Based on the scoreboard I think you are right. We would have won without Strev. However, having him and the way he played basically sealed it and left no doubt. We were a better team because of him.

Oh for sure, this 2 qb system is effective in our offence.

Folks are pretending that we destroyed the Stamps for the whole game. Truth of the matter is that they won the first half and we owned them in the 2nd half. The 70 yard TD in the 4th destroyed their confidence. After that BLM threw 2 picks and they turned the ball over on downs.

We needed the combo of Collaros/Streveler to beat them. Either one alone or Nichols/Streveler wouldn't have done the job. We needed the big throws and the big runs. Neither QB by themselves could provide both.

I'm not suggesting we sign Collaros next year. In fact, I didn't want us to trade for him in the first place because of his health. It's turned out great so far, but I'm still worried about a big hit taking him out yet again.

Collaros has been both good and lucky in Bomber Blue. Great TD throws and 4 balls that should have been picked, but weren't. He's moved the pocket well, something that Nichols can't do, and that's been the reason for some of his biggest plays. He's only played 1 and 3/4 games so far. Breaks will even out over the long run, but we're in the playoffs so the long run doesn't exist.

Idk, I think we win the game if it’s just collaros. I’m sure I’ll get a lot of heat for this, but I don’t think strev  did too much until we had the lead in the fourth.

It might depend on if we need to come from behind or not. Nichols is good but what he was not good at is bringing us back from behind to win games. Strevs and Zach have both shown an ability to do that so if we are behind and need to come back to win I'd take either Strevs or Zach over Nichols every time.

    Zach yes, but not strev.

Nichols six years and was a part  of one play off win with the Bombers.   Collaros two games and is a part of one play off win with the Bombers.

Show the stats from his first two playoff starts. (Hint: wasn’t his fault they lost)

Yeah, I feel like the CFL is missing a level of engagement by not providing these sorts of details. Contracts too! Fans eat this stuff up.

Injuries are a bit different because that involves medical information but they could certainly disclose more.

That’s a big difference I find from nfl to cfl. NFL players don’t care if the contract amount gets reported. CFL players seem to have a fit if their amount gets reported.

End rusher..they have one..Leonard is average at best

Sacks are nice on the stat line..but we were right on their heals in sacks...but we pressure more to get picks...most in league..extremely more beneficial in the grand scheme of things

Oh for sure, don’t think that I’m trying to say sacks are the best stats there is. I’d rather take the bombers pressure scheme. But I give credit where credit is due, and sask has done a decent job on getting Hughes to the qb.

Well let me see...we lead the league in rushing...again...and almost set the all-time record for least rushing yards allowed per game over course of a season...Jefferson is MODP in West and certainly the league this year...Bryant is West Divison Most Outstanding O-lineman...for 3rd straight year and should win it again for 3rd straight in league...If anyone says that Winnipeg doesn't hold advantage there then they are just utter fools and obviously Rider fans....coincidentally utter fool and Rider fan goes hand in hand

I think there could be an argument to be made that in a straight pass rush, sask might hold a slight edge in that department. Their edge rushers tend to sacrifice everything just for a sack.

for the last 15- 20 years,I have been rememebering CHerry as the Load Mouthed batshit crazy  racist Grampa that shows up for each holiday dinner... He's entertaining brash opinionated and racist as hell- but you give him a pass because he's Canadian Hockey Royalty.

Snowflakes? Jesus... Yeah, **** them for not being intolerant of racists.

What did he do that’s racist?

you are blaming nichols for the limits of the offense. There was a play in the calgary game, Collaros was looking and looking and looking for a guy to throw to intermediate but it wasn't there and by the time he checked down to harris they'd closed that down, but if he'd checked down to harris sooner it would have been a solid gain for Harris.

Nichols would have understood that and dumped it off sooner, which people here hate, but it's the way this offense is designed to run.

There seems to be a lot of inconsistencies on this board. Nichols is bad, Lapo is bad, wrs are good and Nichols is bad, strev is good is wrs are bad, strev is awful, strev is the second coming of Jesus.

Considering that strev was only averaging about one less pass or so to Harris per game Shows your right that this is the way this offence is designed.

No they haven't?  The play of the o-line has dropped as the season has gone on.   Also different guys ,  Neufeld,  Gray, Couture, Speller etc....

Tackles have stayed the same all season. Nichols played with gray, speller, couture, and drew on the inside. Strev and collaros have played neufeld, couture, speller and drew. So I guess I’m wrong on the sense that gray and neufeld. Have been switched. Also I would disagree that the online play has gone done.

Nichols was playing with an o-line that gave him a tonne of time in the back field.  He was also playing against weaker teams.

Nichols whenever feeling pressured folded instantly and when things wouldn't go his way he rarely dug himself out of the hole.

Nichols can only thrive if everything else is running smoothly,  Collaros as that one play showed can at least make something out of nothing.

Next season I'm all for replacing LaPo,  but Nichols at this point is way to injured and prone to injuries so why bother keeping him.,   I'm pretty sure McGuire can throw 3 yard dump offs at a fraction of the salary.

Nichols, collaros, and strev are all playing with the same online.

Any recommendations for motels in Regina that are close to the stadium, and will have other Bomber fans staying there?

Also, for anybody who's going, where are you sitting?

I went to the heritage classic, and we stayed outside of Regina at the Balgonie motor inn. Cheap, nothing fancy, 10-15 minutes outside the dump of a city they call Regina, and cabs do go there. It’s a place if you can’t find one.

He isnt just a runner..he is a great running QB who is young and learning defences...as he only has after this year 3 years experience as an actual high level starter as a qb

He passed for over 4100 yards and over 30 tds in his senior year..that's not what running qbs do...

Fajardo on other hand never eclipsed 2800 yards in college or 20 tds..and was a definitive prototypical running qb..and was solely that for his first 3 years in canada leading up to this yr..his reason for more success throwing over Strev at this point is experience in the league..and CFL defences..given strev now has 2 years..and more actual starting experience under his belt than your average backup he will continue to progress..he has this year already significantly..he has a better arm..is a better runner..and has a better "it" factor..and it finally dawned on me who he throws like when I was away in cali and seen players up close and its Phillip Rivers..and he has done just fine..and that throwing motion is less likely to have shoulder issues..as shown by his relatively healthy career

100% strev has potential to be a good well rounded qb, but we have to take into consideration the position the bombers will be in next year. The team is still gonna be strong, and if strev is gonna be the guy to lead them, puts a lot of pressure on him to hurry his development and move on from being a run first qb. They could combat this by resigning Nichols as well, but then we pretty much say goodbye to any chance of developing McGuire.

I guess if Zach is unsigned after the draft, and we sign him, we can't really give him a draft pick that is already spent...

I can't see resigning Zach with that price tag.  Especially if Nichols is back and healthy.  Nichols at a lower rate, Streveler at an increase, and the two headed monster running more 50/50, not 85/15 like this year...

Gotta be careful though because how much of an increase do you give to a qb who can only run?

The team loves Streveler , I hope he is back next year and more years to come.

Side note at the end of the game Collaros seemed really cold and not wanting to be outside anymore when being interviewed.  I'm not sure if that is something to be concerned about as the weather decreases.

Careful you might pull an oblique muscle with that reach
