  1. Alrighty, time to get to work... We have the best of the CFL online fan community's Bomber posters here and a few from other teams thrown into the mix. It's time for us to create a thread to use what we have here.

    What i have in mind:

myself and 7 other posters will create Review/Preview posts, one for each team in the league. within each post we will cover:

    Starters on O:
    Starters on D:
    Key STers:
    New Additions:
    Subtractions:
    Draft:
    Players on the bubble:
    Last season summary:
    2013 outlook and prediction:

but it doesn't end there... when each are up, the forum will then post their own additions and amendments to each and by popular consensus the poster will edit their own post. please make use of team stats wherever possible. a picture or two would be nice too... maybe a star player or something.
then a mod will clean the thread leaving only the 8 team previews as created by MorningBigBlue's posters.

now to assign/volunteer for the 8 previews... (don't all raise your hand at once  )

    Montreal: Doctor Handsome
    Toronto: bluto
    Hamilton: Zontar
    Winnipeg: JPan85

    Saskatchewan: Mark H
    Edmonton: Mike
    Calgary: iso_55
    BC: DanoT

Timeframe: i'd like the previews reviews to be done by Monday night please... then the edits and revisions to be done prior to Tuesday June 11th

    who wants in?

  2. Are nested quotes limited? I kinda like how Riderfans allows only one nested quote. Two would be okay as well. OB would get ridiculous sometimes with the massive "quote trains".

    Maximum currently set at 3.

If it becomes too messy, we can lower it to 1 or 2.

    i'd rather you up'd it.

  3. http://www.torontosun.com/2013/05/28/ar ... -extension

it's nominally an article about the talks to extend Ray's contract, but we finally got some info about Brink thrown in at the end:

In Trevor Harris and Zach Collaros, the Argos have two young arms who now have one year under their belt.

Both joined Ray at the team’s mini-camp in Florida last month and the Argos were encouraged at what they saw.

“They were more comfortable in the offence,’’ said Barker. “Both Trevor and Zach read things much easier this year. Both are ready to compete and it’s going to be a great competition for the No. 2 and No. 3 spots.”

Unless something dramatically goes awry, Ray will be the incumbent.

There’s no proven CFL veteran under contract, a role Jarious Jackson filled last season.

The battle for the backup position and third-stringer pits Harris, Collaros and Mitchell Gale, who beat out former Winnipeg starter and backup Alex Brink.

Gale also attended the Argos’ session in Florida and later auditioned for the St. Louis Rams in the NFL.

In a nutshell, the Double Blue had to decide between Gale and Brink.

“I didn’t like having to do it, but you have to do what you have to do,’’ said Barker.

What impressed Barker was Gale’s touch on deep balls, his mobility and presence.

The CFL is such a fluid business that Brink may one day resurface.

“Alex has at least been introduced to our system,’’ said Barker.

“And he’s a veteran guy. It would be wrong to say he’s never going to be back. You never know. This league is small.”

  4. looks like a good site. Thanks for the heads Bluto

np. had to get a few invites out late last night before my ban took effect.

ha ha well you basically dared Colin to ban you. Talk about setting the bridge on fire! :)

i went out on my own terms dude. and all i did was call him on his bulls@*t.

he posts, "i want to thank the mods for their service and would never close the door on them", even as he is ban/deleting them.

i bet he had a cigarette after he clicked his mouse on the tab that finally banned bluto from OB.

  5. Let's be honest, the entire season comes down to how the qbs do so there's going to be a magnifying glass on them all training camp, going to be a hell of a good time watching and seeing if they can step up and make the most of their opportunities.

for the same reason, a magnifying glass ought to be on pass protection and Crowton's new adaptations he has put in for it.

  6. tried adding someone to my foes list... but it didn't work since he hasn't actually signed up yet.

a foes list works like an ignore function, right? (pretty please)

what's the point of having foes? If you block all the morons who can you possibly argue with?

because i can already sum up each of his "arguments" he'll ever have on this or any forum ever:

"Bombers are teh best! Everything they do are teh best! Any criticism ams douchey trolling!"

so you see, i don't need to have it take up my bandwidth.

  7. Most Bomber fans should get the reference, but this is in our Code of Conduct to explain:

The website name, Morning Big Blue, is in tribute to the late Richard Harris. Richard Harris was a Winnipeg Blue Bomber coach from 2006 to 2011. He was beloved by player and fan alike. His impact on the players he coached and the community he lived in is still felt to this day, and goes beyond the lessons he taught on the field. Every morning when the team met for practice and meetings, his booming voice could be heard with the phrase, “Morning Big Blue”.

This phrase has also been placed prominently on the wall of the dressing room in the new stadium.

just saw that in the CoC... you beat me to it.
