Why do fans crap all over Nicholls when last year we had Brohm & Marve to poop up the field after Willy went down? When he got here for a 7th round pick he had to deal with a garbage OL, the worst receiving corps in the CFL, no run game & an OC with no imagination who couldn't make adjustments during games. Considering everything, he played well.

So I just woke up not that long ago, am only on my first cup of coffee, and I saw this:    Darrin Bauming @DarrinBauming Rush end Trent Corney, #Bombers top 2016 draft pick, just broke Stanley Bryant's ankles with a speed move off the edge. #hyperbole #noinjury

Had to read it a couple times, 'cause my heart skipped a beat......holy hell....

To me the Riders look way worse than the player/agent.
Sask picked the kid. Either failed to gauge his interest well, underestimated the slimyness of Hardaway or are just straight up stubborn clowns.
No one's buying the market correction, for the good of the league bullcrap. I think it's better for the league to continue to up player's pay. Encourage guys to want to be in the league. He's a #1 overall for christ's sake, he's supposed to collect the league minimum? Is that what fans want from their team? I mean I'm thrifty too, Winnipegger and all, but this seems excessive. And to those who say prove it - he did, enough anyway, that's why they drafted him.
JsJ is no winner, reputation takes a bit of a hit with some. But the oh so typical chest thumping from the Rider fanbase and the circle jerk their media pulled prove real losers wear green.

Offered the bus driver $1.50, this morning, as fare.........and explained that it was merely an "market adjustment"
He could not grasp that simple concept.....

Even if you aren't developing a players skill and only implementing your coaching scheme, you still have to be able to teach them that scheme.
If you can't teach your scheme in a way all players can understand, you aren't a good coach.

I went to practice today...not very many fans there...and despite not being sunny, the weather was still enjoyable.
One of the first things I noticed was that there was quite a bit more sustained activity than there was last year. My son and I actually felt bored at times watching practice last year...not sure if it is because Lapo is running things or because Belfueille was just that bad.
During practice also noticed that Richie Hall was very involved, in stark contrast to Tim Burke who always stood around with his arms folded.
There were some players who caught my attention for one reason or another.
Impressed so far with Alex Vitt, who ran plenty today and can catch. He is not a speed demon but is fast enough and looks like he can handle the rough going.
Also impressed with Gerrard Sheppard #88, tall and rangy, who seems to glide when he runs, and catches virtually everything thrown at him. Also Kevin Cone looks good, perhaps a tad slower.
Julian Talley is wearing Denmark's old number...and looks like he might be as good as, if not better.
All the running backs look good, and Carlos Anderson #34, looks fully healed. #32 Tim Flanders looks very good as well.
On defence...Trent Corney #43 is very fast and looks very strong. Looks like he will have to learn more technical aspects as he did not beat all the lineman he faced like he may have thought he would.
Taylor Loffler #16 is tall with plenty of speed, might be a very nice surprise.
#90 Emmanual Dieke, is tall, fast, and strong, he beat several of the lineman with ease. (just watch, he will be one of the first cuts because I said this).
both the punters were hitting some good ones today with good hang time.
It was an enjoyable practice to watch, especially with no long break to cut up the practice.

I've been to 4 games at Mosaic Stadium over the years & on 2 occasions I've been hassled. One time I had  a beer poured on me as I was entering the tunnel when we were leaving the game. My guilt? Wearing a Bomber cap. Another time back in 1974, the Bombers won on the last play of the game with a Don Jonas field goal. A drunk Rider fan furious his team lost broke the whiskey bottle he had & pointed the broken neck shard at me threatening to stab me.
Drunken Rider fans at McMahon Stadium have been a huge problem. So bad that there are no longer weekend games with the Riders anymore so that security, police & Stamps fans don't have to deal with large groups of unruly behaviour. From Rider fans streaking on the field during a game to ugly behaviour in the stands. In wasn't sitting anywhere near where this happened but a few years ago a group of Rider fans attacked a Calgary Police officer when he came into the stands to help security remove some drunken Rider fans. It went viral & was on You Tube. I've seen police remove drunken Rider fans from the stands & it wasn't just for no reason. It was because of fighting &/or boorish behaviour bothering everyone around them.
I've seen Rider fans in the stands & the McMahon Stadium concourse yell, scream & swear at any fan not wearing green. So get over yourself, Ripper. The reason your fanbase has a target on their backs isn't because you have the most fans but because a large percentage of Rider fans who travel to games are drunken assholes. No other team has fans who misbehave like that.

I don't know how you're saying he's 110% wrong when you're basically saying the exact same thing, Noeller is just saying it's a difference in wallet size and you're saying it's a deliberate choice (which I don't believe is correct)

Glad we didn't disrupt the tank by accidentally scoring in the OT period.  That second goal was a classic example of why I want Enstrom off this team.  Silfverberg just skates up to Enstrom and takes the puck off of his stick like he's taking candy from a baby.  Not acceptable.

No, just no. Now that My man Buff is retained, I'm jumping on the Myers wagon. He's a keeper imo. He has not reached is full potential, he's still young, and like Buff, he's an unique player that doesn't come around to often.

    Here comes the unpopular opinion!
Knowing you're getting a shitty deal going in doesn't make the deal any less shitty. I can't help but sympathize with the players making league minimum or PR wages while Kenny Canadian gets paid more than his fair share to be a slow unreliable <insert any position> week in week out because he has the right passport. This is a cruel and cut-throat business, only more-so to the American players we rely on so heavily for our skill positions. If we want to see better talent coming north we need to be a desirable destination. Nothing about that deal sounds desirable.
Yes, they are getting paid to play a game blah blah blah, but if they all went and got 'real jobs' instead of making league minimum who would we have to watch come July?
And before anyone gets up in arms, I appreciate the ratio and I love seeing Canadians play... whether or not they are the best available player at their position... it's just a shame that ratio balancing dictates who plays (and gets paid), and not talent. It's something I thought about a lot watching Brock Ralph try to catch a ball.

I imagine Scheif will be easy to get done.  Seems like a fair, reasonable kid.
Trouba will be interesting.  He could be super easy to deal with.  He could be tough to deal with.  If the "news" that his agent wants $7m per on a long term deal are any indication, he wont be that easy to deal with.
If the Jets give him $7m on a 7-8 year deal, then they have a lot of faith that he eventually becomes and surpasses a $7m D-man because he's not there yet.  If he will take under $6m then I'd say sure, lock him in.
But it makes more sense from a financial standpoint to 2-3 year bridge him at $4m-ish.  It gives you flexibility with Toby's contract and Morrissey's development.  That might even let them bring in Hamonic and not lose any of their existing top four D.  Plus, if he does become the player we all think he can be, then in 3 years you can max-term him and you buy more Free Agency time.
But financially, a trade of Trouba for Hamonic makes a lot of sense if we can secure another solid asset from the Isles.  Im all for keeping Trouba.  But if it was Trouba for Hamonic+, thats some solid D and solid cap certainty for several years with Buff, Myers, Ham all signed long term.
