yeah but it wouldn't be all of a sudden. He showed promise as a passer last season and at times this year too. The problem is an offensive coordinator who can not adjust to fit his players. He always looks for what he wants and hammers a player into that role.

It's why Andrew Harris works, he's a guy built for what Lapo likes to do. It's why he over uses Demski a lot, because it's the kind of player he likes. It's why we had more success with Dressler than without last year, because he's a player that fits what Lapo likes to do.

Guys like Wolitarsky though? Under used because they're not the lapo gadget guys, just good receivers who would do better in a more conventional offense.

I really hope someone hires Lapo away from us because you will likely see a huge improvement in the performance of the quarterbacks and receivers.

So if the problem is an oc, well wouldn’t you rather want Masoli, Nichols, or collaros, or guys with experience to help lead the team and not a guy with 12 starts?

So are the Strev doubters 100 percent certain he wont develop his passing more? Seems like it to me and that's foolish...many a good QB before him was similar..Ham for one..even Damon Allen was all run..spotty passing...you have to put a good 3 yrs into a guy before throwing away..he is leaps and bounds better than last year and if he was in an offence where he could actually play QB and run a normal offence..he could impress

Nobody is saying he will 100% be a bad passer for life. But if you are the bombers, how long can you wait on the guy and how much money do you put into him. Next year, the team will be in a very good position to do well again. And you can’t assume that over the winter strev “flips a switch” and becomes a good passing qb all of a sudden. So the question is, how much money do you risk on a strong running qb who may or may not be able to pass effectively, when that money could be spent in other areas on the team.

You're forgetting about Lapo. Masoli would die a thousand deaths here under Lapo.

I suspect Streveler could be a super-Masoli if he could get away from Lapo and hook up with a June Jones type of coach.

So explain what you mean by a “thousand deaths”. Collaros has done well. Nichols while he doesn’t put up 300 yards/game numbers, he has been beyond effective, and well maybe you are right, maybe you are wrong. But strev has not been as effective through the air. Yes he’s blown through people with his legs, but that gets figured out and put him into a position to be hurt.

Collaros & Streveller is a very good combo. Streveller taking those hard yards will save Collaros from those unwanted hits.

How much do you pay zach? How much do you pay strev? Halts the development of McGuire. Having two qbs seems like a good idea until they both want to be payed like starters.

Can someone honestly answer why the heck they would want Masoli here? Seriously.. Big Arm but zero football IQ. Id rather stay with nichols and streveler

I like Nichols but let’s be real here. He’s on the wrong side of 30, Coming off a throwing arm surgery, and streveler, idk what has he done other than run the ball? Certainly wouldn’t feel comfortable with him being the starting qb next year. Masoli would be a logical choice for next year. Good arm, can move the ball well, and would be playing with a good team Infront of him. It would also for McGuire to take another step forward in his development.

Its about time.  Better late than never.

Hope it sticks for a season or two.  People love the Bombers but all the Debbie Downers constantly going on about not winning in 29 years and traffic at ths stadium has put a damper on it for the last few years.

Also a big F You goes out to the people who just hate on the cfl for no reason.

Last two wins were done in the whites though.....

I think for the bombers to win this game, they gotta limit turnovers and get all aspect of the offence rolling. I can’t be the only one who thinks the ticats offence is overrated? It’s good, but watching their game today it was based off incredible grabs by wrs, and explosion plays that can be eliminated.

Well, I think you fumbled that call

So com centre sees it as the arm going forward. It has to be pretty clear cut to tell he was tucking it. Obviously there will be a bias on here and that’s fine, but tough to call the difference between a tuck and over gripping the ball and throwing it into the ground, just my thoughts

That's not all on Streveler. He need s blocking to get past the line of scrimmage.

That’s true, but sask is bring their lbs up and can bring in the safety too. They called that fake run pass too early in my opinion. But strev isn’t running the same rn either. Holes have to be created and holes also have to be found

Yup.  Canada is obviously no where near the worst places in the world. But we’re also not nearly good enough.   It’s always great when white males tell you there is no racism though.   Walk in the shoes of a minority for one hour and they’ll see....

The alt right has made it far too acceptable to be racist now.  And then in turn when someone like Trudeau does blackface, liberals feel like it’s okay cause they’re getting away with one too.

anyway back on the subject of Cherry and whether he meant what he said or always felt this way:

In that video, context should be provided to what happened to the Atlantic cod industry in the 1980-1990s.

generally, and the motion to see who covers who to determine if zone, or a man coverage...thats where we messed up Bo because we showed the usual tendencies..then flipped it when ball was snapped...I think he saw zone...but it morphed to man and it messed him right up

The qb would also have to find the mlb pre snap too right? He’s gotta figure if he’s coming on a blitz, spying or taking the rb off the snap. Unless I’m way off base on that assessment

It's because of this thing called Freedom of Expression.  Unfortunately, with this gift came an obligation to used it wisely and that is where things start falling apart.  While many of the league's QB's did the 300,400 or even 500 yard tricks our little ugly duckling would often not even pass for 200 yards but somehow kept winning games while leading the league in efficiency ratings.

One thing people over look is the fact that Matt was also only averaging About 25 passes a game. Now he completes passes at a 70% rate. That’s about 17-18 completions a game. It’s pretty hard to throw for 250+ or 300+ yards a game when you are only expected to complete 18 passes. I think people over look the game plan that it wasn’t meant for a huge passing game and is based on a strong run game and tons of short throws.

I will admit, I didn't have to live thru the lean years of Bomber football caused by bad QB play... and it is nice to finally be back on the winning side of things primarily because of competent QB play... but for some, you'd think that he has cured cancer or something, lol...

It’s that “new kid on the block” type of mentality. Same thing how people think strev is second coming of Jesus. When people were calling for Nichols to start in 2016 because he was also the new and greatest thing. Or How Drew willy was gonna completely turn us around. The back up qb is the most popular person in the cfl lol or the bombers at least.

I think that if we don't win it all we're in for a healthy dose of 'if Nichols hadn't gotten hurt' for months to come from our own fan base... we've got more than 1 enabler in our midst...

I don’t think it will be like that. Most people realize Matt and zach and very similar qbs in our system.
