he almost looks comical and lost out there...not to mention looking like he is plodding through deep wet sand
On that catch and run where Jordan had him turned inside and out and around... wow did he look bad. I'm thinking his hips are not nearly as loose enough to move fast enough to keep up with top flight receivers. that was embarrassing.
Matt Nichols -BOO!!!!!!!
