another brilliant list.
The defending champions only have 4 of the top 50 players?

It looked bad for Dukes on Friday. He started into a 3 club wind and just couldn't get going. Then in the second you'd think it would all come up Millhouse for him, but it didnt. By the fourth quarter on with both our 4 & 5 QB having had better night's than our #3... One of whom had only been with us a week... And our QB2 is a GC MOP... It was going to be time to wish Cameron all the best in his future endeavors.
We had a very crowded RB room. And Coach Din isn't shy in parting ways with established backs (viz: Harris & Ouellette).
I was more worried about having too many good OLs to use or protect. Wondering if a few might slip in the shower and get 6 gamed.

Playing the Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remaster has me thinking that studios like Virtuos ought to pull off this same trick with most of our classic favorites.

@Noeller as the resident musicologist, you should start a thread (here or in the General forum) to compile a Bombers/Football/Season-is-coming Playlist.
Get a few pages of engagement and then post a playlist everyone can share.

Both off-season threads are rando free-for-alls. This one is more than most.
That Tib and fib bust is ugly as it gets. If they say he is 50-50 for the start of the year, it is more likely he might be game-ready by week 4. And even at that, it's a crap shoot come back.
Yup. That and the fact that he is our star QB, we have a backup that we know we can win games with, and that our current and future prospects for success hinge on Kelly's 100% recovery makes it and easy decision to put him on the IR.
-
-
After coming back ahead of schedule, Kelly was dressed but didn't participate yesterday. Scuttlebutt from the likes of Barker is that he didn't feel good after his first practice. Might be that he starts the year on the IR and Arbuckle steers the ship for 6 games. (We play Calgary and Saskatchewan and 4 East teams in them).

If there’s one player—just one—in the entire Canadian Football League who absolutely screams 'poster boy for performance-enhancing drugs,' it’s got to be Zachary J. Collaros. I mean, the sheer physical dominance, the unstoppable power, the jaw-dropping speed... it’s almost too obvious, right?

Mike Hogan's annual Inside The War Room piece is up. He spends draft day with the Argos player department and does a revealing writeup every year.
Certain rules apply, ie: he isn't allowed to talk specifically about trades that don't get over the line or players who they don't draft but wanted.
It was of particular interest to us this season since Vince Magri moved on to the Bills, we didn't know if it was all Murphy and Dinwiddie or what... Turns out it was an internal promotion of Video/Scouting/QC Coach Marcus Grandison. Sounds like he played a big role too.

Dude can play....and if he is not totally a fraud then it's probably much the same as picking a guy who you knew was gonna exhaust all NFL interest for a yr before showing up...this instance it's a certainty he will be in camp fr 2026 as no NFL team will even give him e second thought now....
That was my thought. In a backwards kind of way, it actually makes him a "safer" pick.
-
I am not an expert or even a follower of college or u sport football. I only go by what the consensus of the 8 or so pundits who go deep into this stuff is and sort of take their average. Based on that I think the Argos had a good draft day... No receivers was the only surprise for me, but I suppose that with 5 national receivers on the roster that it wasn't a great need.

He seems like a solid choice honestly
Yeah.
If yesterday someone told me that Bell Media had one SVP of both Content and Sales it would've raised my eyebrows since those are the the two biggest and most important departments at a massive media company. I would've replied to the person who informed me of Bell Media having just one guy as the point man for those "Impressive. That man must be an ace."
If they then said that they wondered if the CFL could ever get that guy to head up the league, I'd have expressed great doubt at the possibility.
Good get.

Per CFL.ca
QuoteTORONTO – Stewart Johnston has spent his entire professional career connecting viewers with the news, sports and entertainment that they love. On countless occasions, he has given Canadians from coast to coast to coast a reason to stand and cheer for their heroes.
The longtime Bell Media executive will now focus that wealth of insight and experience on building his vision for the Canadian Football League (CFL) as its 15th Commissioner.
“I am deeply humbled and profoundly honoured by this incredible opportunity,” said Commissioner Johnston. “Long before I worked with TSN and RDS to broadcast the CFL, I was a fan. Growing up, I sat with family and friends, watching the legends of the game. I’ve loved working closely with this league, getting to know its stars and being a part of the most unforgettable celebration in Canadian sports – Grey Cup Week. To think that I will present that iconic trophy to this year’s winners in Winnipeg this November is a dream come true.”
Johnston was born in Toronto and grew up in Ottawa. He graduated from Queen’s University with a business degree. In 1997, his passion for sports led him to the doors of TSN. Over the next two-and-a-half decades, he rose through the ranks of Canada’s Sports Leader to President, growing the company into the sports media juggernaut it is today. A football fanatic, he has a deep understanding of the tremendous fandom that flows throughout the Canadian sporting community.
Johnston is a seasoned and successful sports rights negotiator with intimate knowledge of content distribution strategies and key relationships across major distribution partners. His experience includes leadership of a national advertising sales team with over 1,000 employees. He revolutionized the process of media buying by combining industry-leading data with the massive reach of Bell Media’s platforms.
As Senior Vice-President, Content and Sales at Bell Media, Johnston translated more than 25 years of knowledge gained in every facet of the sporting landscape into content development across all English- and French-language video, audio and digital platforms for Bell Media’s extensive range of assets, including Canada’s No. 1 broadcast network, CTV; the largest-Canadian-owned video streaming service, Crave; as well as TSN and RDS, Noovo, Bell Media Studios and iHeartRadio Canada.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Stewart as our next Commissioner,” said Scott Banda, Chair of the CFL Board of Governors. “What he has built at Bell Media is nothing short of remarkable. His in-depth familiarity with sports business in Canada and his lengthy history of success in the media industry and as an executive, made him the ideal candidate for Commissioner.”
As Banda and the Board look ahead to the future of the league, they also recognize the hard work and contributions of the 14th Commissioner of the CFL, Randy Ambrosie, who will continue to lead the day-to-day operations of the league office until Johnston officially takes on the role beginning April 24.
“On behalf of the Canadian football community, I’d like to extend our gratitude to Randy,” said Banda. “Over the past seven-and-a-half years, he laid an extremely solid foundation for our game and league. It is on that bedrock that we now entrust Stewart with the task of taking the CFL to new heights.”
Looking ahead, Johnston sees unlimited possibilities to honour the league’s past, while setting the stage for the next generation of fans and players.
“It’s been wonderful to see how far the league has come, with special thanks to Randy’s stewardship,” added the new Commissioner. “But it’s the future that excites me. It’s what’s to come that inspires me. As we look ahead, our mission is clear: to grow the game of football, to enhance the entertainment experience for our fans, and to ensure the sustainability and success of our league for generations to come.”
Johnston will be formally introduced as the 15th Commissioner of the CFL at a media conference later this month.
The league will welcome the next wave of Canadian talent at the CFL Draft on April 29. Training camps will open on May 11 before the preseason gets underway on May 19. The season kicks off June 5 with the Saskatchewan Roughriders hosting the Ottawa REDBLACKS.

Justin wouldn't know a football from a cow pie.
I’d bet my weight in gold that if asked about the CFL, our former Prime Minister (now a "statesperson," according to Google) would tilt his head, raise his eyebrows, and gaze wistfully into the distance before reminiscing about that moment at Exhibition Stadium. He’d recall Tony Gabriel’s iconic Grey Cup-winning touchdown catch—how, without hesitation, Gabriel ran straight to young Justin, just five years old and only beginning to grasp that destiny had marked him for greatness. Handing him the ball, Gabriel would have told him that one day, he would grow into a great man, a protector of women and the disadvantaged across this great nation…

Cancelled our summer trip to Wyoming and are going to Toronto instead. @bluto any tips on where to sit at BMO? Where do the other Bomber fans like to congregate?
Glad to hear it!
I haven't observed that Bomber fans congregate in a particular section. That pretty much only happens when Hamilton or Montreal attend. Just try not to be on the East side for an evening game - the setting sun is blinding.
Let me know which game and we'll meet up at the TG.

Don't get me wrong, Bluto. As a city, I like Toronto but as a city to host the WC, there were better.
Hard disagree.
You're welcoming the world to your country. You don't send them to Edmonchuk.
(I say this as someone who quite likes Edmonton and have extended family there who I'm overdue to visit. Never been there in winter though)

My team has gone 3 seasons without being able to do one, so I say why stop at Lock Of The Week? I would love it if the league adopted this rule too.
