Wow, what a way to kick off the day! I'm absolutely pumped that Brady's sticking around! My health has been taking a major hit lately and I've been feeling at an all-time low, this news is like a touchdown for my spirit, I haven't felt this fired up since November

What time do you get out of bed??

  2. And Brandon Barlow is off to Hamilsmell.

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have agreed to terms with American defensive end Brandon Barlow and, barring anything unforeseen, he’s expected to sign with the team, per sources.
The 26-year-old played in 14 games for the Toronto Argonauts in 2023, starting two in a rotation that included Thomas Costigan and Robbie Smith. Nevertheless, he finished second on the team behind all-star Folarin Orimolade with nine sacks, adding 30 defensive tackles, two special teams tackles and two forced fumbles.

Barlow initially joined the Argos in August 2022, suiting up in 10 games as a rookie with 18 defensive tackles, one special teams tackle and one sack. He helped Toronto win the 109th Grey Cup in Regina.
Prior to his time in the CFL, the six-foot-four, 260-pound pass rusher spent six years at Boston College from 2016 to 2021. In 50 games for the Eagles, he made 128 tackles, 18 tackles for loss, 10 sacks, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.

Barlow was 3DownNation‘s No. 16-ranked pending free agent. General manager Ed Hervey hopes he can boost Hamilton’s pass rush.
Pending free agents can negotiate with teams across the league during the current window, which closes on Feb. 11. Players can agree to terms on a contract with a particular team for 2024, however, these deals aren’t legally binding and can’t be finalized or made official until after free agency opens on Feb. 13.

You wont see any significant guys following him there....like why would they?...Just like nobody followed Lapo to Ottawa

Why would a vet guy in peak of his career wanna go to some big unknown, and really Mace hiring and all...still a dumpster fire until proven otherwise?

Only way would be for a huuuuuge over pay, and even then....that limits you to maybe 1 guy...2 tops

That Stronson is such a moron

Others may yet head to the rectangle (or other places).

Consider how any of these names could make an impact for virtually any other team:

Bede. Brissett. Coxie. Daniel. Hendrix. Jones. Leake. Oakman. Ouellette. Peters. Pickett. Richards. Tate.

I trust the group who build our roster to do the right thing for us.. but dang it's going to be a nervy few weeks.

Pfft, probably gave him a Hortons Card and a tote bag, called it a restructuring.

Toronto and BC sign whoever they want anyway. “Cap space” lol

That's about 5 veterans with significant contracts who have opted to re-structure this offseason.

That's likely how we got Wynton McManis back for 2 more years.

(still some very big decisions to go)

I could see every CFL team making a big push for Schoen.

I was thinking the same. I've got nothing to back that up other than it just feels like a very Alouettes thing to do.

And not everybody will be in for Schoen... My team has FA/Salary issues aplenty without trying for that sort of move.

interesting story... never played college ball, so he's getting a shot in the East-West Bowl:

The better half and I were staying at the Delta (near Scotiabank & Skydome) in August to make it easier to get to the game (1 train stop) and allow partaking in the festivities without worrying about how much we (I) drink.

We come down the elevator and turn left to go to Union and not 20 second later a  guy who was coming from the other direction, dressed in black from sneakers to hoodie stops his e-scooter in front of us, removes his headphones and says "Pardon me, I just wanted to ask who your favorite player on defence is?" We were wearing our Argo gear.

Looking up to him (he had an extra 4 inches on his scooter) without even thinking I answer back "Pickett. He's everywhere."

He says "Aw man, it isn't me?"

Not recognizing his face and hating to have to ask I said "I'm sorry man, I don't recognize your face..."

He introduces himself politely. It's Stiggers. Hands are shook.

I tell him "Well 42, maybe I just didn't say it was you since I'm fairly sure that you'll be off to somewhere down south next year." He laughs and thanks us for the encouragement. Nice guy. We wish him all the best.

He scoots off westward at 35kmh, we hop a train to the tailgate.

We get there and everyone was telling us how bad we missed out because AJ, who wasn't playing that day, had been by to partake. I tell them about Qwan'tez. Laughs and beers were had. Argos win.

    I miss football season.

I think the Elks and TO both win this trade for different reasons. The Argos are going to get raided in FA, and won't be able to do much about it due to SMS restraints. Of course, Mace will be spending to get some of his DL guys so Toronto was going to take a hit there. Gittens is the better player, but Ceresna gives them a stud DL under contract for about the same money and TO can watch Hendrix and Oakman go elsewhere. Not buying the cock and bull that Bluto is floating that Gittens was expendable, but there is a cost associated to a guy like Ceresna and Gittens is coming off a bad injury.

I honestly expected him to be released. Especially after Daniels and Orimolade restructured their contracts, I figured that if KGJ didn't also restructure that he wouldn't be an Argo this season.

Tough choices still to be made... Peters, McManis, Pickett, Hendrix, Ouellette... And naming whoever our replacement for Mace at DC is.

woulda loved to have had Ceresna, but I'm sure as **** not giving up Demski to get him....

We just came through a season where our highest paid receiver was (by and large) not a factor in our 16-2 record. And he had a lingering hip injury. And his salary was comparable to the guy we got for him.

Makes sense from our perspective. With Ceresna in, I suppose this means that either or both of Oakman or Hendrix won't be back.

I wish KGJ a prosperous reunion with MBT.
